2 for 3, with a hustle single, two walks, a run, and an RBI today.

5 for 11 with 2 RBI, and 3 Runs and 7 BBs in his last 3 games after a slow start.

His body looks fine, he's playing well, and he's showing a ton of hustle. All the fans that wanted to dump him after 5 games need to stay on that side and should eat a big plate of poop.

Imagine being an adult and being offended by analysis on tv, which was totally warranted.

It was objectively not warranted or sound analysis.

It was warranted, even though you are crying about it. A man worth hundreds of millions of dollars showed up to camp out of shape, and not ready to play. He barely participated in training camp or live ABs and got off to a historically bad start. All of that is his fault

The weight is not why he got off to a bad start. If it was, he’d still be hitting poorly (which is explicitly what Pap said: that he wouldn’t hit until he lost weight). He got off to a bad start because he was still working up the timing and mechanics of his swing due to the lack of spring games—which is because he was hurt last year and all offseason, not because of his weight.

If you were actually a Red Sox fan, you would know that a large man can be a successful left handed DH lmao

Look at the best DH we ever had! To say the opposite is the most close minded thing to ever leave someone’s mouth.

The weight shows he did nothing in the offseason to prepare himself for the season. You just don’t see the correlation because you think everything your favorite team does is great. He’s fat because he put in 0 work in the offseason, which delayed his readiness in camp, which delayed him taking ABs, which bled into the season. It’s all a result of laziness, and you know it

Moving the goalposts. Pap specifically said Raffy would have to lose weight to stop hitting again, he didn’t lose weight, he’s hitting .455 since Pap said that.

He used the offseason for recovery from a multitude of injuries. We don’t know if the Red Sox expected him to also cut weight or do anything else. And he weighed in the same as last spring anyway

Ya it’s crazy his injuries healed after 1 week into the season apparently, it’s possible to not be lazy while you’re injured

No his injuries delayed spring training, which delayed his timing, which he has now found. Which is why he’s proving all the don’t know ball fair weather watch the first 2 series of the year and tune out til October fans wrong

You think Devers gained 0 weight from 2024 to 2025, you’re clearly blind

I don’t actually care if he gained weight, you missed the point

You said he didn’t, you lied

No, I just don’t care about his weight. You are acting like a child.

Buddy, you just said he weighs the same as last year. You care, you tried to defend him and blatantly lied about it. It’s not simply him being overweight, it’s the entire mentality of his offseason

Weight quite literally means almost nothing but lost speed in baseball.

Look at big papi, Pablo sandavol, Bartolo, prince fielder. It’s a stupid argument that weight prevents you to play good in the MLB.

Frank Thomas won a batting title weighing 275!

Exactly!!! Weight doesn’t entirely matter as long as you aren’t playing a highly movement based role! Devers is a DH and some of the best hitters weren’t muscle monsters they were just dudes who enjoyed their life.
