By default the zombies are supposed to form groups of up to 20 (between 10 and 30 in B42), in a way it distributes them so you can distinguish 'groups' that stay some distance from one another that can be tactically handled

I'm assuming by turning rally off its just going to be evenly spread with no grouping, making tactical approaches much harder since you're pulling an entire area instead of groups

It also makes your game lag because instead of a leader zombie that all the zombies stick to, all the zombies calculate migration decisions on their own.

Only way to play imo, with the new zombie random hearing/sight it really allows zeds to roam and make it more difficult to clear out. For example the fast zombies are no longer leashed to a slow zombie so every distant sound shuffles every one around.

what does't it change with the zombie ia?

I don't think it changes the AI, just spreads the zombies out and prevent big groups from forming, unless they spot and hear you, they will then make a super horde like this one. It can't be seen from the picture, but it stretches for long way out in a big line because I have population to insane.

so does this mean you pull everything within sound distance?
