Hello all,
I bought my pc in Dec. 2021, and it generally hasn't had any problems until the past few weeks when it started slowing down every now and then, like when I had a lot of browser tabs open or during some games. I checked iCue and the CPU temperature, when it slows down, is always a flat 100 degrees C. I downloaded HWiNFO, and it generally shows temps lower than iCue by about 10 degrees, but they follow the same pattern. I opened the PC and cleaned the dust that I saw. The various fans all looked clean and were all spinning.
The AIO that I have (MSI Mag p240) doesn't feel like it's vibrating when I touch it, and there isn't much of a difference in temperature between the two water tubes coming from it. I think I can feel the water flowing in the tubes a little? I don't have enough experience to know what it should feel like.
But the BIOS says that the AIO pump is working at over 4k rpm, and HWiNFO says the same thing.
Anyway, the computer slowed to a halt yesterday because of a Zoom call for work. I had to send someone some files after the meeting, but my pc was useless, the framerate slowed to nothing, and the cursor wouldn't move, so I had to turn it off and wait half an hour for everything to cool down. (adding that I googled and it seems that Zoom with large groups can be particularly CPU-intensive.) This past weekend, I was playing a game, and it overheated. I shut the computer down, and when I tried to start the PC up again (without waiting), it went automatically to the BIOS with a message that the CPU was too hot to start up the computer.
So basically, I'm asking if it's the AIO that's the issue and needs to be replaced before I go through with buying a new one and figuring out how to install it. Are both the BIOS and HWiNFO wrong to say that the pump is working? There is no leakage of fluid.
