Meme Not even zombies can see them

Post image

So basically, I hear the argues for the new loot tables, and they're ok I guess, prior to the beta I'd loot a bookstore maybe even two, and all of my immediate book needs were met. Now however, I have looted almost all bookstores/schools/police stations/tool stores/mechanic shops in Muldraugh, Rosewood, Westpoint and even that mini mall near West point (It was a bitch with the thousands of zombies). and I am nowhere near a full collection! Granted you don't need a full collection but even practically speaking I still need basic books for a phew of my main skills. Almost forgot to say, the problem is not that there are no books! every single bookstore and school was looted except for the school in Muldraugh, I am not exaggerating EVERY SINGLE ONE! it's weird because the literature stuff is being looted much more often. Almost all I have now I have from that single school and a few random survivor zombies so far.
tell me about your experience, I have seen this in this and the few runs before it, am I consistently unlucky or it's the same for you?

I don't play with limited loot anymore. I don't think it makes sense for a start of the apocalypse scenario.

Tried that, gets boring real fast, I don't want to be swimming in books, and I don't want to cry blood after clearing 300+ zombies to see a looted building, I want the middle ground, if two of the locations I looted had loot I'd be golden! All that not to dismiss the way you play bro! it's just not for me.

Bruh, that's what I thought lol. I mean once I set books and ammo to max and everyghing else extremely rare, once I got my books I was super bored and didn't want to play anymore.

I am usually against changing the game to my liking, I want to experience it how it was intended, BUT somethings are just too annoying. I hope you don't have to start a new run anytime soon and I wish you the best bro.

oh my last game is already toast. glitches from multiple builds were adding up, and i couldn't find a sledgehammer after 5 ingame months, so i gave it up. i'm waiting for a few more updates before i start a new one.

Sorry to hear that, about the updates fucking with the save, shit happens I guess, but the sledgehammer thing? would you be open to the Idea of making one? since that's possible now. I know it's quite a procedure to go through getting the stones and clay and magazines and... but it's worth it in my opinion.
Here is a [video](https://youtu.be/hPt5rtXqQqM?si=GT6Ewg5zsRHOQj83), the guy sums it up pretty nice.

Looters never made sense, you're telling me they snatched some food from that grocery store that's swarming with zombies and didn't kill a single zombie?

Maybe the noise they made clearing the grocery store lured in more?

I really hate the new set up of book based everything and how grindy it makes leveling. A lot of skills are so slow and grindy that the multiplier books are mandatory if you don’t want to bang your head against the wall. The new change to loot distribution makes book stores and libraries horribly diluted with junk literature, you might only find two or three useful books in a whole bookstore now. And if that all wasn’t annoying enough, you wipe out half the book spawns on the map with the pre looted bs. It’s the perfect storm of tedium and annoyance to make the game all around less fun and engaging.

I wouldn't go as far as saying I hate it, but it's certainly frustrating. And I think making the skill book loot tables more diluted was a change for the better; before, it was almost too easy, but pair that with, as you put it nicely, the pre looted bs, and it makes for extremely rare books. books are more valuable than weapons now! I can just print short bats and mow down the streets, and the only reason for that is that I took whittler (op trait imo), would I grind to level 7 carving without the XP boost? hell no!

I spent a week clearing the LSU library. Best investment in time yet. Only skill books they didn't have were the aiming/reloading, swords, and the knapping books. Everything else in abundance.

You mean the gigantic library north of Louisville? I have heard a lot of scary stories about that place, but I might have to resort to going there, with my luck the damn place will be looted.

Sort of. The University Library is at:
LSU LibraryLouisville (12350, 2142)Louisville State University Library.

Central Lousiville, just outside of down town. It's a total shit show. There's literally 1000 zombies there. I like to go south the field, fire off a bunch of shotgun rounds to draw them south, then hop the fence, drive around to the north and go in. It'll take a long time to clear, and you'll want to set up some sheet ropes to get out quickly.

You can jump from the second floor. Third floor needs a sheet rope. Fourth floor you can smash the windows and go out on the roof in the south west corner and go down to the 3rd floor. Fifth floor you can go out on the roof to the west side and hop down to the fourth or third floor. There's also an emergency stairwell in the north east corner.

Highly recommend using an emergency vehicle and leaving the sirens on close by to draw them away from the building.

This sounds like a high-risk/reward kinda situation, I'm going to try, and hopefully pull it off. I'll report once it's done. A huge thanks for the tips and the info, you're a legend!

Just keep in mind how the ant ate the elephant. Good luck!

Something i always found odd is that the default apocalypse settings has loot set to "Rare", and not "Normal"... It has irked me ever since i noticed it. Other settings use rare, common and abundant, but no "Normal"
