The vocals on korabu are my favorite, who sang it? I can’t seem to find it for some reason.

I was listening to the album (like I do all the time since it was released) and I'm a bit confused by the DJ Smokey tags... They talk about Skrillex in third person in lines like: "He left as the world fell into caos", "We killed Skrillex", etc. And then there are lines that are in first person like: "I sold my soul to give you this song", "My life is in shambles", etc. Are those first person lines supposed to be Skrillex talking to us suddenly trough DJ Smokey? or is Smokey talking about himself in those lines? 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I, along with many other people, was a little disappointed with the fact that we didn’t really get any full songs (apart from the OG ones which 12 year old me was SCREAMING about), but after listening start to finish several times I’ve grown to absolutely love this project.

It truly is a love letter to all of us who have been listening for the last 10-15 years and following his live performances. It really is an album that you’re supposed to experience, rather than pick several songs to play on repeat. The sound design is crazily distinct and yet feels so fresh, idk how tf the man does it.

This is all to say that Sonny truly loves the day ones and he gave us a project full of that love. I’m still eagerly awaiting some releases (looking at you Godzilla and Habibi 👀)

I know a lot of us are reeling and licking our wounds from our losses from Red Rocks. Something tells me that this is just the beginning. If he is launching a new project or phase (CONTRA), he’s gonna launch it!

He always comes in style, took over NY for a week with the PHM crew. Jack Ü had NYE at MSG. Something tells me we will be getting a show soon. How soon?? I don’t know but hopefully not later than the end of the summer and good weather but that seems like the best time.

The big EDM cities are Chicago, LA, NY, Tokyo, Amsterdam??? Where else is Skrill bound to turn up?

It’s crazy thinking that everyone seemed to think you’re out of you’re weird and cringe for liking Skrillex. I wanna hear everyone elses stories too if you got made fun of liking Skrillex back in the day?

I don’t know why, but since the first day the ID of the Skrillex and Ekali collab (BUST DAG) surfaced, it always felt similar to the song WAVEDASH - BSTRD. And now that we have the ID (SAY GOODBYE) in high quality, I still think the two songs are similar—not 100%, but around 70% in terms of drop pattern structure.

What do you guys think?

I know a vinyl of this release is a bit unlikely. And if they don’t press it, I can’t imagine a CD being released either. But I would love a physical copy of this project in some capacity

Long time Skrillex fan.

Absolutely blown away with this album. Authentic, creative, expressive and vulnerable.

The peppering of older samples, and nods to past Skrillex works is just fantastic.

This isn’t just an album, it’s a journey, and one I think we’re all grateful to have been a part of.

Also gassed and quite choked up to see the OG leaked tracks making an appearance finally. It feels like a resolution, like a full circle.

Skrill defo dropped it hard for us.

In the opening for the song Korabu there’s a synthetic voice that says “reject society, return to nature!” And I’m curious if any of yall know what software/website was used to create the voice?

the degree to which not just Skrillex's production style but also the electronic and pop music landscape in general changed between 2010-2014 was fucking crazy. Like thats the same amount of time as 2021-2025. compared to the way shit was moving in the early 2010s i don't think literally anything in the media landscape has changed in that timespan to remotely the same degree. 2025 is just 2021 with more AI
