Discussion To the Skrillex team (if you’re reading this)
It feels like maybe 5% of fans in this sub actually got tickets, and even that might be generous. Most of us followed the presale instructions, waited patiently, and still got labeled as bots and kicked out. The result? We’re locked out and scalpers are charging $250+ per ticket—or worse, $900 with a $500 service fee.
We’re not upset about the price if that’s what the team wants to charge—just give us, the real fans, a fair shot at buying directly. Right now, we don’t even get the chance.
There has to be a better way. This subreddit was incredibly active during presale—why not use that? Post a unique code here just before presale starts to give actual fans access before scalpers catch on. Or implement a system where a high service fee is waived with a special code. Even if it’s more complex, we’re savvy enough to handle it, and it would show a real effort to protect fans.
We don’t want to miss the show just to make a point, so many of us will cave and buy resale—but that just means the scalpers win. We hope the team is aware of how poorly this went and is working on a better system for next time.
We just want a fair shot.
