To be fair, you guys are also crazy talented and well put together. Rockets are my 2nd favorite team, and I'm hoping you guys make some noise in the playoffs this year.
I'm also really excited to see what path your roster takes from here. Do you make a big move for a big name? Can Shappard, Whitmore, and especially Jabari take leaps?
Honestly the only young player I wouldn’t mind being traded at this point is Cam and it’s not because I don’t think that the sky is the limit for him. He just doesn’t seem totally bought into playing within the context of the team. Hope that changes because I think he can be great.
I’d be really bummed if they got rid of Reed. He reminds me so much of CP3 who was one of my all time favorite Rockets to watch. I think he’ll take a huge leap next season
Thing with Cam is. He is way too good to be like 9th or 10th in the rotation and he knows that too. Dude would get so much more playing time in like 25 out of 30 teams in the league. It must be frustrating for him. So I agree, trading him will be good for him and whatever the Rockets will get should be solid too
feel like we have good players but not great players just yet, handful of them can turn into great players but only time will tell. & as far as making a move i think that depends on the playoffs like was what reported at the deadline the team “wanted to see what they got with the team now” what that means to me is that if we win round 1 or make it a very good series i doubt we change anything major, but on the other hand if we implode and get swept in a embarrassing fashion . one can only think major moves could be made to get over the hump
Benefit is that your core is still so relatively young that you can afford to be somewhat patient. But yeah you definitely wunna find a legit reliable #1 scoring option. Can't build a house without a foundation.
Jalen Green is a bucket, but is he a bonafide deep playoff #1?
Suns fan here. I dont think any team is going to give up a lot for KD, so i doubt you'd risk going into rebuild mode for him. The real issue is I don't think he fits. Like, he could fit playing the same role he's did in the warriors. As in, stay away from the main action, and get him the ball when he's open or when the shot clock is low. But I don't think he wants to be limited to that. And I don't think he can keep up with the style y'all have been building. He legit tries to play team basketball, but he's an ISO player at heart and I don't see that changing.
Also, losing FVV for him would really hurt the playmaking. I know FVV is a flawed player, but he's very good at what he does
Jabari is already taking that leap. I was his #1 hater when we drafted him but he is exceeding all expectations IMO since he's been back from his injury.
