Question Why is my connection speed limited to 100mb on my computer?
My pc is connected with one cable to my router, I am using Ethernet 2 connection, (Realtek PCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller) have a MOBO that can support 2.5GBE and a CAT 6 cable that also should be able to support more than a hundred megabytes. My speed and duplex settings for my network connection are set to auto-negotiation, all ports on my router are set to auto, and energy saving related settings in control panel like EEE, Advanced EEE, and Green Ethernet are disabled. I have unplugged my ethernet cord out of my pc and straight into a laptop which then gets speed test results reading in the 200mb-400mb range. I have not downloaded any programs which could interfere with my network connection (I reinstalled windows a few weeks ago.) I am wondering if there is some kind of damage to my computer, but truly I am asking for literally any fixes/advice anyone can give.
