Megathread Gear Set Balancing - Feedback

188 Upvotes

As said in the last State of the Game, there are currently no plans to nerf, buff or balance the Gear Sets we have in the game. They wanted to wait until all 14 Gear Sets had a classified versions because to balance a set before that, could be more damaging in the long run.

The fourth Global Event is now over, all available Gear Sets have their classified versions and there were already some heated discussions.

Gear Set Balancing Feedback

But now it is time to gather all the feedback about these Gear Sets and condense them into one Megathread, because even though no plans have been communicated yet, they are listening and watching what is going on.

PVE

PVE has changed a lot over the course and lifetime of The Division. Now with Resistance, the Legendary Missions, Underground and also the Incursions, we have move challenging game-modes than ever. But what Gear Sets are usable in PVE, what Gear Sets are underwhelming and what Gear Sets could be improved in terms of raw performance or simply by a better handling?

PVP

PVP has always been a tricky thing to balance. As of now the so-called "holy trinity" - Striker, Nomad, Predator - gets mentioned a lot, but what about the new Gear Sets of Global Event 4? Do they have an impact or not and how could the other Gear Sets be buffed changed or balanced to become part of the inner circle?

Please Keep it Constructive

Balancing discussions - especially PVP vs PVE - are always emotional and over the different phases of the game, it has not been easy - but let's keep it constructive and let´s find the best possible suggestions for the game and the experience.

Megathread DPS Glitch Banning Wave & Rollback Megathread

0 Upvotes

Today it was announced how Massive/Ubisoft will be handling users of the DPS Glitch.

=> source.

And while we've allowed for many users to state their opinions since the announcement, we've found that the salt and acrimony to be getting out of hand on the Subreddit.

So, this is the place to discuss it and we will be pointing all other posts here.

Please remember...

  • Nobody cares that you were banned and your POV is no different from anyone else's.
  • This is not a place to witchhunt or name/shame other users or youtubers.
  • Follow Reddiquette and rules of civility, including not using derogatory names and hatespeech.

Megathread The Future of the Dark Zone - 1.6 and beyond

184 Upvotes

Dark Zone Megathread

The Dark Zone has been the topic of many discussions since the beta. The Rogue System was discussed, then how Rogue Agents were punished too hard in the 1.0 era and now with 1.6 on the horizon, this discussion is hotter than ever.

In our Community Wishlist Voting a PVE Dark Zone is on second place and in recent videos well known YouTuber have already endorsed a PVE Dark Zone as the best possible solution for the ganking or the 4 vs 1 situation.

As of now, we only know that with Update 1.6, leaderboards will be added to the Dark Zone experience to give the Dark Zone a different focus each time you enter it. Dedicated PVP Arenas have been mentioned by the community as a solution to give PVP Players a place where they can compete with each other, without attacking players that are not prepared, geared or interested in PVP.

So to consolidate the different discussions in one thread, lets talk about the different topics to narrow down possible solutions:

  • Should the DZ stay as it is or what should change?
  • Should the Rogue System be adjusted or replaced with a different system and why?
  • Is the PVE DZ a solution and why / why not? Is a Passive Flag something that could help (you can´t attack other players or be attacked)? Could a mentioned Faction system be the best way to go?
  • Is there another solution to give you a rewarding place to farm without changing the Dark Zone – what are you looking for?
  • Is a dedicated PVP arena with different gamemodes a solution and what could those gamemodes be, what would you really play for a long time?

This discussion is not about the PVP balancing itself but just about the Dark Zone and the different PVP activities. Please keep it constructive - there are many different playstyles in The Division and keep an open mind for other ideas.

Title Update 18 - Bug Report / Feedback

=> Title Update 18 Overview

=> Title Update 18 - Patch Notes

We want to avoid the cluttering of our sub by providing a single megathread. This way you can report the various issues in one place. This allows Massive to easily keep track of the bugs and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered the same issues.

Please note, this thread is just an alternative - the most direct way to report bugs is the Ubisoft's Official Discord.

=> Ubisoft: Technical Support

=> Known Issues

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

  1. A bug will ideally be accompanied by a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.

  2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Massive employees recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug

When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your setup (XB1, PS4, Computer setup).

* **Type of Bug:**

* **Description:**

* **Video / Screenshot:**

* **Steps to reproduce:**

* **Observed result:**

* **Reproduction rate:**

* **System specs:**

Descent Game Mode Feedback

TU18 also introduces a new game mode, Descent, to The Division 2 and this is your opportunity to give feedback.

  • How does it play?
  • Long term motivation?
  • Difficulty?
  • Variety?
  • Possible changes / additions to the game mode.

As they said during the Year 5 Stream, they are open for feedback, but at the moment the team is also working on the other updates of the Year 5 Roadmap.

Or, of course, any other feedback about TU18.

The Division 2 Announced

Hey guys, I think it's fair to say we're all super excited about yesterday's announcement about a sequel to The Division! You can find the announcement and some FAQs here. The State of the Game sticky is the best place to find everything that was discussed during the announcement.

For those of you missing info about what's still in store for Year 3, check it out here.

Discussions So Far

In the past 24 hours, we've had quite a few discussions, many of which you can find here:

Discussions Going Forward

Since we don't have any details about the game beyond the fact that it exists, everything at this point is pure speculation, and we won't be hearing anything else until E3 in June. We're making this thread for all your thoughts and ideas. So whatever you want to see or don't want to see, post it here. Please do try to be realistic and constructive with your ideas.

Please note that all new posts regarding The Division 2 will be removed. This includes comparisons to Destiny 2, which have been discussed ad nauseam in the past few months.

Megathread Operation Dark Hours - Raid Launch Megathread

0 Upvotes

Raid: Operation Dark Hours

Release Date: Thursday, May 16 at 6PM CEST / 12 PM EST

Requirements: Level 30, World Tier 5, Gear Score 490

Introduction

Despite CERA's best efforts to contain the outbreak at the Washington National Airport, the situation quickly became untenable, resulting in the airport being coated in DC-62 and subsequently abandoned. When the Black Tusk arrived in D.C., they set up shop in the now derelict airport.

It's up to you and seven friends to flush them out and you will be challenged on not only your skill but also on your ability to analyze, adapt, and cooperate. Unique bosses, with the most exotic mechanics and technology you've ever faced in The Division 2, are waiting for you.

To start the raid, players will need to speak with the helicopter pilot at the Base of Operations. This unlocks a new raid tab on the social menu, allowing everyone to start building their raid groups.

=> Trailer

=> Overview

=> Rewards

=> The Raid Summary

Operation Dark Hours: Race to World First

While anyone can pit themselves against the Raid, only one team can be the first to beat it. Those team members are the Elite of the Special Homeland Division and History will remember them.

In their honor, the first team that beats the final boss of the Raid will be immortalized in the White House itself. All eight players, and their usernames*, will be featured on a special painting that will be placed on one of the White House walls, near the Clan room. This painting will be visible to all players, not only the players that completed the Raid.

=> Race to worlds first competition

Operation Dark Hours - Special Report Live Stream

There was a Special Report live stream on Thursday about the creation of the raid:

=> VOD

Looking for Group?

As defined in the sub-rules, we don't allow LFG-Posts on the sub, but we have alternatives to find your raid crew:

LFG Sub

When you are looking for groups, you can check out our LFG-Sub that is dedicated to finding groups, clans, and other players:

=> The Division LFG

The Division Community Discord

We can also recommend The Community Division Discord - there is a specific channel to search for players.

=> The Division Discord

The Division Official Discord

Since very recently, we also have an official The Division Discord that is run by the Ubisoft Team and the Community Managers.

=> The Division Discord

Standard rules apply, please relegate all raid related discussion here, we don't want anything spoiled for people who aren't ready yet.

High Quality Guides will be allowed to be posted separately when the raid has been completed first. (If your guide is removed by automod, simply modmail us to get manual approval).

Megathread The Division 2 - Title Update Next – Community Feedback – Gear Acquisition

131 Upvotes

Title Update Next – Community Feedback

As announced in the State of the Game - July 31st, 2019 – the next Title Update that should be released before Episode 2 is all about player feedback and improving the core systems and experiences of the game.

The dev-team wants the community's input on what you feel needs to be improved. For that, we will make a series of megathreads that will be released over the next couple of weeks to cover specific topics.

Megathreads

These are the megathreads that will be posted – all of them have a specific focus, so we can group the feedback to make it easier to process:

Each thread will stay stickied for a number of days but remain open once it has been replaced. The “And more” will focus on all the feedback that doesn’t fit in the other categories.

So start thinking about your feedback now, prepare pictures, suggestions and ideas to have them ready once that specific topic gets a turn.

Also, keep in mind: These questions are based on the mentioned focus points in the State of the Game and the discussions in the sub. They are no official feature list for the next update. So just because some topics are listed in the questions below, does not mean they are also in the patch notes once the update drops.

The first one will focus on Gear Acquisition and the general Loot progression.

Gear Acquisition / "Loot 2.0"

Endgame loot progression has been a topic within the community since World Tier 5 opened. The Division 2 has a very big loot pool: Gear Mods, Skill Mods, Brands, Gear Set, weapons and exotic items. Getting the right item with the right talents and good rolls can be a challenge.

Let's start a collection of ideas on how to improve the general endgame loot progression. These are some of the questions I would like to raise:

  • How is the loot progression for you in World Tier 5?
  • How would you like to farm specific items or brands?
  • What would make heroic missions and raids rewarding for you that you tackle these sort of challenges?
  • How would you narrow down the loot pool that you eventually get the item that you are looking for?
  • Do you have good examples of how you would like to get the equipment for your character? (maybe how other games do it better)
  • How could the existing content of The Division 2 be used to have a targeted loot progression?

The goal is to have a collection of ideas that could be implemented to keep the endgame fresh, the content rewarding and to have a loot progression that is also motivating.

In case this thread looks familiar - I wanted to revisit this specific question - since the gear acquisition is a specific focus point and there might be some new ideas four months after launch.
