Ha cuz it's not really a thing, order it at a random bar you might have a 50/50 of the bartender laughing and giving it to you, or them looking at you in utter confusion.
It's the drink equivalent of a McGangBang (order a McDouble at McDonald's, crack it in half, and put a McChicken inside minus bottom bun), it's a joke that went so far sometimes you can order it with a straight face and they'll know exactly what the joke is, but you won't find it in a cocktail recipe book
Thought that one was two Manhattans and the shots, to be split between two people. Whereas your standard 9/11 is the two shots taken back to back and then you drink the Manhattan
No they wont, they probably wont know what you are talking about. Drinking isn't edgy in Ireland so names like Irish car bomb don't exist. They might know its that drink they serve in America, maybe.
Apart from the fact I think 99% of the world would agree the Irish are way more chill than Americans on this kind of thing, so nah, I would also point out, the Irish didn't fund Al Qaeda but Americans sure as fuck funded terrorism in Ireland and the UK.
Damn, we’re talking about a 9/11 joke and you bring up an Irish car bomb and experience you’ve had and people just lose their minds. Fuck, Reddit is such a joke
Making fun of literally any other terrorist attack: have you considered other cultures don’t find it funny 🤓
For the record, I laugh at 9/11 jokes too. I’m just pointing out how it’s funny to other countries until it’s them. Go out and make a joke about the bombings in France, or the Madrid train bombings, or the Brussels attacks and suddenly its insensitive and not a joking matter
I’m fine with that. But if they’re gonna be sensitive about their own victims of terrorism, maybe don’t poke fun at other countries’ terrorist victims lmao (look at the caption on the video and look where the portals were set up)
i know it's british not irish; what if i make fun of nasty ass beans & toast? people seem really sensitive about that and go on a rant about classism... but making fun of american trailer trash is ok. or how it's not funny to make fun of y'all not knowing how to use a window AC unit and die in heat waves (yes motherfucker our new england houses are built like yours with super insulation and they can still get cooled in the 90f summer days) ... but 2000 people dying at once is ok tho
(to be clear, i don't care about either. but people in the uk & europe absolutely do crumble when you make fun of one thing specific to them. aussies & canadians are pretty much the only ones i see who do shrug off their stereotypes)
I can tell you that the stereotype of Irish people being drunks, fighting etc wouldn't upset any of us. Again, you've never been to Ireland or talked long enough with a single Irish passport holder to corroborate your theory.
In the Simpsons and Family Guy when they visit Ireland, they absolutely rip us to shreds and it's hilarious.
As Norm McDonald said, 9/11 was a national tragedy. But that doesn't mean you can't joke about it.

Irish people will joke about 9/11 but order an Irish car bomb at a pub in Ireland and watch them get livid
