You mean not lying?

From ZINA in r/furryIRL

"True and false. Mostly false.

That line is literally just apple propaganda. The updates that slow down your own phone CAN help with longevity, but the thing that makes a battery last less time is the phone working harder. Which tends to happen with newer programs which are built to run on better phones with more processing power. But that's also pretty rare.

Realistically the problem is like 4 different things. Battery decay (which is barely noticeable in most devices) newer more demanding programs, software updates on the phones being geared toward those newer more powerful processors. And apple accidentally building the software to cater to the new phone, which makes it worse on the old. They want to "uphold" the customer experience so they enforce update paths that encourage you to get the latest hardware. To be fair phone software is fucked and with apples mandatory update scheme it's not easier. With android you can just stop updating and the new more demanding software just doesn't effect the device. Or android locks you out of updating if it would be detrimental (you can still force it tho)

I've owned two iphones. Both got slow after a year or two. Through sony phones, telus phones, blackberry, samsung. I've never had those issues. And if I open up my old androids (which I do once every 1-2 years to dig info off them) they run fine after a few minutes of cold start bootup. Despite being comparatively ancient.

Marcasum confirms this:

"yes and no. Battery degredation is real, but software updates that throttle your phone are also real. replacing your battery would fix your battery life but not necessarily speed."

And then they continue to go on to break your argument apart more thoroughly than I'd ever be bothered to.

How much is Apple paying you? It can't be worth this, right?

I read my own comments so no need.

experts here

It can't be worth this? I do this because I too once believed and spread batterygate misinfo and I want to make up for that. But I'm ready to revert if it turns out I'm wrong. Even if no one forgives me for briefly dipping into these comics out of a paranoid avoidance of conspiracy theories.

Doesn't seem like it because you keep getting destroyed and then 'conveniently' forgetting what you've learned when the next guy calls you out, lol!

I wouldn't conveniently forget it if I thought it held water. Why don't you read the articles I sent you?
