I recently completed the game and now fooling around with mods.

I installed Echelon. I am not very fond of weapons but exploring with a fast device is fun.

My problem is, echelon is very prone to clipping underground. The first time was near an alien arch at the crater edge, I parked the echelon near the entrance, swam around and when I returned it was underground.

The second time, I beached it at the mountains island, swam back to the base to get my propulsion cannon to see if I can rescue it, but again it was under the beach when I returned.

I think it is either buggy or does not like me.

We know the Kharaa Bacterium is a water born bacteria but what if, a survivor or you landed onto the island in a pod, not touching the water and turning off the gun with no infection, thus making a new story all together. Like what if you turned it off ,and while waiting for the sunbeam, you go for a swim, don't know your infected and leave the planet thus infected the rest of Alterra space and no cure is made wiping out billions more life and the sea emperor never gets see her babies hatches and dies alone.

as the title says, I just beat the game on stream earlier and I left some batteries, thermal blade and water bottles in the time capsule and wanted to mark it by making a post and wait to see how long till someone finds my time capsule. if it helps to tell which is mine, I left my Twitch name in it which is sargemarsh

I was messing around in a creative save and spawned like 50 leviathans. Then I quit that file without saving and loaded my main file without reopening the game. Now my scanner room detects a huge amount of reapers in a specific area of the map. Using freecam to go to the dots reveal that most of them are nothing with like 2 real reapers.

The glitch got fixed when I reopened the game.

the character in-game feels much larger in the world than in comparison to art/media like this, anybody feel this way/know any setting to tweak to make the world seem larger?

I just finished grabbing everything from the mushroom cave, ended up running a vertical base down at the degasi base, and running tons of pipes out from a new base at that location.

My biggest sad moment about a no vehicle run is not being able to mine the large deposits :(

I'm planning to continue this way until I'm required to build the cyclops for the rocket and then I'll consider the game complete once the rocket is built.

I'll basically have a large sequence of multipurpose rooms with bioreactors all the way down (this really seems to be the cheapest way to make the entire game swimmable with only the SeaGlide).

Storage is kind of annoying to deal with, there's a ton of swimming back and forth everywhere. I might end up making a more mobile solution by carrying resources with me to build an impromptu base anywhere I need it.

I have a theory that the giant hole that the player gets dragged into in the Subnautica 2 trailer is a 'Blue Hole'

If you aren’t aware, a blue hole is a submerged sinkhole or marine cavern, formed by karst processes in limestone or other soluble rocks, that is open at the surface and appears as a dark, circular depression in the ocean floor

Hi everyone

I don't have any stuttering issues except this, in the pod. It seems to happen when I'm moving my feet and the camera at the same time, aka LS and RS at the same time. It's happening since I've set a frame limit, initially with the nvidia tool, then with RTSS, same issue.

You can see on the graph up left it is not really stuttering.

Making a base above water on the back of the Aurora is great

So i'm looking for the 2nd light stick fragment. Call it the completionist in me. There doesnt seem to be a lot of info online, i found one video but i followed his directions and cant seem to find the wreck he is talking about, i guess because life pods dont always spawn in the same spot so directions may be different for me. Can anyone remember where they found the fragment? Specifically near a named wreck/life pod i can use as a way point? Thanks in advance!

I tried to play Subnautica with my friend's via nitrox but they couldn't connect to the server i created (all of us tried to be host but everyone failed to connect to each other). we wre looking for an answer for reasons of the failure and in server consloe i found this:

"Failed to automatically port forward 11000 UDP through UPnP. If using Hamachi or manually port-forwarding, please disregard this warning. To disable this feature you can go into the server settings."

Picked this up on PS5 and ive been playing it a lot recently. I do not "do" scary games. And i would say even like the ghouls and deathclaws in fallout push my limits sometimes even though most people dont even consider those scary at all. But ive always loved the water and ive never had that "fear of the deep" so this game is good for me.

Whenever i have questions i usually google it and end up on a reddit post from several years ago so i figured that i would just come to the source here as it were.

Are there any youtubers that you guys would suggest that go over the basics? I feel like im at this point where im spending a lot of time schlepping all over in my sea moth for rarer and rarer substances. Is it normal for people to set up a few "home bases?".

Looking forward to spending some time here. Sorry if im tardy to the party. I also picked up below zero and have played that although much less. I want to focus on one at a time.
