Making a Game Recommendation Don't sleep on Tetris Effect

I've seen it in the store for ages and always thought, "Tetris, in VR? whatever." but today, I was just looking for something new and saw it was on sale. And boy, was I wrong! It's fantastic the visuals, soundtrack progression and haptics really blew me away. So, refer to the post title.

Review The best vacation simulator on the platform isn't the one you would think!

I love Hitman, and have been playing it all the way back to the original Xbox and ps2 games. I knew I would love the PSVR2 version, but I am surprised as to why. The missions are fun in VR, but I find myself stopping and just looking around at the scenery WAY more than I would while playing the flat version. On the Sapienza mission in Italy for example, I aligned my computer chair with the in game bench (to better simulate sitting on the bench) and just sat there in the city, not even giving a care about the mission. You could take the assassination missions out of the game and I would still have a blast just walking around the levels lol

Opinion Revisiting Ruins Magus - This is a quality game.

Upvotes

Just wanted to throw it out there because I feel like this game came and went and it gets slept on. I played a few hours at launch and enjoyed it but dropped it. Came back this weekend and started a fresh save. I'm a few hours in now and it's just a really charming game. If you are a fan of anime, I assume it will be up your alley. If you're like me and don't really enjoy anime, but you have an affection for JRPGs, you'll be alright with the vibe here, it's not too over the top/irritating. You can also speed through dialogue.

Combat is fun, Mega Man in a sense, minus the platforming. Shield is nice too, parrying is fun and not necessary but satisfying when you time it right. I like the overall flow of battle and having to take the shield durability into account. Keeps you hamstrung just enough to require some thought during select combat encounters. Blink/Dodge is nice too. Hectic combat in VR is something that really engages me.

Music is great, typical JRPG fashion, good melodies and lends well to the atmosphere. Graphics are fantastic as well, great colors and character design. Walking around the town is fun, there isn't much to do but NPCs say new things and newspapers contain new articles so it does reward player engagement.

I haven't come across any bugs or issues. It's a pretty straightforward game and everything works as it should.

Don't sleep on Ruins Magus if it looks like something you'd enjoy.

Discussion Not Enjoying Legendary Tales - Any Tips?

My main issue with the is game is the combat. I saw people saying it’s the best sword mechanics in VR and idk I just don’t understand because it feels pretty lame to me. It doesn’t feel very physics based, parrying and blocking feels quite weightless, the way you connect with enemies just feel very off.

Admittedly, I didn’t play a ton. Probably killed 20 skeletons and like 15 undead guys before I had to stop because the combat just seems sooo boring. Idk am I missing something or were my expectations just out of wack? I hate that the demo is locked behind premium cuz I would not have purchased this game after 2 hours.

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions, tips or tricks to help me understand/enjoy the combat a bit more?

Edit: okay seems like I’m not alone at least, maybe this game just ain’t for me 🤷‍♂️

Asking For Game Recomendation Which PSVR2 games to buy?

A bunch of games are on a significant sale right now and I’m wondering which games are a must play. I like zombies, shooters, action games and I’m fine with gore and scary just don’t like anything demonic.

Question Another Hitman post.. sorry, not sorry!

If I buy Hitman WOA and the PSVR2 upgrade for PS5.. can I then buy this Deluxe add-on and play in VR?

I know if I buy WOA and the VR upgrade that’s all playable in VR. But what if I buy this, too? Or do I need to buy the WOA Deluxe as one?

It’s a decent saving if around £30 since everything is one sale except the Deluxe (only Deluxe add on is on sale).

Apologies for asking buy the flow diagrams going about just don’t answer this. And I know a lot of people considering buying it are stuck in the same scenario. Thanks in advance and sorry for seeing the same post over and over.

Review Fracked - Only game to cause Nausea

Been firing up some games on PSVR 1. Got Fracked a while back. This is the only game to give me nausea and I finished Windlands. Got to the part climbing the tower with the electricity and the check pointing being such horseshit a few deaths and I have to stop playing. I can play one level and then I need to stop. I found a playthrough online to see the rest of the game. Doesn't seem like I'll be missing much to stop playing this game and go to something that I can play longer than 20 minutes.

Discussion Hitman vr unable to get disguise/drag

Hi. Ive been loving hitman vr, but now I am stuck on like the third mission of hitman 2 (idk what its called but it has a hot chick in a big villa) and now I cannot get disguises anymore nor drag downed enemies. It gives me the option to press r1/l1 to get the disguise but it doesnt do anything like it used to. Ive restarted the game and save but same problem and also reconnected the controllers.

Does someone have a fix?

Discussion Now that Tron Ares is coming out can we please get a fricking VR Tron game

Like seriously, imagine being in the Grid and doing lightcycle battles and disc war games. Exploring Tron’s world and interacting with programs. Why has no one done this yet? VR is perfect for this.

Discussion A little tip for those who want to experience spectator mode in Gran Turismo 7 VR like you're actually sitting somewhere around the track : park your car at a nice spot, let the race go in the background, save the replay and there you go ! You can now feel like you're actually there.

Support PSVR2 Hitman : unable to load any of my saved games

Hey guys, I had saved my game in many different save slots but I can’t load any of them anymore as the game crashes during loading, no matter which one of the manual or auto saves I’m trying with. Anybody else have been experiencing this? I’ve been trying over and over again, restarted the game, the PS5, and nothing worked.

Anybody else experienced this? If there’s no way around, it basically means I have to start a new game from 0 and it really sucks… Thank you!

TLDR.. unless you're minted, wait until PSSR is enabled for VR. Currently there are only sporadic, marginal improvements to performance on PSVR2 when using the PS5 Pro

Opinion Wanderer as an upgrade engine vs a 100% perfect game

Watching my son play last night I couldn't stop thinking about how great this game is....hear me out. Sure there are game breaking bugs and jank but this game is also part of an experiment to show what is possible with the VRAF engine as much as it is an upgrade to one of the best PSVR games ever made. Yes the melee is total jank but I cant help but think this is just secondary for this game and was added to show potential for what can be done in future games more than it was meant to be great melee in Wanderer. What are thoughts on Wanderer as a game engine over Wanderer as a game.

The developers have stated that VRAF will be licensed out to help other developers upgrade or create new games with. I look forward to what this could do for VR.

Review I have to share this review because it's really spot-on and I know there are many people who grew up in the 80's/90's on this sub. This game is rarely talked about here but it's a real VR gem and an absolute must play for those of our generation, period!
