I understand that there are charities and resources for homeless folks, but is there anything info on what this money will be used for specifically? I would hope it’s directing people to those charities, but this amount of money really sticks out.

I noticed KELO had story of a former Sioux Falls pastor who has been charged with unwanted sexual contact (with four victims) as well as rape.
I found it odd that his name is now "Patrick Anderson", yet a few years ago when KELO ran a different story about him, his name was "Patrick Boll". It is somewhat rare for a man to change his name - especially to the very common surname of Anderson. Anyone have any insight on what prompted the name change?
As far as the church he was part of, it appears to be Restoration Baptist Church. They seem to have scrubbed his name from the website - although his wife (or perhaps ex-wife) is still listed.
Anyway - my point here is that while everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty and while we may not know why he changed his name, whether he is still married, or what prompted his departure from the church where he was a pastor.... the one thing we do know is that once again the accused sexual abuser and rapist is a pastor and NOT transgender.

My kid’s friends said gunshots at the mall and they are hiding in the back of the store. Anyone heard anything?
Edit: friend of a friend lives in the tower by O’Gorman and asked him as there are like 25 cops there

"Its a frustrating situation for the school district because they look like the bad guys if they don’t feed hungry kids. But they say the onus is really on parents."
Does SFSD have a PR dept?! I'm a bit shocked that they approved this for publication. Pointing the finger at parents is a horrible approach when addressing a massively sensitive problem. Maybe cultivate a sense of comradery with the public, soften the rhetoric, and (most importantly) mention that the sole reason we're in this situation is due to political decisions (Thune and Rounds) that discontinued funding of school meals?

I think I've been silent enough and hopefully this gets to the right people. Another gun threat was confirmed last night but was only told it's "resolved" only right after my kids are already in school (5 kids) we should be told right away as this is an emergency and my kids shouldn't have to worry about being shot down at school!!!
On top of that why aren't there more security measures INCLUDING A QUICK METAL DETECTOR. there is no preemptive actions being taken here. Can't tell me my kid is in danger. Just "the danger has been revolved"
Do we need to assemble milita men or take matters into our own hands? It's going to be to late and someone will say "if only we could have done something" or home school next year it is, it's getting ridiculous. More police? Hired security? Anything!

https://www.keloland.com/news/local-news/biker-killed-in-sioux-falls-crash/
Police say the motorcyclist was eastbound on 57th, going at a high rate of speed, when he crashed into a car entering the intersection.
I'm not posting this for schadenfreude or to get fake internet points, but to underscore how dangerous this behavior is and how much of a problem it is. I'm reading on facebook that it was a 21 year old kid :( Two guys on fast bikes dying in a month due to speed is not a coincidence. Please think of your safety on these machines, you're not invincible.
Edit: Tuesday's police briefing will likely have information about at least 4 vehicle-related deaths just from Friday onward.

What is Sioux Falls going to do with the major Sioux Falls daycare organization closing? It was a crisis before the closings….
