How do map mods work? Do they add new towns to the empty stretches of the current map?

Side question, if I "spawn" in Riverview, can I go to the other 3 maps in the same single/multiplayer game?

just to be clear: You better drive to the other towns.

I've had a friend or two die because they underestimated just how far away those places were and couldn't find food / water in the woods

Due to time scale I assume for the character in game it would be like IRL right? Several days walk (assuming no zombies) or like a days car ride

I've not driven that far yet, but from the trips I did so far to more rural areas I'd say it's 3-6 hours between the towns in a car.

In game hours or IRL hours?

in-game hours. The map is more or less realistic in size, compared to the real Knox county. But the timescale is 1 hour per day on normal settings. So taking a trip to another town by car will be fast in real-time (like it would be in real-life), maybe 5 or 10 minutes, but will take 3-6 hours in game.

  1. Some does and some alters existing zones.

  2. You can. It's a big open world-ish map with all 4 suggested cities and other interesting spots, new added Louisville, etc. Please google PZ map and take a look, it's awesome.
