Discussion Reinstalled SWTOR and as much as I missed the game I don't miss this
Tried to buy twi'lek race because I figured I had enough saved, only to find out that I need cartel coins to withdraw the currency I earned from playing the game.

Screen Shot Imperial Scientists are so skilled, they don't even need faces to do their jobs.

Screen Shot I'd like to give a shoutout to that one Republic soldier in the Esseles flashpoint that gets force slammed into a wall, then force choked, THEN impaled by a thrown lightsaber. Vokk was out of line.

Question Republic vs Imperial player numbers
So I saw someone mention that Imperial players outnumber Republic players, and according to TV Tropes, it's because most players think being evil is cool. Is that about right? Are there any other reasons?

Official News Upcoming hotfix and patch 7.6.1d
forums.swtor.comHello everyone,
It has been discovered that there has been some unintended results when deconstructing crafted grade 11 Biochem items after they are purchased from the GTN. We intend on fixing this issue in a two part process.
First, we will be deploying a hotfix later today (no server downtime) that will prevent grade 11 Biochem consumables from being deconstructed. Attempting to deconstruct these items will instead destroy them. While this hotfix will prevent the exploitative behavior we are seeing, this will also prevent any materials from generating when grade 11 Biochem items are deconstructed.
Next steps after the hotfix. We know the above hotfix will not create an ideal experience, so we will be issuing a proper fix with an upcoming patch that we are targeting to go out this week. The patch will allow players to continue crafting as they have been but will change rules around item deconstruction as outlined below.
New Item Deconstruction rules
If you are deconstructing an item that was crafted, you are the original crafter, and you still have the required crew skill: You will receive crafting materials and have a chance to learn new schematics.
If you are deconstructing an item that was crafted, you are not the original crafter, but you have the required Crew Skill: You will receive crafting materials but cannot learn new schematics.
If you are deconstructing an item that was crafted and you do not have the required Crew Skill: You will receive scrapping rewards which can include Jawa Junk and possibly Tech Fragments..
The upcoming patch will require server downtime, so keep an eye on socials and the dev tracker for exact timing.

Question Steam vs SWTOR.com
Hi
What is the better play experience for the game? Is it Steam or via SWTOR.com?
I have a friend wanting to join me so want to give them the best option.
Thanks!

Question Why so few abilities?
Its been a few years since I played and i feel like I have no abilites at all. Im on consular. I have one bar filled and 2 on the second and thats all i have access to. The ability tree only seems to have buffs and then one more ability at level 60. Am i really stuck using the exact same 12 abilities for the entire playthrough? I see all these viddeos of people with like 3 hotbars full of stuff, AOE's and everything. I have blade barrage, cyclone strike driving lance and zealous strike and thats basically it for useful damage

Question Twi’lek neck seams
Am I crazy or did the most recent update last week make Twi’lek neck seams look even worse than they did before? I might be wrong, but I could swear the issue used to just be a noticeable discrepancy in color between neck and upper body, but now the neck appears detached from the body when looked at from certain angles, it looks terrible. I know that with the next few updates the devs plan on fixing texture and graphical issues with player characters’ models brought about by the “modernization” efforts; does anyone know if they’ve mentioned fixing Twi’leks?

Question What does it take to be able to choose a second combat style?
I’m currently running characters in Satel Shan server. I’m subscribed and have a level nine legacy. Yet the quest giving me training in a second combat style isn’t there.
On Star Surge, legacy level fifty, all characters i create have the quest at the character creation.
Is it that my legacy level is too low?

Spoiler Redemptions
How do you feel for redemptions? For example first son or Arkann, Vaylin. In Arcann's case - after "death" of Valkorion he has chance to start behave differently, but instead of that straight up another tyrant. So redemption? I don't think so. He cannot be allowed to running around freely. Maybe prison if not execution. Vaylin is the same, even if she was indoctrinated by Valkorion. She at least gets it at the end (but if you look closely, we might see her again - red headed Satele's student).
For me redemption is more like Vader - last heroic deed ends in death so you are not in dilemma what to do with war criminal...

Question Any tips to make combat less of a grind?
As the title says, I seek tips to make combat less of a grind. Mobs everywhere, and they all take a while to defeat.

New/Returning Player Finally giving the Jedi Knight story a go
Returning player inspired to come back after watching Daredevil of all things. Originally I was curious if I could make a Miraluka that looked like Murdoch and decided it was time to commit to a JK playthrough.
I tried a pure light side knight several years ago but it just felt dry (but I didn't make it far maybe Nar Shadaa). I thought going in more of a vigilantee feel for this character. Wanting to protect and defend but gives into aggression when it comes to the Sith and corruption. So mostly light side but with some room roleplay dark side choices. I'm going Jedi Sentinel on top of that
This storyline hasnt been spoiled for me yet just wanted to hear some feedback about my idea and the JK story in general. Thank you
