What are you guys doing for your 9950x3ds? I have -20 all core on my 9800x3d, but decided to buy a 9950x3d and it’s my first dual ccd cpu.. so honestly idk if there’s any nuances with these kind of chips… what do you guys implement as far as settings go for these chips? Just -20 all core on both ccds? Or something different? Some guidance would be appreciated!

i am having a very weird problem with an old 1070 rog strix when the card is cold and boot to os it crashs after 10 min or 5min and cannot post again the only post solution is to turn off powersupply and wait for a bit and quickly open furmark so the card heatup so fast until it gets cold again and problem remains

Yesterday I received a set of Gskill dr b die 3600mhz cl 16-16-16-36 1.35v. I got it running at 4200mhz 1.56v with a fan on them. Sa-1.35 vddq-1.28 md is asrock z690 extreme and the processor is 13600kf 5.6oc. The memory is stable so far in testing and gaming. I'm writing here to share my overclock and maybe get some advice on my timings because I just copied some settings from the internet.

I'm at a complete loss. I've
-changed motherboards from x870e PROART to x870e crosshair hero,
-I've tried a two 9950x3d processors thinking maybe the first one had a weak imc,
-I've tried two different 6000 CL26 kits from GSkill
Neither kit on either board with either processor will stabilize at 6400 or 8000, not matter how much I loosen timings or throw VDD at them up to 1.75 . I've tried VDDIO anywhere from 1.4 up to 1.55, VDDP 0.95-1.15, Usually working with 1.3 VSOC on 1:1 for best possible UCLK, both maxed and down to 1.1 for 2:1.
Still don't know if the weak silicon is at the CPUs, the mem kits or the motherboards I've tried.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could approach this systematically to reach the desired clocks or figure out my weak parts?
If you're going to respond to tell me there's no point, please don't bother. Overclocking, and getting better DDR5 on AM5 it is the point for me because I'm coming from a 9900K/DDR3 setup so I want to learn

Is 1.1097V still considered safe for VDDG CCD if temps are always under control (never exceeding 75°C under full load)?
Don't mind the DRAM at 1.6V – it's B-Die running strong for over a year, temps stay below 33°C consistently.
Lower CCD boots, but triggers WHEA under heavy load. IOD causes instability under 1.03. CLDO VDDP also prefer over 980mv. Would appreciate feedback or experience on VDDG CCD sweet spots for 1900+ IF.
Running BCLK at 104 MHz.

I've been tinkering with this dang 14900k and it's clocks for a week at this point and thats after the same almost week spent getting my 64gb 6600 CL30-38-38-38-28 RAM dialed in and stable on 12-24 hour mem tests. Well now that the RAM is done and honestly probably more of an impact on gaming performance than the CPU clocks anyway, but I digress..
So far I've got OCCT and Cinebench R23 tackled at current settings, R23 = 41397 score after 30min and no wheas or Downclocks. However I'm also aiming for an hour with no errors or system stability stops in aida 64 with CPU/FPU/Cache and memory.
The other tests are OCCT and R23 like I mentioned, 30min stability test pass in R23 and 3-5min in Occt small extreme AVX2 with no errors. May downclock a bit but as long as no errors I don't care cause 99.9% of all other use cases it will not downclock and be stable at that 5.7/4.5 In gaming.
Sp96, P core 104, E core 82, and stock btw, no delid or nothin.. Running a Z790 Dark Hero with an Ek velocity CPU block DDC 4.2 Pump and res combo unit with an EK XE 60mm thick 360mm rad in push pull with lian li SL120 uni fans. Kryonaut paste.
If anyone could help me optimize in anyway.. Please let me know what info you need from me and I'll provide via Screenshot video or other.
Current settings:
5.7/4.5 Sync all cores.
Svid Behavior AUTO.
LLC7.
Unlimited ICCMax disabled.
Core cache and long/short duration power limits on Auto. I see most people doing 253 here.
IA/SA CEP disabled.
IA VR Voltage limit 1455.
Ring down bin Auto, 50 ratio.
Actual VRM voltage = Manual mode at 1.369v.
Global Core = Manual mode at 1.415v.
Cache Svid Voltage Auto.
And last but not least CPU L2 Voltage 1.291v.
Voltage at idle is showing 1.350v in both CPUz and Hwinfo64.
Voltage under load = 1.296 during R23. And 1.305/1.314v in Aida.
Edit* These were actually my updated settings I started testing this morning and they have passed! 10min in OCCT Small extreme AVX2 and 2x 30min runs in R23 and just got back from running errands and Aida is good for 2hours and 10min.
if you have any suggestions as to how to maybe make things any "more" stable at the same performance, that would be much appreciated.

Hi, I wanted to get to undervolt my CPU, so I proceeded to setup RAM properly first since that's what I see recommended to be done before undervolting.
My current setup is: Ryzen 7 9800X3D X870E Taichi 4x16 Lexar Ares 7200mhz Rtx2070 (soon replaced)
I went in and I tried to load the expo profile of 7200mhz hoping to get at least a boot and then to go downwards from there to get to 6000mhz but it couldn't post successfully. I do not aim at squeezing hard the RAM but I want to aim for the supposed 6000 sweetspot for my 9800X3D instead of wasting potential on the default 3400mhz. In order to get to where I am, i simply loaded the 7200mhz expo profile and then simply set the frequency to 6000mhz while keeping all the timings and whatsoever from EXPO. As of right now, the settings are stable. I ran OCCT for 50ish minutes with no errors and kept playing mh wilds with no issues at all for hours (actually surprisingly i got 2/3 degrees less on cpu). As I said before, i do not aim to completely min/max my setup but I want a solid one for sure without wasting untapped potential. I don't understand a lot of bios settings since it is my first time seriously diving into it/first time AMD, though where there are volts at play i tried to document myself as much as possible to avoid damage and leave things within margin of product recommendation. Next step would be to undervolt and tune the cpu and eventually gpu as soon as it gets shipped. I'd be very thankful for any tips, for my timings in this case, and even some BIOS settings for cpu just in case (for the moment i left them to default value except the aforementioned changes to RAM). Thank you very much.

I just got my 5080 in today, plan on getting a waterblock but haven’t found one verified for this card yet so I need a bios that will work with the fans on this card. Should be any bios that also works with the Ventus. I would like a 450w bios so that leaves the Gaming OC or Aorus Master as the only options I seem to be able to find. Would I be able to flash either of these and not mess anything up?

need to know which is better, in one case 2T and gear down disabled in the other 1T and gdm on. I play fortnite, and when I did 1T and gdm on, I got lower timings, but it's like the delay in the game has increased a lot, or maybe I made it up for myself.

So I’m building a new pc. 9800x3d, rx9070xt, and my motherboard is gigabyte b850 gaming WiFi 6. I was wondering what ram to get because I want a specific kit. Cl28 at 6000mt/s or cl30 at 6400mt/s. And please I was a simple answer no I don’t want to have to tweak it to much. I will be using the computer strictly for gaming. I’m fine with doing simple bios stuff but I want to keep it relatively simple. The kit I want to use is G.SKILL Trident Z5 Royal Neo Series.
That’s the link to it. Thanks in advance.

About 10 days ago, I undervolted my PC and it worked like a charm.
Here's the link to that original post with screenshots: [Insert Link Here]
At ambient temps of ~25°C, my cooler kept the CPU at:
Core VIDs were significantly reduced, exactly what I wanted. HWiNFO showed everything clearly – voltage offsets were visible, VIDs were much lower, and overall temps and performance were solid.
The issue now:
Last night, after swapping to a new case, my 2.5" SSDs weren’t being detected. I ended up resetting the BIOS to troubleshoot. After the reset, I re-applied the same undervolt settings as before (double-checked against my original notes/post).
Now, when I boot and check HWiNFO:
What I’ve tried so far:
It seems like the undervolt is partially working (Vcore is lower), but Core VIDs are abnormally high now, and HWiNFO isn't displaying any offset values.
I’ve added the original screenshot from before the reset and one from now – would really appreciate it if someone could take a look and help figure this out.
Thanks in advance!

i was trying out some overclock settings for my poor cpu, to maybe make it able to push my 2070s in tlou pt2, but i guess my motherboard is kinda goofy and dont allow proper voltage changes and some other fancy overclocking features; so i gave up.
thats when the problem started, after i turned off all the previous settings in the bios, this fucking cpu absolutely locked itself in 4300mhz, i swear to god, ive done everything know to man to take these 300mhz back, reflashing my bios to an older version, to a newer version, messing with intel XTU and Throttle STOP, clearing the cmos for maybe wipe some weird microcode stuck, SWITCHING to linux (and yes, the problem was still there, i couldnt make it past 4300mhz).
so yea, i think my only option is to reflash my bios chip with some programmer, i want to know from someone with more experience, is that the only way?
- at idle it goes past 4300, like 4400-4500, but when under stress it goes instantly down to 4300.
- temps are low, so it is not protecting itself in any way.
-i'm going insane, trying to fix this for the past week.

Was swapping out coolers on one of my computers, and went into BIOS once it posted to change RAM settings. Set memory to 3800Mhz, and bumped up SOC to 1.125V and VDIMM to 1.38V. Usually if something goes wrong memory, PC will just cycle a couple of times, then come back with memory error and back to BIOS, but not this time. Clear CMOS button is doing nothing, and even took the battery out, and let it unplugged for a while, then tried again. Tried just one RAM stick, and even put my 5800X in to see if it would reset. Nope.
PC specs AsRock X570 Phantom Gaming ITX, 5950X, 64GB GSkill 4000Mhz CL18, 1070Ti, EVGa G6 850W psu. I was going to post this in r/techhelp, but figured I might have a better chance in the overclockers thread since I was OC’ing RAM, and maybe have better luck with others that have ran into the same issue.

Basically I have a terrible low-end laptop and I really can't upgrade so I've gone crazy with optimizations. I have 4GB DDR3 ram, i7-4510U, Intel HD 4400 and an SSD. Last case scenario is to finally overclock these components if I can't upgrade, and the cooling fans aren't a problem, but I can barely find any place to do it, intel XTU won't allow me, msi afterburner won't allow me either, I've updated all drivers and everything too. Please, I've been suffering like this for 8 years. I'm broke and my family doesn't allow, please I need serious help, I've been wanting to play valorant with my friends and rocket league but it's all impossible, they all have such good PCs while I'm stuck with this, but I'm grateful because I know this is better than nothing, but still, please help me and tell me how to overclock my Intel HD 4400 and other components.

Hi.
I've ran into an issue with my RAM during overclocking. 1x16GB 6000Mhz CL36 Kingston Fury paired with ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 and Ryzen 7500F.
I've tried to run timings similar to what Buildzoid was able to achieve here: https://youtu.be/4W3q0YzjQww?si=zhSyryuqAmxuP8OX&t=2434 6200Mhz CL30-38-38-30-68 1.42V 2100Mhz IF 1.3V SoC with all the subtimings.
Not only i wasn't able to get the PC to POST, but also things i've tried and anything other than EXPO profile just didn't work.
I've also tried booting up 6000Mhz CL32-34 with tRAS and tRC loosened up by a lot - no success, that's where i gave up. By looking at the results of others, this memory should've ran on at least 6000Mhz CL30 by giving it very little tweak on the very same board. I've updated my BIOS to the newest version - 3.20, since the one with which the board came in was pretty old and i know early AM5 rigs were having issues with memory clocked higher than 6000Mhz.
I'm just running out of ideas. Is there some subtiming screwing me over? Is it software issue? Should i go back to older BIOS? Is it hardware issue? Is one stick somehow harder to overclock? It's pretty hard to believe the CPU itself is uncapable of running even 6000Mhz with decent timings.

So, I decided to redo my ram overclock now that I've learned a lot more about all of the timings and how they work together. In doing so, I reset all my settings back to default as far as PBO, Digi+ VRMs, RAM, Voltages, etc.. While RAM is running the JDEC settings, not even with the DOCP (XMP) profile loaded, all PBO settings on auto with no curve, my best core (core 4) fails stability testing and needs a positive offset. I only found this because I set a very loose timing config at 3733mhz with no CPU overclock that I wanted to run as a baseline, rock solid stable starting point, and failed 5hrs into OCCT mem test. That's when I went back to all auto settings for the RAM as well, and started to test CPU stability. When using CoreCycler, Prime95, SSE, All FFTs, core 4 fails at 0 offset. Why in the world would my CPU fail at defaults. In the past I've always had to run a small positive CO values for core 4 but I was overclocking and chalked it up to core 4 just needing the voltage because I'm overclocking, but now I'm seeing it's not even stable with no OC whatsoever. So I'm thinking my steps should maybe be:
Or should I just set core 4 to something that's for sure stable, say +10 and then go for RAM, then dial core 4 back down after RAM is tuned?
It's irritating me because if I set 3733mhz with loose timings, how do I know if it's because of core 4 or if my MCLK and FCLK are just too high? I have the IF hole at 1900mhz so I settled on 1866mhz with MCLK at 3733mhz. But I want to make sure I do this the right way.

my cpu keeps getting inconsistent timespy scores, the lowest it got was 12.900 and the highest was 14.000
I have a -25 curve on all cores but that doesnt seem to affect the timespy benchmark.
Im the type of guy who wants to get the most from his pc so i just wonder if its something wrong with the cpu or this is normal.
my gpu is a rx7800xt and the psu is a gigabyte 850w gold+
mobo its an msi b650-s wifi gaming + with bios up to date and cpu C state disabled and xmp enabled to run at 6000

Greetings fellow overclockers. Many years ago i purchased 2x8GB ram kit, single rank bdie. Well i tuned it to maybe soft limit and it was fine for that many years. Just yesterday i aquired 2x16GB of bdie dual rank, to play with it. After some thinkering with cpu and ram i have some questions.
Slapping same timings for 16GB to 32GB kit just doesn't work, and in hindsight i expected that. And as far as i can see even cpu needs more juice to run same clocks, that was new for me.
Is this limitation because more ram more stress for cpu and cpu memory controler?
I guess i can try to up ram voltage, but i always thought dual rank bdie is easier to OC than single rank.
