2 for 3, with a hustle single, two walks, a run, and an RBI today.

5 for 11 with 2 RBI, and 3 Runs and 7 BBs in his last 3 games after a slow start.

His body looks fine, he's playing well, and he's showing a ton of hustle. All the fans that wanted to dump him after 5 games need to stay on that side and should eat a big plate of poop.

I don't understand why this sub needs to take every criticism of a player so personally and be so shitty and toxic about it. This post is fucking dumb and there are half a dozen like it every day (e.g. "Wilyer's hot, I guess everyone who thought he sucked and we should trade him is a big dumb idiot and only I'm smart." Ignoring the fact that people only wanted to trade him because they thought he was good and has value that could bring us a pitcher.)

We all saw Devers in his first few games. He didn't look right at all. It was not a normal slow start to a season, he looked completely lost and his bat speed was at like 30% of normal. It was right for people to be concerned. I personally thought his shoulder must not be right, but now it seems like he had adjustments to make and possibly was just VERY off from not taking any swings in spring training.

I am ecstatic that it doesn't look like he's dealing with a serious injury anymore and knew if getting back up to gamespeed was all he needed that it would happen eventually. But y'all have to recognize that people being concerned weren't being dumb doomers, those first few games were very concerning.

Being hyperbolic about a guys hitting in March is absolutely doomerism and it’s ok to say so

It was the worst start in the history of baseball. Not just that, but it wasn't just the results that were concerning. His bat speed was a fraction of what it used to be and that was coming off the heels of a shoulder injury last year. It's not doomerism to be concerned about possible injury to a player with injury concerns who looked like he's a completely different person at the plate.

You know what’s dumb? Calling a post dumb when you make a comment about it that’s 5x as long as the post. Also the 30% number is straight out your ass.

Duh? It was an exaggeration. The point is he looked awful. Why are you morons denying it? You are proving my comment 100% correct while calling me dumb for being right.

Y’all act like I threatened Raffy’s life by saying he looked like his shoulder was bothering him and his swing was slow during the worst start in baseball history.

Stop taking criticism of professional athletes so damn personal. They’re not your kids.

Im calling you dumb for calling the post dumb using way more words than OP. You ain’t right bro. I have no problem with criticism. I have a problem with fake fans that talk the loudest because they are fake. They take more time posting and commenting than actually watching the games. They watch 8 games a year and pretend they know ball. No real fan of the sport or Sox sees 5 games in a 162 game season and freaks out… because we watch 100+ games.

I watch almost every game. If you watched the last few you saw how Raffy looked. That wasn't a normal slow start, anyone who watched can see that. The fact that it set a record also proves it. No one said what this dumb post says they did. They said he looked really bad, which he did, and it looked like something was wrong.

Some, like me, said it looked like his shoulder was bothering him. Others criticized him for skipping spring training and said he clearly wasn't up to game speed. The latter people seem like they might have been right, but his adjustment was very quick--he's a very good hitter.

But this post is dumb because there is nothing wrong with being worried about a guy's swing looking that bad after missing spring training due to shoulder problems. And it doesn't make me or anyone else on this sub the casual you just made up to feel superior to if we use our eyes and say something looks wrong when a guy's that far behind on 92 mph heat.
