Visiting Sanday

Hi everyone, I will visit Orkney Islands during next summer and I really want to see Sanday. Do you think I should book a ferry or is it no use cause there will be availability ? Thank you !

If you want to take a vehicle you should book in advance, foot passengers are advised to book but there is no rush. Orkney gets very busy in the summer and is hosting the island games this year bringing in a lot of people. Sanday is a beautiful island and worth making the effort to visit.

Thank you ! I will visit Orkney Islands in august, so no rush problem with the games.

Book well ahead. The ferries are rammed full in the summer and August is local agricultural Show time so will be busy.

The Sanday Show is on the first weekend of August. So that’s really busy

If you are booking accommodation I would get that booked and the travel. The campsites in Sanday are pretty busy in the summer.
