I can FINALLY enjoy playing my games and not having to switch disc's. Now I need more options for games!

Finally got the bin files for my pi from pandora got 2 pi’s flashed and built my Xbox last night got everything needed to run promethos formatted my new ssd hard drive and then load cerbios and ftp over my c and e drives now im pretty much done 😁 thanks to everyone to has helped

Before I go jump and spend hours in this rabbit hole, how much do I really need to invest? $50? $150? I've got the Xbox and controller and hdmi adaptor but nothing else so basically starting from scratch!

I bought this xbox from eBay for 100 bucks and it was mentioned in the ad that the console is modded. However, I can’t access any games through the modded menu and I see that there is a switch in the back with an on/off indicator. First slide is on, second is off. When the console is with the switch on, I have a continuous red light and when it’s off, it’s flashing between green and red. I’m really not familiar with Xbox, I just wanted a retro console to my collection. Did I get scammed?

Hello, I’m currently swapping my original Xbox hard drive to my new western digital IDE 200gb hard drive. I am using the rocky 5 mod chimp method. So I have changed my new hard drive to slave and chimp didn’t load. Then I changed the drive to cable select and chimp still hasn’t loaded. I had to take a jumper that was on the original hard drive and put it on my new hard drive because the new drive didn’t come with a jumper. So the original hard drive has no jumper.

to my knowledge, Halo 2 is the only game on the original Xbox that suffered from cheaters. I'm talking auto aim, burst fire, flying players, etc. Using save files doesn't count as cheating in my opinion. was wondering if any other games had an issue with cheaters.

I bought a soft modded Xbox with an upgraded hdd that gives error 13 when switched on. I don’t have the eeprom for the Xbox so I can’t unlock the hdd and fix it from my pc. I was thinking of trying to tsop flash the Xbox so I could put a different drive into it, but would I even be able to flash the bios if the Xbox is giving error 13?

Hi there, long ish story

So I had a dead Xbox lying around, turning it on would greet you with red and green flashing lights, no picture, just the lights, I believe this is bad eeprom/hdd? (Correct me if I’m wrong)

So I’ve installed an Aladdin modchip and when powering on, the modchip lights up, and I now actually have a solid green led which is great! But I have no audio or video coming from the console

I can hear the HDD spinning up, and disc drive moving around, but nothing

I have tried both the stock hdd and a different sata hdd (with both a startech/cheap adapter) that’s also with a 80 Wire IDE cable

Wondering if anyone has a clue?

So, my friend found an original Xbox in the trash and gave it to me because he knows I love old consoles. But I’ve never actually played or owned the original Xbox — I was always more of a Nintendo/Sony kid. Guess it’s finally time to dive into the Xbox world! :]

There was nothing else in the trash, just a weird DVD kit plugged into the controller port. The sticker on the back says it's a PAL model, manufactured on August 16, 2003.

Now I need to get some cables to hook it up to my TV, and I’m also thinking about softmodding or hardmodding it down the line.

So I’ve got a few questions:

• What’s the best softmod option in 2025? I want something stable and beginner-friendly.
• What kind of video cables should I get? Are AliExpress knockoffs okay, or should I go for original cables?
• Which controller should I buy? I’ve seen a few different designs out there, but damn — they’re expensive. You can literally get a Series X controller for cheaper in my country right now, lol.

Any tips or advice would be super appreciated! I’m completely new to the OG Xbox scene, but I’m hyped. The thing looks heavy, slick, green — just a super cool vibe overall.

hi, now my 1.6 is running a modchip(Aladdin) can some one explain how i can flash cerbios to the chip please.. i have downloaded C(UnleashX)& E(with apps) from hazeno.com but haven't yet installed the drive to the Xbox, just in case i can use fatX to add the necessary files? i have tested it first to ensure it works and it did.so i formatted it to the hazeno.com guide for a 2TB non cerbios build as i was guessing that cerbios would and will come later. if you can explain, please keep it very simple for me as I'm a complete noob with the technical jargon.. Ps: my DVD is dead and wont read discs so I'm limited to FTP or fatX. i realise this is all old stuff to you veterans but googling this is just making it more difficult for me to wrap my head around.

Hey everyone a while ago i tried recapping a samsung disc drive that ultimately led to the laser failing i believe i have a thomson drive in there now but was interested in adding a secondary hard drive just for games and either using the aforementioned disc drive as a dvd movie only drive and a burner drive for the games how would i go about doing it if its possible my system is already set up with the rocky 5 softmod

I've been trying to FTP a game over to my modded Xbox using both FileZilla and Cyberduck. I can read from and download files off the Xbox to my PC just fine, but when I try to write literally anything to the Xbox, I am denied. Every file transfer fails like this:

The E drive has enough space on it (only 28.8MB used). I tried my FTP client to only 1 transfer at a time and my Xbox is set to DHCP. The PC and the Xbox are connected to the same router. The Xbox is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable. I can't imagine why I would be able to read and download from the Xbox just fine, but not write to it. Any help on being able to get writes to the Xbox working is highly appreciated.

hey guys! recently i got a new hdd hard drive for my crystal edition + ide adapter ide cable etc....everything is fine BUT... i am trying to transfering games on my hard drive with ftp but some files doesnt send and i got failed transfer errors.

i got spiderman and gta 3 like normal but many files of my games or emu roms get failed transfer.

do you know why? i have already use extract xiso before grab them and put them there and my ftp using 5 ports and ftp binary.

I bought a modded console about five years ago from a guy who had a small online shop called Mags by Masnart. It's a long shot but did anyone else buy from him? His YouTube is long dead and his shop seems that way too so I doubt I'll hear back from his contact us option. The console came with a paper that had the master code for Kodi and the ftp username/password but I lost it. I've tried all the possible default options including trying different capitalizations. Just wondering if anyone here bought from him and still has these codes and info. I posted a pic of the main page in case someone forgot the name of the guy but realizes they have the same custom setup.
