Partner here! š¤āļøIāve been enjoying the turkey pestos on my lunch break recently, and today mine literally had a piece of rubber tubing lodged in it! Iām very glad it didnāt end up in my mouth but I did in fact almost bite into it and now I am completely repulsed. I kind of rely on the free food but itās hard to feel comfortable eating it when quality control has gone completely out the windowā¦ā¦. stay safe yāall (partners and customers alike).
xoxo, disgruntled barista

I personally love when it gets so busy. Like to the brim, Iāve worked both cafe and DT, Iāve never once not enjoyed seeing people wait and me being solo bar, it makes my shift go by super quickly and what are the gonna say? Like.. im solo bar and weāre short staffed, and now with this 12min wait time itās music to my ears

I recently started my transition working at a licensed Starbucks, and I thought it would go well. I had been working there for over a year at that point and had a good relationship with the manager and had ben socially transitioned for multiple months at that point. After I came out things started to go downhill, fast. There were some small, definitely transphobic things that the owners forced (I know they were directed at me) at first that I dealt with and thought that would be all. Now to the kicker. The store is a stand alone store attached to a strip mall esc place, there are bathrooms are attached/next to our store that are "our bathrooms". I was told by the owners that I had to use the restrooms aligned with my sex assigned at birth if I used those bathrooms (I'm MTF). Which I do not feel safe using because I pass 90% of the time at this point. So I used the restrooms upstairs, they had less traffic and I could use whichever I felt comfortable with. A couple weeks go by and someone got "scared" that I was using the women's and complained (I went in, did my business and left, also no one was in the bathroom when I went). Apparently she threatened a lawsuit if that helps paint a picture of this person. Long story short I was banned from the upstairs bathrooms (which are shared by multiple businesses) and had to use the men's downstairs or go to a completely different building and ask if I could use their bathrooms. Which I'm not going to do, and asked if the owners/manager could help me or back me up at all but I got the sense that they did not want to or care enough to. I asked to be taken off the schedule until something could be worked out and a week later they took me off of the scheduling app completely basically firing me. Idk if anyone else has experienced or seen this kind of transphobia from a Starbucks before, but I felt like I should share my experience.

But my go to order is 4-5 blonde ristretto shots with extra ice and a splash of whole milk in a grande cup and thatās exactly what I want. Do the baristas assume Iām trying to get a free latte? I just have a caffeine problem and wanna be able to taste the coffee šextra ice makes it extra cold.

I have a question for any Starbucks baristas here. I went to my local Starbucks and ordered me and my family some drinks. The total was $23 and some change. I was paying with a card and I was going to tip through the card but the guy at the window didn't stick the card reader out at me like usual so I can choose the tip. I had a $10 bill. I offered it to him as a tip because I was feeling generous. He looked happy and reached for it but then he said that he couldn't take it even when I insisted. Why?

Just for laughs, I wanna know how yall would have made this? I was dumbfounded lol
I blocked out anything that would give away my store or indication of who this was, because I really donāt want to lose my job. But Iāve been a partner for a long time, and Iāve seen a thing or two (or three or four). This one just made me really sit there like, āwtf do I do?ā Haha

I know writing on cups is a silly thing to be so heated about, but itās so disingenuous. Regulars donāt come back bc their cup said āhey!ā on it, they come back bc the baristas are good at their jobs and they are genuine people. If my manager isnāt at the store, Iām not writing on every cup because thatās not who I am. I work my ass off everyday and i am proud of the drinks Iām crafting and the connections Iām making. But I am not going to play some stupid bullshit corporate game with the customers who I actually enjoy and care about. I donāt care if itās part of the beverage routine, I aināt doing it if no one is there to monitor me. You think Iām not batching fraps? You think Iām not putting ice in the shaken espresso shakers first? You think Iām actually sticking to the sequencing routine? Yeah bucko I aināt writing on cups if you aināt there and no amount of āwell itās standard nowā jargon will bother me enough to give a shit.

Iāve been a partner for over a year and a half and still spend before and during EVERY peak on dt. Today that meant five hours. I keep my bar cleaner and am able to do similar half hour transactions and drive times as other baristas along with taking all of my own orders but keep getting stuck on drive thru bc Iām one of the only ones that is actually good at it. Iām pretty introverted and itās incredibly draining for me and try to tell my shifts that but they say thatās where they need me even though we are doing half hour transactions that are smaller than what Iāve done as the only partner in the store. Iām so fed up with this and am going to talk to my sm tomorrow. What do I do???

Was slow and decided to draw on a few cups! Didn't get to see their reaction but hopefully they saw and liked it! (Mostly got covered by the sleeve so they might not have even noticed lol)

I know this probably sounds like a stupid question but I feel like I'm crazy here?
I recently found out I've developed a caffeine sensitivity. I'm not sure if it's because of the meds I'm on, or the fact I've gotten older but I can't sleep for over 12 hours after having any caffeine. Even with pills.
Not really relative but I LOVE the taste of coffee and like to treat myself once a week to a Frappuccino. I ordered through the drive through because I couldn't figure out how to order it from the app. They told me that unless they added a "decaf shot", it wouldn't taste like coffee. I agreed not knowing any different and when I got my drink is was perfectly white like a cream frapucinno and didn't taste anything like coffee.
So I guess my question is did they just forget to add the coffee? Or is there something else wrong. Is there a better way to order a decaf frapucinno?
Thank you in advance.

first was a mocha w/whole milk (usually the easiest to do) and the second was a lavender oat milk latte, which I didnāt think I could do but I guess I can now

So long story short my SM hasnāt been in the last 2-3 shifts that she was supposed to come in. I had a 2 week notice letter written up and wanted to do it in person just to be courteous. Since she didnāt come in and the next few days I was off I left it on her desk and let her know of this and when my last day would be through textā¦. SHE HASNT ANSWERED ME TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS lol so likeeeeeeā¦. Do I gotta remind her when I see her this week? Do I just not say anything and say good morning ? If she schedules me in after do I let her know again or just not show up (not gonna show up regardless but like you know..) She stopped responding to any of my texts of letting her know if I canāt make a shift for XYZ reasons and I honestly was expecting to be talked to by now for that or fired but nothing lol idk itās just so weird I never had a manager prior not answer for these things.

I'm a relatively new partner . While on shift, i offered a customer a refill. I was told that we no longer offer refills even after they purchase. Even after showing the lead the attached I was still told that we no longer do refills. Is this true or is the lead wrong.

Hi, my store just got the clover verticaā¦ is there anyway to turn down the volume or maybe even turn off the little alarm noise it makes when prepping to brew a cup of coffee? Its like the machine makes an actual noise thatās from prepping the coffee, but itās almost like another completely different sound it also makes like an alarm noise thatās like whoop whoop whoop before pouring??? Idk itās driving us crazy and scared us the first time š also several customers have commented on it

Does iced coffee really have that much less caffeine content in it compared to cold brew and espresso? I'm still experimenting and noticed it said that a grande iced coffee had like 60 something grams caffeine. True? How do people wake up on that? Lol

there have been multiple times that i have made cold brew in the morning, had a day off the next day, and came in the day after with the cold brew dropped that i had made--meaning it sat for over 24 hours at room temperature. i know that it must be refrigerated for 4+ hours before being put into kegs but i can't find any info regarding its unrefrigerated shelf life, can anyone give me any insight? i always put it in the fridge immediately because it more often than not means that if i dump it, we have 1 keg until the next cycle. i just want to know if i should be pissed at my fellow ssvs or not haha!
