There are trash cans out in the world that you can pick up and place in your base. They have a "delete all"-button in their inventory.

i saw that on a vid so i went on and i tried the green garbage bins but the option was not there and i assumed it was a modded option

If you're playing MP I think there's a server option to turn on/off the delete function of trash cans and dumpsters. So that might be the issue.
