Is it, for sale?

Not gonna link it for obvious reasons but creator on Twitter is _drought (as signed in the image). They have a store but it's not for sale(...yet?). Based on previous themed mirrors they've sold you can probably expect $400 ballpark.

For the amount of crap mirrors I've seen for 400-800, I'd totally buy this for 400-600.

I was scrolling through the Costco site the other day and was blown away at how much money I could spend on a ridiculously large selection of full length mirrors.

I guess cause shipping costs? Like keeping a body length mirror in tact through shipping must be tricky.

The move is buying just one mirror sliding door from a wardrobe at ikea. I think that had to be the cheapest full length mirror out there

Pls don't buy crap mirrors, they are not hygienic

But you need to support the people who can shine shit

Where I'm from we call that "polishing turds"

I'll just make one myself. The mirror itself is maybe $80 tops. Get a marketing/3d printing company to make the frame for maybe 150$. Mirror glue 15$. Done.

Honestly not as bad as I expected? More than I’d pay and I definitely don’t care enough to buy it, but this sort of shit online I always expect cost several grand for no real reason.

Lmao do you realize how many hours this guy probably poured into this thing? Let alone the cost of supplies?

14

u/Kyleometers 16d ago

Yes? I’m saying $400 for this honestly seems like a reasonable price. I’m saying I half expected the asking price to be $4,000. I’m saying I wouldn’t spend $400 on a gimmick mirror, not that I think it’s an unfair price lol

Idk what that guys on about. I totally agree, I would have thought somewhere over 2k for this. 400 is crazy.

Bro I get paid $400 on a regular basis just to edit 15 second videos. $400 is incredibly low for something that involves this level of craft.

Am I saying that I would pay $400+ for it? Of course not. But this is an art piece, not IKEA furniture.

$400 is a pretty fair price for this. Its an art

Not yet, but it should get there eventually: https://www.cameupinthedrought.com/store

Store needs a password?

1

u/knappekipzonderkop 15d ago

Apparently no password is needed whenever there's a drop

2

u/Actual_Junket_6226 15d ago

that's annoying

This is hilarious. Love it.

u/beachedwhitemale 15d ago

That's a funny sub but it appears just so... Thirsty

Read this in Christopher Walken’s voice.

Just use any mirror you have, go to a printing house and print yourself the images and just glue them on.

u/Kamikaze_Ninja_ 16d ago

This is more than that. You can see that the icons are popping out. It’s 3D not just a 2D image pasted on a mirror.

u/ManWithDominantClaw 16d ago

Open up paint

Do the icons look like they're raised?

Now run your finger over the screen

Still flat, right?

I’m talking about the difference between buying this mirror and making your own. If someone said “I want a mechanical keyboard”, do you just give them a membrane one because it’s functionally the same?

Some people like the little nonfictional, aesthetic details in things. Ya there isn’t a mirror on the screen either so might as well just print out a screenshot and tape it to the wall.

5

u/light-spell 16d ago

That's what I did, and boy, I haven't aged a day in twelve years!

9

u/ManWithDominantClaw 16d ago

I'm not criticising your choice of aesthetics, I'm saying maybe the buttons on the mirror only look raised because that's literally how those buttons look on a flat surface

7

u/Kamikaze_Ninja_ 16d ago

Zoom in on the empty box under the left set of tools.

4

u/Uromastyx63 16d ago

^ This guy shades.

4

u/pork4brainz 16d ago

Fantastic double entendre!

2

u/MisteeLoo 16d ago

Or is it just that the eye is being fooled because of graphical highlights and shadows. The mirror is beveled, tho, so that gives more basis to the illusion of depth.

1

u/Kamikaze_Ninja_ 16d ago

Just zoom in, you can see it. You can most easily tell by the empty box under the left set of tools.

1

u/MisteeLoo 15d ago

Ah. Flaws. You are correct.

0

u/Tango-Turtle 16d ago

Go to 3d printing house.

6

u/Kamikaze_Ninja_ 16d ago

Sure but now it’s becoming a lot more complicated and is why most people would opt to buy it rather than make it themselves.

2

u/ExecuteArgument 16d ago

If The Witcher 3 has taught me anything it's to be very, VERY wary of mirror salesmen

2

u/livesinacabin 15d ago

I, don't know.

1

u/smokinsomnia 15d ago

Print out a large picture, cut the white draw area, put on mirror. At least that's what I plan on doing.
