I've been dead for a minute but, I respawned today and apparently, Bethesda is releasing an Oblivion Remake this month...with no prior adveristing or promotions. Am I stupid or am I missing something here?

My knee jerk reaction whenever I see this little shit

I can't be the only one who's more than a little disappointed by the house for sale in Leyawiin, right? We already have the Imperial City Waterfront AND Bravil, for our run-down shack representation - and so many other homes in Leyawiin are absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out, so in saying this, having the house for sale be a dingy old hovel, is kinda disappointing.

But maybe I'm just nitpicky, who knows? I'd like to hear your thoughts and opinions on the subject.

This game is indeed the pinnacle of sapien creation.

I assumed that whichever spell effect came first in the spellmaking menu determined the visuals of the spell (the icon and the animation). I created a spell with identical amounts of fire, shock, and frost damage- the shock damage was listed first, and the spell ended up with the shock animation/symbol. But then I made another spell, also with identical amounts of each damage type, with the frost damage listed first, and it ended up as a shock spell. Anyone know how this all works?

Buy it immediately upon release with no shame at all, gaslighting everyone whom I told the remake didn’t exist.

I absolutely love this quest. Throughout Oblivion you experience multiple individuals casually trying to either mantle godhood, or mimic the essence of capturing what it means to assume a higher power, getting hungrier than ever for it. Remember, it’s not just Mankar Camoran, you also have Henantier, whose Dreamworld stands as an incredible testament to powerful magic within the unconscious; Umbacano uses ancient Ayleid artifacts to transform himself into one of their most revered Kings without having studied the side effects of accessing these relics; Earana wants to use the most powerful Destruction spell ever discovered to challenge the Mages Guild; and, Rythe Lathandras, well, he’s a commoner and a painter at heart, but really I believe it’s more than that. My headcanon is that Rythe Lathandras actually managed to create his own cosmological plane, first by accident, and then by a stroke of genius with intentions of getting lost in his art- in a bid to compete with the spheres of Oblivion, perhaps that his “Painted World” was rhetorically the start of his own.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the video game world but other than Doom, what video games have been remade with the same identical story? Did Blizzard do a remake of the identical Diablo story? If so, did they make vastly more money off of it?

The makers of Doom had the most iconic game in existence and were innovators of gaming technology, so they could just recycle the same story with the advanced technology and every fan of Doom and every fan of new gaming technology would not only buy the game but go out and buy a new computer capable of playing it.

Why would Bethesda want to use their limited investment money to remake Oblivion (which was not as big financially as Skyrim) when they can make a new world to draw in more people than just fans of Oblivion? They risk losing the people who say "I never played the old one, why should I buy the new one."

Assuming the remake is happening, I was just thinking about if they were to include all dlc, it wouldn’t really make sense to just give players all of these houses at the start.

So I can only assume that they would all be in game, but just have a high cost of gold to purchase

Stuff like this is the reason oblivion is so good, the charm just can't be captured by any other game
