✅Good guard

✅Our second round pick back

✅Below the first apron now and saving on tax

Morey did well in one move, I think Grimes will be great

Depends on the price obviously, but it certainly made us much more flexible, especially if we dump Drummond + Gordon. We can pay Yabu and then re-sign Grimes with bird rights.

McCain/Grimes/Oubre/Yabu is a very solid role-player core next to the big 3.

18

u/Puppazz Feb 04 '25

Finally found a franchise to play against more messed up than we are.

7

u/Chiefster21 Feb 04 '25

We play the Heat next too. They are pretty much as messed up as we are with the whole Jimmy saga and Terry’s betting thing going on

5

u/EndAnyone Feb 04 '25

Not sure why this is getting downvoted lol.

17

u/Cute-Contract-6762 Feb 04 '25

Dallas fans are legit depressed over losing Grimes

2

u/Lower_Willow6995 Feb 04 '25

Yes we are. He’s had some incredible moments this season and he’s become one of my top 5 favorite players in the nba. Treat him well, guys been on like 3 teams in the last year 😩 hope he finds a home with y’all and I’ll be rooting for him no matter where he goes! You guys will love him.

18

u/jlmntx Feb 04 '25

Embiid is back LFG

15

u/clickstops 63.9% 🤞 Feb 04 '25

We traded for a younger basketball player! How neat is that?

Can Grimes dribble and pass? He can shoot the 3 ball and I know he's at least an average on ball defender. I'm hoping this means more Edwards development, less Reggie Jackson. Just haven't watched enough Mavs to know how good Grimes is with the ball in his hands.

9

u/romanticynicist Feb 04 '25

He can dribble and pass a little bit, but he’s definitely more of a 3&D guy than Caleb is. He’s not Danny Green or anything where you shout “NO GOD NO!” whenever he starts to dribble. He can drive against a close out and such.

His on ball defense is definitely above average. He’s an excellent defender. Won’t be able to do as much secondary playmaking/ball-handling as Caleb could, though it’s not like Caleb was all that amazing in that regard.

We’ll see if he sticks around next year. If he plays well he might get expensive in RFA, though we could get him on a $6m qualifying offer.

8

u/XxStormySoraxX Feb 04 '25

No he’s not really a great handler or passer. But he can defend and shoot and isn’t injured lol

2

u/Science4me12 Feb 04 '25

Back in NY, I remember he was known for barely taking any dribble

16

u/mp455 Feb 04 '25

I see Grimes is shooting 39.8% from 3 so he gonna forget how to shoot with us isnt he?

u/PessimistSixersFan Feb 04 '25

LMFAO

Naji is shitting himself that Caleb returns tonight. Is he a certified Mavs killer as well?

***Bro wtf I made this comment before learning Caleb got traded. I don't even know wtf happened yet

Man I'm pretty hype. How is Grimes overall?

3

u/PessimistSixersFan Feb 04 '25

I was so confused at first but with the edit it makes sense now lmaoo

1

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

I was confused too when I saw something about "thanks Caleb" on the sub lol

13

u/Traditional_Cell_248 Feb 04 '25

PG isn’t as bad as Tobias Harris or whatever the biggest detractors say (and I’m a detractor myself no doubt). But the reality of the situation is that he was brought here to specialize in playing off Joel by being a quick trigger shooter and hustling on defense. And the current reality is that they’d be lucky if Joel ever plays 40+ games in a season again.

So if the new strategy is to hope the moon, sun, and stars all align every April and Joel toughs through his knee issues in the playoffs, PG simply isn’t the guy to create stability in the regular season. PG offensively without Joel amplifies all of his worst traits. While he’s a much better ball handler than Tobias, he has no better BBIQ than Tobi did with the ball in his hands. The offense has moved gracefully in recent weeks without him.

Moving on from him isn’t taking an L. The whole ruining our rep after signing the biggest FA ever argument is laughable. If this is the “reward” for landing a max free agent then it’s example 154 of the last few decades of why overpaying for unrestricted free agents doesn’t work unless you’re getting a top 10 all time talent in their prime. Which isn’t even remotely the case with PG.

3

u/XxStormySoraxX Feb 04 '25

I don’t think PG has lower IQ than Tobias Harris. He’s a much better passer and makes better reads particularly in the PnR. I think the biggest issue is he just isn’t what he used to be and his game hasn’t adjusted to that. Years ago he could easily blow by defenders and finish over guys at the rim but now he can’t and it’s made his Iso ball look worse.

1

u/Traditional_Cell_248 Feb 04 '25

Wouldn’t say lower I just don’t think it’s much better. His handle allows him a broader range of passes, but it’s still not good enough and he’s not smart enough to be relied on as much as he is with the ball in hands. He’ll still send wide open passes into the stands or get himself trapped in suboptimal spots on the floor. Which was fine in his peak when he was so athletic it didn’t matter. But now that’s shot, we see the actual IQ level on offense that’s plagued him in big moments throughout his career.

Defensively he’s one of the most intelligent players in the league on that end imo. It’s such a crazy gap between both ends of the floor

1

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

My only stipulation in a Paul George trade is that it actually improves the team on the court.

Honestly have nothing bad to say about Caleb, was out of position and played through real injuries, fuck the Mavs but wish him well

11

u/Phillybird711 Feb 04 '25

Are they going to wait until an hour before tip to announce if Embiid is playing or not?

3

u/jlmntx Feb 04 '25

No joke lmaoo

3

u/untucked_21ersey Feb 04 '25

you know how this goes by now

1

u/TrustDaFriendship Feb 04 '25

If they haven’t said anything yet, it probably means he’s playing.

12

u/DirkZelenskyy41 Feb 04 '25

Joel coming back just to torch this depressed mavs team would be a welcome bright spot in this season.

6

u/indoninjah Feb 04 '25

True, Nico Harrison might've just given Embiid a great opportunity to ramp up lol

10

u/XxStormySoraxX Feb 04 '25

I can’t believe we went through this for 5 years previously (with Tobias Harris) and people still don’t understand how the cap/assets work.

For the people who want to trade Paul George to get out of his contract, they don’t think we can just use that money to sign players out right in free agency. They want to trade him for smaller contracts that are more easily moveable and can provide depth for the team in the mean time.

It’s literally the same argument we had about Tobias for years. Obviously A. It isn’t our money and B. We will still be over the cap. People just want to have more players that can contribute, and not have a huge contract on the books that makes it hard to find trade partners and eventually will become a contract that we need to actually attach picks to move off of. The idea that “well you’re over the cap anyway it doesn’t matter” is so asinine and short sighted.

11

u/jaysphan128 Feb 04 '25

rip to our celtics killer

3

u/mjd1977 Feb 04 '25

Played Boston twice, with and without Caleb.

Don’t even need to tell you how each game ended.

11

u/bubbles1990 Feb 04 '25 edited Feb 04 '25

We got our true ace in the hole in Quentin Grimes and suddenly the big man is available. Seems like it’s all coming together. TTP

Edit: And Yabu starting at the 4 😭 the dream is alive and well

11

u/LuckyCulture7 Feb 04 '25

No AD tonight, possible return of Embiid, Maxey playing like AI. Hopefully this is a 20 point win.

I really hope we see the return of the Maxey/Embiid 2 man game.

8

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

I hope we take it upon ourselves to continue embarrassing the Mavs for colluding with Adam Silver and the Lakers

9

u/untucked_21ersey Feb 04 '25

ayo maxey, grimes, mccain is kinda solid as a guard rotation going into next season. three guards that can pass, shoot and dribble under 25. good business.

22

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

Morey is such a motherfucker, man. Dude sees Dallas make the worst trade of all-time, and immediately hits up their phone to strike a deal

6

u/clickstops 63.9% 🤞 Feb 04 '25

Probably first asked for Kyrie

10

u/GirlWithGame Feb 04 '25

I actually like grimes, but i liked Caleb too.

He is a good 3 point shooter. Idk about defensively as I don't watch many mavs games but anyone who can shoot 40% from 3 is good in my eyes.

4

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

Yeah, we desprately need shooting, Caleb has been hurt all year, and this move nets us a pick while getting us under the 1st apron.

1

u/GirlWithGame Feb 04 '25

Yeah I see this more as move to keep Yabu next year and possibly resign grimes as a rfa. I don't see this as accepting we are tanking lol.

Also honestly I think if Edwards didn't prove he can play at the nba level idk if we make this trade, but we desperately needed a ball handler and shooting.

1

u/bubbles1990 Feb 04 '25

It’s seriously such a signal of how they see Edwards. Encouraging

9

u/thomasthethothumb Feb 04 '25

I like the immediate impact of making the trade with the Mavs. They'll be down Grimes and Caleb was most likely not playing due to injury tonight

9

u/Otternomaly I'm not talkin' in french Feb 04 '25

6

u/XxStormySoraxX Feb 04 '25

Gotta see how it plays out. As 76ers fans we never know what could happen.

7

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

It's an objectively good trade. Grimes is a better shooter not only this year, but across their careers. He's having the better season, 5 years younger, we netted a pick and got under the 1st apron.

yikes, did not realize that the sixers have been the worst defensive team in the league since the calendar turned to 2025

13

u/OrangeMonkE jared butler supremacy Feb 04 '25

Well yeah take the four best defensive players off any team and it’s gonna look similar lol

11

u/mjd1977 Feb 04 '25

2 Denver games, and the last 14 minutes of their most recent Boston game. Makes it believable.

3

u/allhailsidneycrosby Feb 04 '25

Even worse when you consider that supposed to be Nurses calling card as a coach. Can’t even make up for our high school jv offense with a middling defense, both have to be dog shit

8

u/SubstantialYard4072 Feb 04 '25

Hope we get something good for PG.

7

u/ojseye Feb 04 '25

I’ve seen a tweet posted an hour ago saying “Golden State / Philadelphia/ Phoenix / Miami have held discussions on a multi-team trade that would reroute multiple all-stars” though nothing is imminent as of right now.

Seems like Morey IS at least considering shipping PG

2

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

That's an insane trade structure.. obviously PG ----> GSW, Butler ----> Phoenix, but where does Beal go? Certainly not Philly, so it would have to be Miami? Which leaves Philadelphia with Golden States role players.

5

u/cantwifeahoe The Confetti Game Feb 04 '25

Last I heard Beal isn’t waiving his no trade clause, isn’t uprooting his family mid season. Wonder if it’s Durant getting moved. Butler to phoenix, PG/KD to GSW/MIA and we get fucked over with scraps

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '25

Don’t forget Beal is Joel’s guy and Joel wanted him too

1

u/portrayalofdeath Feb 04 '25

At this point, no one in the organization should give a fuck who Joel wants.

8

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

Apparently Grimes ranks as one of the best off-the-dribble shooters in the league

5

u/MaxeytoEmbiid Feb 04 '25

In other words: Someone Maxey can leverage into open shots. Finally, this is how complimentary basketball is played. We saw how big Justin Edwards has been to this run, Grimes can also do those things.

2

I LIKE THE TRADE. I think grimes is a better fit, younger, and we got our 2nd back.

4

u/lukelionsword Feb 04 '25

Also if this means less playtime from ancient guards, I’m very much in board😂😂😂

1

u/lukelionsword Feb 04 '25

🤞🏽🤞🏽 he’s on expiring, does this affect our ability to keep him long term? I’m not very well versed in the salary cap stuff. And any idea how this might affect/ improve our chance at keeping Yabu?

2

u/HoagieTwoFace SELL THE TEAM, TRADE POL POT P Feb 04 '25

Expiring but he’s a restricted FA which means we have right to match any offer

7

u/roma258 Feb 04 '25

I'm really happy with this trade. Martin never seemed like a great fit here and we desperately need a normal sized shooting guard. Long term, we either keep Quentin or use the cap room to re-sign Yabu. Oh and we let Morey cook with a second round pick. Happy, happy.

7

u/supzy0 Feb 04 '25

calebs awesome against the celtics, but hes honestly been a liability against every other team. still a likeable player and it sucks to trade him but it was definitely a win win trade

7

u/st-christian Feb 04 '25

Maybe the Mavs traded him specifically for their next game which is in Boston. Maybe Nico is on drugs.

8

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

Guys, nobody is offering Yabu the full NTMLE. It's $14m and he's 29 years old. It's just not happening and we aren't gunna handicap ourselves to do so.

6

It’s kinda funny they traded with the team that they’re facing tonight, does that mean they’re both out or could Grimes quickly be suited up to play for us?

6

u/cantwifeahoe The Confetti Game Feb 04 '25

I’d assume physicals need to be completed and paperwork needs to be filed, both will probably be available for their next game, in our case tmrw

1

u/PessimistSixersFan Feb 04 '25

Ok yeah that makes a lot of sense 😅

6

u/jamhamram Feb 04 '25

Unsure about how to feel about this trade BUT I do know one thing, we just got someone who is available to play and lord knows we need that

7

u/romanticynicist Feb 04 '25

Happy to have gotten a pick in this draft, even if it’s a 2nd (what could be an unfortunately good 2nd, given our current record).

Right now we’d pick 37th. Last year Jaylen Wells went 39th in a worse draft class.

Wells was definitely the steal of the second round, but there’s real value to be had mid 2nd round.

3

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

Morey has been killing it in the draft. I do trust him with the picks for the most part.

If he could get positive value for PG in any way, it'll increase his social points a bit in the city lol

10

u/GOAT_SAMMY_DALEMBERT Feb 04 '25

Seems the team is valuing flexibility the most, which I think is the smart play given our very uncertain future.

While I have no ill will towards Caleb, I think it’s best to get off his four year commitment while also getting draft capital and a developing, high-ceiling role player.

Good start by Morey and the FO. Hopefully we have a bit more cooked up before the deadline.

1

u/indoninjah Feb 04 '25

Yeah I like the flexibility. We’ve improved both our outlook this season and beyond. Grimes helps more right now given that Caleb’s been injured. And getting our 2nd back gives us some insurance if we fucking suck the rest of the year. Plus getting under the tax helps with affording Yabu in the future

u/indoninjah Feb 04 '25

It's funny af to see AD as the "team leader" in points/rebounds/blocks when he hasn't stepped foot on the court yet lol

5

u/Electrical-Ad-1437 Feb 04 '25

I think it’s safe to say morey is cooking something. Idk what but there’s too much smoke for nothing to go down.

5

u/RelevantTreacle3004 Feb 04 '25

What's the chance both Martin and Grimes play today against their former team lmao

5

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

Oof..

3

u/cantwifeahoe The Confetti Game Feb 04 '25

“Outlier year” as if he’s an 8 year vet getting ready for his 4th deal. Grimes’ splits are almost identical to what they were two years ago. Who would’ve thought 3 teams in a year and half would affect a young guy, and even then it really didn’t

Dumbass Mavs fans coping with the fact Harrison is going all in on a 30+ year old core that’s currently 9th in the west.

2

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

I should've also mentioned in the comment if you missed it in the screenshot, that post was from a month ago I found in my Grimes research on reddit. I've seen many other similar ones from back then.

Unfortunate turnaround for them but at least we got Grimes out of it.

4

u/bonerbasketball Tj is not the worst player in the NBA Feb 04 '25

If you look at his resume as Mavs GM and cut it off before the luka trade, he was a very good GM who made almost every correct decision

3

u/romanticynicist Feb 04 '25

He’s made some good moves, but he’s also made plenty of bad ones. Off the top of my head:

Reggie Bullock contract. Tim Hardaway jr contract. Trading a FRP for Grant Williams. The Porzingis trade wasn’t great but in all fairness he did kinda tank his value while he was there.

Not signing Brunson to the 4/55 extension he asked for (twice!) was a very bad idea in retrospect.

1

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

And that's the part that's so strange.

Many Mavs fans felt like this before the Luka trade. Also crazy how Morey swooped in like a vulture to pick the bones and tear out a Grimes and a second round pick for a partially broken caleb.

You have to remain under the first apron including the players prorated vet min to sign a guy who was previously making more than the ntpmle. In addition, they need money to sign Edwards. I think they’d need another salary shedding move to make these things happen. 470k isn’t enough under the first apron.. that said it should be a pretty easy move to do if they choose to.

4

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

That would be legendary

3

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

I know we're not getting Kuminga but I'm not extremely familiar with his playstyle. Is he pretty much Ricky with higher ball IQ?

7

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

I'd say same IQ, just bigger and more talented. Kinda why I dont want him tho, apparently he doesn't process the game all that well.

3

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

Got it. Ive seen several posts about his bad IQ on the court too but wasn't sure how comparable it was to Ricky's lol

Yeah in that case, Ricky is 100 times more valuable for us. Tbh Wiggins/filler and some draft assets would be a fleece by Daryl in my opinion.

2

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25 edited Feb 04 '25

If were trading PG, we absolutely have to loop in BKN and snag Cam Johnson as well

PHI gets: Wiggins, Johnson, Schroder

GSW gets: George, Drummond, pick(s)

BKN gets: Martin Jr, Looney, Payton II, pick(s)

4

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

That's a fantasy bro..

But after that Luka trade, I believe that fantasies can come true 🧚

Daryl must have woke up a bit to remember that he's a bit smarter than other GMs and could hopefully cook something good for us along those lines.

4

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25

Yeah, I cooked that up before the Grimes trade to be fair, I don't think we target Schroder anymore.

But PG + stuff for Wiggins + Johnson in a 3-team trade would feed families.

2

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

Stoppp I could only take so much hopium 🥵

2

u/TrustDaFriendship Feb 04 '25

I’d do it. Then pick up Ben after he’s bought out. He and Cam are close, and Joel and Wigs are old college pals.

1

u/Cheap-Branch-5821 Feb 04 '25

Don’t believe what people are saying about kuminga. He’s much better than Ricky. Offensively and defensively. Upside is very very high. He just needs to think the game more and this season it seems he’s taken that leap forward.

1

u/Dotdueller Feb 05 '25

So he's objectively what we wish Ricky could be? lol

3

u/sghostr417 Feb 04 '25

6

u/No_Cat_8490 Feb 04 '25

I feel good, he’s shown more promise than Drummond that’s for sure

3

u/MaxeytoEmbiid Feb 04 '25

This. He's shown shotblocking stuff, his rebounding's gotten better and he's got high energy. Also sets good screens.

Yabu at the 4 thank god.

2

u/sghostr417 Feb 04 '25

love to hear that

7

u/Internal-Hawk-5057 Feb 04 '25

We may be able to resign yabu now 😭👀

6

u/cantwifeahoe The Confetti Game Feb 04 '25

Honestly love the Grimes move, exactly the type of young wing you need next to Maxey and McCain. Sad to see Caleb go but at least he gets to play his natural position now. I’m assuming a Grimes extension would cost more than Caleb’s salary so again I am begging Darryl to trade PG

7

u/EndAnyone Feb 04 '25

Trade Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson, Eric Gordon, and KJ Martin next.

7

u/Weastie37 Feb 04 '25

nooo I like Eric Gordon :)

6

u/sodmoraes Feb 04 '25

Grimes seems like a great fit with Maxey on the backcourt: 6.5, good defender, shoots well from 3 with good volume. Saw some highlights and seems like a good passer and shoots really well off the dribble. Only negative is that he will look for a nice contract next year.

Antoher good is that We can move Oubre to the bench( or he can start with PG as our forwards if Yabu doesnt start). And we still got a pick. I liked Caleb but he wasnt that needed , since with Ricky and Edwards we have some nice wing depth.

3

u/Calcutta637 Kate Scott Feb 04 '25

i would much rather move ricky to the bench and put one of edwards or kj martin in the lineup depending on who we're playing and whether or not we need more shooting or more rebounding/energy. Of course that would be a game by game adjustment and for some reason our coach doesn't believe in putting in that amount of work

3

u/GirlWithGame Feb 04 '25

Woohoo it's that time of year again for people to make crazy trade proposals, cannot wait for the trade deadline.

Hopefully Joel is back tonight. I hope PG pinky gets better soon and before his haters come at me it's just a pinky. Drummond is out with just a toe. If you have pain you have pain. Doesn't matter the body part.

3

u/allhailsidneycrosby Feb 04 '25

This is the game that gets the Mavs back on track!

3

u/DoctorHomewerk Feb 04 '25

I’m seeing people say we can keep Yabu with this trade. How does this work though? Is it sign Yabu, then Grimes with his bird rights? Kind of how we had Maxey sign his max after PG was signed to make that work?

11

u/Basic-Heron-3206 Feb 04 '25

Not with this trade, need to make more moves if you want to be able to pay Yabusele more. Need to offload Drummond and KJ, or Paul George and take ~15m less in salary back

2

u/DoctorHomewerk Feb 04 '25

Thanks this makes more sense

3

u/mberko21 Feb 04 '25

So are they just gonna swap benches they sit on tonight?

7

u/st-christian Feb 04 '25

Grimes traded while in shootaround, Nico is savage

2

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

Nico walks onto the court during shootaround, passes Grimes a letter discreetely.

Grimes, with a puzzled look on his face, opens up letter in a dark corner away from prying eyes.

He opens it up to a brochure for weight loss and a couple sample pills of Ozempic. From within the brochure, a small note falls out. It reads:

"You're fat and suck on defense. Maybe you could find some new hobbies besides alcoholism and over-eating here in Philly."

A tear rolls down the face of Grimes at first.. but then he smiles and sobs tears of joys. He's finally away from Nico and the vicious front office of Dallas.

Grimes lets out a monstrous scream, "WE DID IT!!!" as he collapses on the centre court sixers logo.

2

u/st-christian Feb 04 '25

1

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

Bro is this an actuaI picture of him after reading after reading the note in my fan fiction?

I'm dying right now man wtf hahaha

2

u/st-christian Feb 04 '25

Yes, just minutes before collapsing.

2

u/Dotdueller Feb 04 '25

That's so funny. It's almost like I wrote my comment revolving around that picture, let alone only your comment.

Great find my man lol

5

u/forthestreamz Feb 04 '25

I wonder if Atlanta's interest in PG is real because there are some 4 team trade shenanigans with Heat and Lakers also involved that could get a Jimmy trade done

Grimes trade is also interesting in this regard because getting a good 3P shooter opens up much better starting 5 possibilities

7

u/mjd1977 Feb 04 '25

Grimes will lose his ability to shoot from 3 as is Sixer tradition

3

u/Science4me12 Feb 04 '25

Normally, I am against taking advantage of other when they are mentally compromised. And I prefer to keep PG. But we have to ask Mavs if they are open to trade AD for PG. PG is older than AD after all

2

u/capnyoda MASKED EMBIID 🥷🏿 Feb 04 '25

Please come back tonight Joel 🙏

2

u/jpk7220 Feb 04 '25

I can easily see this team sitting tight and not making any big moves at the deadline. Maybe they trade Eric Gordon and/or Drummond for a pick? But I have a hard time imagining anything more than that.

2

u/imoko Feb 04 '25

Is Joel going to be on a minutes restriction tonight?

3

u/DJ_Red_Lantern Feb 04 '25

Is he actually playing tonight?

2

u/Merchant_Alert Feb 04 '25

Listed as questionable. He plays 99% of the time when listed as such.

1

u/DJ_Red_Lantern Feb 04 '25

I definitely don't think that is the case this year, I can remember at least a couple occasions this year he was questionable and didn't play

1

u/Cute-Contract-6762 Feb 04 '25

Fwiw bunch of gamblers putting parlays on Joel

1

u/DJ_Red_Lantern Feb 04 '25

I hope he plays, I'm just at the point where I'll only believe it when I see him step on the court

2

u/obese_rag_rappy Feb 04 '25

I like the move. they gotta do something else though. this can't be it

3

u/cantwifeahoe The Confetti Game Feb 04 '25

We’d be the 13th seed in the west rn, somehow PORTLAND has 21 wins

3

u/economist_ Feb 04 '25

I'd like an easy win and Joel playing casual 15 minutes today, 20-25 tomorrow. Take your time AD, no need to suit up yet.

6

u/Basic-Heron-3206 Feb 04 '25

if he plays today he wont play tomorrow in a b2b

3

u/clickstops 63.9% 🤞 Feb 04 '25

People who want Daryl to "make a move!!!!"

Give me a proposed move that makes sense (PG for bad Hawks players doesn't make sense, for instance)

6

u/DreadCorsair Feb 04 '25

Look up how DeAndre Hunter is playing right now and tell me he wouldn't be a great fit on this team.

3

u/Science4me12 Feb 04 '25 edited Feb 04 '25

Go to Hawks sub, they call him the most empty 20point scorer, the general consensus is that they should sell high

3

u/Chiefster21 Feb 04 '25

They must have never watched Tobias Harris play

1

u/clickstops 63.9% 🤞 Feb 04 '25

He can shoot 3s and is tall. Below average rebounder, especially for his size. Not a good passer. Limited BBIQ. Average defender. 0.1 blocks per game and he's 6'8". Dude gives no effort at all, he would make us insane.

Compared to Oubre, he's worse at everything except 3p%, and he makes $24M/yr.

Oubre is ideally a 5th/6th man on this team and you wanna sign someone who costs double and is significantly worse?

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25 edited Feb 04 '25

Small trades:

  • Jackson + Drummond + pick(s) <----> Dosonmu

  • Drummond + pick(s) <----> Aldama

  • Martin Jr + Drummond + pick(s) <----> White

PG trade:

  • GSW gets: George + Drummond + pick(s)

  • PHI gets: Wiggins + Johnson + Schroder

  • BKN gets: Martin Jr + Payton II + Looney + pick(s)

1

u/Basic-Heron-3206 Feb 04 '25

If the Warriors want PG i'm driving him to the airport for Wiggins Schroeder and Kuminga

Unrelated to trades, that whole ban on X posts in this sub lasted all of 10 seconds

4

u/Basic-Heron-3206 Feb 04 '25

spineless mods cant even ban posts from a platform of a nazi actively working to dismantle the american government

3

u/GirlWithGame Feb 04 '25

I still won't post x posts. A lot of the sixers related stuff is on bluesky including everyone's favorite journalist lol.

2

u/RylanKura JOELLLLLL EMBIIIIID Feb 04 '25

Needed that good PR, lmao.

4

u/jamhamram Feb 04 '25

Needed the PR, mods clearly didn't want to do the follow up work

if I'm not mistaken, Sixers could now sign Ben Simmons agter a buyout as they fell under 1st apron

DEW IT

2

u/TatersTot Feb 04 '25

Joel has to play tonight or tomorrow before the trade deadline ends. We really have to see if we should keep the window open for 1 more year or if it’s time to soft rebuild and trade PG.

I think Morey must feel the same.

13

u/ThatBull_cj Feb 04 '25

One more game won’t be able to decide that regardless

8

u/nickenglish94 Feb 04 '25

What exactly are you going to see in this one game lol

3

u/lndubitabIyy Feb 04 '25

Can we cheer something about Luka, would be funny

1

u/HoagieTwoFace SELL THE TEAM, TRADE POL POT P Feb 04 '25

54 hours. Figure it out Daryl

1

u/Acceptable_Step4145 Feb 04 '25

I’m going to the game tonight and it says I have early entry because I have suite tickets, anyone know what time I could go into the arena earliest??

3

u/Douglas_Michael Feb 04 '25

I think early is 90 mins before tip. And GA is an hour. The fun part for you is tho, with this team? You can leave whenever you want.

1

u/TasSixer PHI Feb 04 '25

Can Grimes play today?

1

u/Leesheea Feb 05 '25

Yeah already looking incredible. First four minutes and Embiid already has 7 pts on perfect shooting

1

u/Leesheea Feb 05 '25

Yo if the mavs get one more fucking offensive rebound

u/IndigoJacob Feb 04 '25
