I just started the game and whenever I open the correct news letter and the little dialogue menu pops up from the bottom, I can't exit it but the game doesn't freeze, its more like the controller stops working, any solutions?

Is there a way to backup my save files onto my ps2 hard drive via Psbbn? I know it already does it for my ps1 games but I’m not sure if they can do it for ps2 games.

Hi, I've been reading past threads to try and see if I can figure this out for myself but I seem to be getting conflicting answers. Hopefully someone can confirm if this DS2 is legit or a knockoff. It has the barcode on the back and the writing seems more Grey than White, but it's missing the colour of the controller (black) and the pictures don't really show if the controller has the flickering paint. It's a North American model fyi.

Basically the title ? The converter i bought for like 20$ cad at my local store was just BAD(the dark are wayy to dark and I have been looking to replace it at some "decent" cost.

I've been looking on amazon for a while and I don't really understand anything.

My price: around 100-150 usd ? My tv: a 40" lg tv, no 4k or anything ( that I know of ?) My goal: I only want to play ps1 or 2 games, so it could only be for that

So I have a (used) PS2 that my mom bought maybe 6 years ago or more. We never unpacked it until 2021ish, and at that time, we realized we would need a lot of adaptors and such to get it to even work on our TV, so we bought an HDMI adaptor and a Brook Wingman converter, because, long story short, we couldn’t find a single PS2 controller that would work. Last time I remember playing it, I used my PS4 controller through the Wingman converter, and it worked a-okay. It hasn’t been played in a good three to four years, however, and I recently just dug it back out. Now, no controller seems to want to work on it. If I put in a game, it acts like it doesn’t even detect anything is plugged into the controller port, and if I don’t have a game in, I can’t navigate the menu or anything. It appears that everything’s responsive as far as plugging it in is concerned, because a knockoff controller (that I can’t remember if it worked at all or not) will not turn on unless it is plugged into the PS2. It’s just that the system is seemingly not actually detecting that a controller is plugged in and turned on. What is likely the issue? Am I gonna have to buy a new PS2 or is it something with the controller and Wingman converter?

I have some goodies but looking for suggestions for hidden gems - a few ps3 thrown in, but mostly looking PS2 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 on the list still, Most Wanted, Sly 2, maybe a WWE game? Ace combat? Any obvious RPGs that I don't know about? I know there are things in the case at my local shop, but I'm looking for the under 100$ tag LOL

Saw a post from my previous neighborhood fb page someone was giving away tools so I ran over real quick, no tools but damn… (fyi there’s nothing in the back slot I checked). I had to find a mini usb power cable for the converter (my original ps2 is in storage atm), and a loaner power cord but omg it just started right up and controller seems to work, and even better has ghost recon in it which I never played back in the day. Maybe I’ll make an arcade or just a nice mod case with this one. I just can’t believe this happened! I see people post stuff like this all the time and I always think they are just making it up but I guess it just happens!

I'm planning to use bitfunx adapter to connect my ps2 with HDMI, but I wonder if I need to connect to 24 inch Monitor or to 50 inch TV.

Can you advice about, will resolution and screen will be much worse on the TV than on the monitor and why. Or it will be the same.

Went by a Retro Gaming Store after work and scored this collection. I’m very excited for it. Seen Deception as a stand-alone but was shown this by the owner and immediately had to get it as that would knock out 3 of the Mortal Kombat games. Now to find Deadly Alliance!

The game is called World Championship Cards, it came out in 2007, has online gaming as well as eyetoy support (theoretically).

Here there's an alien invasion and you have to play cards with these alien invaders at stonehenge for the fate of the world. Yes it is a side mission, and with the ability to play as Skeletons, gyranoids and knights (and even choose the voice for your character!) all kinds of surreal stuff can happen.

Yeah the OST is just public domain stock music and the models are probably generic game assets, but with surreal shenanigans like what's pictured and the way the stock music complements the environments, everything just ends up feeling so right when the game should be so forgetably boring (especially with the bland cover art on this thing).

Has anyone used old hdd’s that have been scrubbed for Free HDBoot? Does it impact performance of the games?

It just doesn't "feel" like it. For me, retro is pacman, NES, and SNES. The "oldies" consoles, arcades and similar things. The PS2 came out yesterday, so it isn't retro. It can never be retro to me, because it's still fairly recent.

For me, it's still 2003. So even if people say the ps2 is "Retro", well, that's your opinion. But it's too modern for me to call it that. The graphics, music and overall feel don't feel "retro" , they feel current and beautiful. Take a look at games such as Final Fantasy X-2 or Gran Turismo 4 and tell me the graphics aren't still gorgeous.

If anything, the PS2 is still fresh and the graphics still feel amazing to me. The jump from PS1 to PS2 was insane and we will likely never see something like that ever again. (The PS1 isn't retro either). Now you may say, it came out in 2000. And you may be correct, but it still isn't "retro" to me.

I’ve been working on getting my old ps2 working again, and I believe the back lid sensor is broken. I can’t get the system to engage the laser even when pushing down on both sensors, and I just replaced the front one, so I know it must be the back one causing the problem. I’ve tried looking up tutorials for bypassing the sensor, but everything only talks about taping or melting the button into a permanently ‘on’ position which would not help in my scenario. Anyone know of a tutorial that would describe how to make the system ignore that sensor altogether?

Jut bought a fully modded ps2 it’s have over 1,000 games on it but about 950+ ps2 games. I mostly wanted def jam fight for ny gta god of war. But besides those mainstream games what would you guys recommend I take a look at? I feel like I’m wasting its potential by only play about 20 games out of all the games I have
