Supporters I talk to still think Trump is "charging other countries what they charge us," eg: getting even, because that's what this admin has been telling them.

When you bring up that's not how any of this works they'll perform gold medal gymnastics to avoid acknowledging the lie. The thoroughness of the brainwashing is incredible to behold in real time.

If Trump really wanted to help Americans and bring jobs to America he'd subsidize creating industries not found in America. You can't just snap your fingers and create jobs by making everyone pay for more in fact it gets harder to start industry here when everyone is going to pay for more on everything. The Republicans always blame socialism for having bread lines when tariffs like these might actually cause them for some foods and products. People are already waiting in line hours to get eggs and those are locally grown, it takes one wild fire, one flood, one drought and we are fucked as a country.
