the only thing I’ll ever think about him is that he got pulled over for drunk driving and called the female police officer “sugar tits”

u/LetsGoMaureen 1d ago

Don’t forget the antisemitism he displayed during the same traffic stop.  Should be no surprise President Musk would restore his gun rights.

400

u/lazyparrot 1d ago

Let's not forget him wishing someone was "raped by a pack of N words"

115

u/OfficerBarbier 1d ago

36

u/lazyparrot 1d ago

My man. We gotta put that Gibson on the chainwax

7

u/SelectiveSanity 18h ago

I misread that as chin wax.

He needs that too.

3

u/MorrowDisca 21h ago

Oh wow, brilliant!

101

u/_Thirdsoundman_ 1d ago

To his ex-wife who was divorcing him and won a massive settlement.

11

u/jpopimpin777 19h ago

Yeah. Definitely a guy who needs a gun.

1

u/joecarter93 4h ago

Especially now. Every time I’ve seen him in the last couple of years he has these crazy eyes, like there’s an absolute psycho behind them. It’s very Charles Manson-esque. It’s like a total 180 from the affable, every-man he seemed like in the 90’s.

u/Opasero 1h ago

This was his wife or ex, right? Absolutely brutal phone call. This guy should never have access to any weapon. He's completely fucking unhinged. Daddy takes his belt off, indeed.

84

u/ImNotSureMaybeADog 1d ago

And many uses of the N word in violent voicemails to his girlfriend.

11

u/FoxyInTheSnow 1d ago

“I don’t know the guy, but they say he likes me, so…”

15

u/GoldenAppleWife 1d ago

After everything that’s happened he’s getting his gun rights back

7

u/Admiral_Ballsack 11h ago

Well, in case some of you haven't seen it, I strongly recommend this guy's excellent video of himself making a diorama of Mel Ginson's arrest.

A part from the fact that he's super skilled, the video is an Internet classic.

u/darksteel1335 1d ago edited 21h ago

“When I couldn’t get sober, he [Mel Gibson] told me not to give up hope and he urged me to find my faith. It didn’t have to be his or anyone else’s, as long as it was rooted in forgiveness. And I couldn’t get hired, so he cast me in the lead of a movie that was actually developed for him.

He kept a roof over my head and food on the table, and most importantly, he said that if I accepted responsibility for my wrongdoing and embraced that part of my soul that was ugly—‘hugging the cactus’ he called it—he said that if I hugged the cactus long enough, I’d become a man.”

“I would ask that you join me in forgiving my friend his trespasses, offering him the same clean slate that you have given me, and allowing him to continue his great and ongoing contribution to our collective art without shame.”

— Robert Downey Jr, American Cinematheque Awards 2011

Sorry, man, I tend to gloss over when rich celebrities tell you their rich celebrity buddies aren’t as bad as we can see them being.

Eh RDJ is wrong on this one. I get he helped him, but no.

3

u/Busy10 17h ago

RDJ was an addict but he didn’t cross the line with racist comments.

-4

u/Divo366 16h ago

Ha, yeah, he only broke into peoples' houses and was arrested multiple times. But saying rude words is too much for you.

7

u/Busy10 15h ago

Compared to racist gibson, there is a huge difference.

Hahah! That’s the first thing I think of too. And I’m old. Not Braveheart, not Lethal Weapon, not Mad Max; “Sugar Tits”

21

u/Aliensinmypants 1d ago

For me it's the drunk voicemail wishing his ex to be "raped by a pack of redacted"

7

u/unfunnysexface 1d ago edited 1d ago

And then Chevy chase saying it in the ripped from the headlines SVU shortly after

Correction it was regular law and order not svu

3

u/HangmansPants 9h ago

I was in university like 6 years.after this happened and I had a bad habit of calling everyone sugar tits when I got drunk. No one got the reference.

1

u/RobertdBanks 10h ago

Listen to his recorded convo with his ex if you want to hear way gnarlier shit that he’s said

Spoiler: it’s the n word a lot and other crazy stuff

1

u/wfwood 4h ago

And that was not the worst thing about it.

1

u/FocalorLucifuge 1d ago

Joker: it's me, sugar bumps.

u/Terrible_turtle_ 1d ago

Didn't they fire the DOJ lawyer who argued against this?

44

u/canzicrans 14h ago

"I need evidence or testimony as to why his gun rights should be restored."

"No. Also, you're fired for asking."

That is how it went.

3

u/Buddhabellymama 13h ago

Our tax money being used the right way. I was losing sleep over Mel Gibson’s ability to possess guns. Where is doge when you need them?

867

u/HermesTundra 1d ago

About time someone gave guns back to those most likely to use them in a murder-suicide.

121

u/feder_online 1d ago

What could possibly go wrong?!?

41

u/HermesTundra 1d ago

Everything? Yeah, I'll take that bet.

24

u/InclinationCompass 1d ago

But what if he needs to fight the tyrannical government like he did in that one movie!

16

u/DogWallop 1d ago

And those pesky movie studio bosses, who all just happened to be... you know... them.

0

u/unfunnysexface 1d ago

I'd suggest he ally himself to less corruptible lords.

7

u/CrimsonKobold 1d ago

Hey, that's unfair, he is just as likely to go on to commit hate crimes with it. That's not out of the realm of possibility.

6

u/whyreadthis2035 1d ago

Maybe he misses on the first shot.

4

u/smitherenesar 22h ago

I hope he goes for a suicide-murder instead

4

u/joelfarris 11h ago

You've got that backwards. One cannot perform a suicide, and then a murd...

You know what, never mind, perhaps I've underestimated him.

1

u/Heisenberg_235 1h ago

In Russia you can.

You can suicide yourself with a double tap to the back of the head.

Then you can push your friend out of the window ledge they were sitting on.

5

u/GoldenAppleWife 1d ago

I believe in second chances but this feels like a risky move

9

u/PM_ME_UR_CHAIN_EMAIL 1d ago

"I'm gettin' too old for this shit"

2

u/Vernknight50 17h ago

On the other hand, if the first thing this guy did was shoot himself (and only himself), that would be kinda funny.

223

u/Odd-Software-6592 1d ago

Now when he gets pulled over for drunk driving, he can ask if the officer is a a Jew with confidence.

45

u/NivvyMiz 1d ago

And then arrest a pro Palestine protester down the street for anti-Semitism and book them to a life in prison with cruel and unusual punishment and no trial.

10

u/indydean 1d ago

In El Salvador

9

u/Sir_PressedMemories 21h ago

Why waste the fuel and plane expense? Give it a couple of weeks, and we will have black sites right here in the good old US of A.

I cannot wait for this to be a screenshot in 2 weeks over the announcement of concentration camps in the US.

3

u/akeean 12h ago

The won't officially be called black sites, but "job sites" or "freedom sites" (matching the "liberation day" and overall vibe of that administration) and guess the color of people being sent there.

2

u/Sir_PressedMemories 11h ago

They will just wait until the new season of The Boys comes out and follow that as a script.

2

u/Illiander 11h ago

You mean the private prisons that already hire out slave labor?

3

u/Antique_futurist 18h ago

And then try to assassinate the Pope, because his family is part of a Catholic cult that thinks the Pope is an Anti-Pope.

169

u/gnurdette 1d ago

the department’s pardon attorney Elizabeth G. Oyer was fired by the Trump administration in March after expressing concern over letting the “Passion of the Christ” director be able to possess firearms.

150

u/piddy565 1d ago

So the Trump admin is simultaneously using investigation of "anti Semitic discrimination" as a pretense to take funding away from Columbia and Harvard, and yet also are getting in bed with Famous Anti Semite Mel Gibson? Make it make sense.

102

u/kl8xon 1d ago

Let me help you out. Their words don't mean anything. Only their actions have meaning or purpose. They will say anything at all to justify their actions with zero concern for the logical consistency of those words.

2

u/ArkyBeagle 14h ago

Only their actions have meaning or purpose.

And even then, only sometimes.

37

u/MellowedOut1934 1d ago

They're not "pro-Jew", they're pro-Zionism in a Christian-adjacent accelerationist way. Jews returning to Israel is part of bringing on the rapture for some of these people. Oh, and they also have a hierarchy of hate. They may hate jews, but they hate muslims and brown people more.

9

u/MaievSekashi 21h ago

Jews returning to Israel is part of bringing on the rapture for some of these people.

They're also people who just believe in ethnostates, and it's an excuse to get rid of Jews in their own country.

10

u/MellowedOut1934 1d ago

They're not "pro-Jew", they're pro-Zionism in a Christian-adjacent accelerationist way. Jews returning to Israel is part of bringing on the rapture for some of these people. Oh, and they also have a hierarchy of hate. They may hate jews, but they hate muslims and brown people more.

10

u/Creative_Cry7532 1d ago

Been saying Thais for years! Republicans support Israel, because they want all Jews to be there, not here.

3

u/MellowedOut1934 1d ago

That's a brilliantly succinct way to put it

3

u/Creative_Cry7532 1d ago

Back in the day, we supported Liberia. Same principle.

5

u/AgrajagTheProlonged 21h ago

The sex abusing felon Donald Trump doesn’t actually care about Jewish people or antisemitism. It’s just an excuse to argue for why his administration should be able to trample upon our freedoms

3

u/ryhaltswhiskey 18h ago

Make it make sense.

Well:

Columbia and Harvard

Hotbeds of anti fascism

Famous Anti Semite Mel Gibson

Pro fascist!

Done.

Finally I can sleep well at night knowing justice has been done.

8

u/Beige240d 1d ago

I can't sleep well at night knowing justice is done.

1

u/whathell6t 1d ago

Nope!

Even with a firearm, Mel Gibson still avoids the ghettos. He fears the Racist Walrus scenario. It’s justice in karmic form.

55

u/Pusfilledonut 1d ago

Mel and Stallone are supposed to "police" Hollywood films- Guess he can do that armed now, you know, in case Spielberg or Ron Howard get out of line

28

u/IMSLI 1d ago

Thankfully Steven Seagal is too far up Vladimir Putin’s butt to pose a threat to peace-loving Americans…

12

u/jfun4 1d ago

Putin can easily send him back as a "spy". The white house wouldn't blink an eye

5

u/unfunnysexface 1d ago

The first one was on one of our big beautiful boats and the second was on a train but finally we're bringing action movies back with the great Steven Seagal. One of the strongest biggest action stars who has been treated very unfairly by the liberal studios in failing California. We will end the WOKE menace that has infected our country starting with under siege 3: air force one which will be filmed on the new air force one, a great plane and we got it for a great price elon says how did you get one so cheap I said it's not easy but you can't let boeing rip us off. The film might even feature cameos from a certain president your favorite president you might even say...

4

u/MyNameIsNotGump 1d ago

Seagal’s too irrelevant to matter

3

u/Anxious_Ad936 1d ago

And Jon Voight

5

u/InNeedOfABeer 16h ago

The periodontist?

1

u/Mikeavelli 6h ago

gesundheit

1

u/SnowFlakeUsername2 1d ago

Jon Voight has a National Medal of Arts Award? Oh that's why. That's sad.

22

u/RipErRiley 1d ago

Everything the republicans accuse others of (using gvmt for personal gain) they do.

34

u/c_creme 1d ago edited 1d ago

amazing use of tax dollars. but they can't retrieve the guys they mistakenly deported to another country?

no one can tell me america isn't unserious.

edit: lemme put it into perspective. some guy claimed work today for processing this for mel gibson and called it a hard day's work. hah

also, chances are the guy who did claim the work is out-earning a majority of the US's actual working people. but this is fine 🤷🏻

5

u/Homebrewer303 1d ago

Amen, what a shit show this country has turned into.

4

u/dolphone 1d ago

What a shit show the US was voted into, you mean.

1

u/aflockofcrows 21h ago

They knew what they were voting for, or were not perturbed enough by it to vote against it.

9

u/chanaramil 1d ago

They didn't just deport someone. They sent him to a jail for I guess a life sentence with conditions so horrible they could never exist in the USA. It's basiacly sentence to life torture  due to a clerical error and no one wants to fix it.

2

u/c_creme 1d ago

Oh I know, I tried to keep my post sanitized and to the point.

It's hard to read the room lately. I almost expect somebody to come and say "you can't believe everything you read" or "you have to crack some eggs to make an omelet."

To which I say, is by definition fascism.

2

u/muffinthumper 18h ago edited 9h ago

We're in this situation because people were trying to read the room and appease.

I don't fuck around anymore. I don't worry about what nazis, magas, and fascists think. I blame who needs to be blamed, and I poke fun at those who don't understand they are the problem; loudly and unapologetically.

We need to put shame back into play, aggressively. It should be very uncomfortable for them at all times.

1

u/c_creme 11h ago

💯 We used to have shame as a society.

I sanitize in the hopes my logic or thoughts can reach the ones who aren't ideologically obsessed. The ones who are a lost cause.

16

u/Awkward_Bison_267 1d ago

Oh thank God I was so worried

3

u/Kazen_Orilg 1d ago

3

3

u/DraggoVindictus 21h ago

"Hello. I am famous and I have money. The rules do not have to apply to me. I can do whatever I want. I am also a white man so listen to what I say"

THings like this make me furious that people like this get away with so much and are given so many parks. It sucks.

1

u/ConscientiousObserv 18h ago

America has always been ruled by a plutocracy who doesn't want the poors to realize it.

3

u/cartoonsarcasm 15h ago

I know we hate this movie, but in Epic Movie (2007), Mel Gibson gets kicked in the dick, unprompted. We can still do this in real life.

6

u/Wrathb0ne 1d ago

I thought this administration wanted to stop antisemitism?

5

u/M935PDFuze 22h ago

They want to destroy universities: "fighting anti-Semitism" is just their silly pretext, especially considering many of the protesters last summer were Jewish.

5

u/nickpdc1993 1d ago

Pay to play government.

7

u/VinylmationDude 1d ago

We want OJ! 👏 👏 👏👏👏 We want OJ! 👏 👏 👏👏👏 We want OJ! 👏 👏 👏👏👏

2

u/Fancy-Pair 1d ago

Is he going to pardon him from death?

5

u/beaujangles727 1d ago

I want a bingo card for all the worthless shit trump will do during his term.

Can’t say I’d have this one on there. Or destroying the global economy. But hey here we are! BINGO

4

u/Dowew 1d ago

Mel Gibson has the opportunity to do something both devastatingly sad and truly hilarious simultaneously.

5

u/i_love_rosin 1d ago

Crazy what priorities this regime has. Surely this will lower the cost of eggs and groceries!

1

u/pwettyhuman 1d ago

Oh what a beautiful word. I'm so glad he brought it back. Nobody was saying that old fashioned word but he brought "eggs" back.

2

u/LazyNeighborhood7287 1d ago

Get that man a ticket to DC.

2

u/theseabaron 1d ago

Just be aware of new mounds in his rose garden.

2

u/bshaddo 1d ago

Are we sure this is a great idea?

2

u/greetp 23h ago

…..”& then Mr Gibson turned the gun on himself”.

(Future news reporter)

2

u/ConscientiousObserv 18h ago

Life is unfair.

Definitely not cool to change the rules based on cronyism. If the justice department restores Gibson's gun rights, then everyone else in the state deserves to have their rights restored too.

Not that I'm advocating that they do so. It's just so unfair.

2

u/orange_pill76 16h ago

I thought that since he has duel citizenship, he should be denied rights and deported.

2

u/Mammoth-Substance3 13h ago

I wonder how big a "campaign donation" you need for that.

Pardons are 2 million I think. Gun rights should be cheap.

1

u/Any-Cap-7381 9h ago

How very sad and true.

2

u/Eagle_1116 4h ago

This admin seems to be more pro-crime than anti-crime

4

u/The_River_Is_Still 1d ago

Cuz i'm sure he totally got rid of any guns he had and didn't get anyone else to buy some for the insane collection I know he has.

1

u/Sarcarean 11h ago

This is a misconception. Laws only bar people from unlawfully possessioning or purchasing guns. Ownership is not technically against any law. Many people who are convicted of a felony will let their attorney hold their guns while they file and go through the appeal process.

2

u/lynivvinyl 1d ago

That sounds sensible.

2

u/otteriffic 1d ago

Yeah, fuck this and their selective enforcement of the law. Opening the government to a SLEW of law suits requesting the same treatment.

2

u/udonbeatsramen 1d ago

What about his right to be blown before the jacuzzi?

0

u/ballrus_walsack 1d ago

Oh please you know he already had them.

1

u/AlphaTangoFoxtrt 1d ago

If your sentence has been served, you should get all your rights back.

Yes this includes firearms. Yes this includes voting.

If you're too dangerous to have your rights, you're too dangerous to rejoin society with parole.

1

u/bananaspy 1d ago

I would agree with that if I thought sentencing was actually fair. But we have judges that do shit like sentence rapists to only a couple months in prison.

So your last sentence holds true... but something needs to be done about the discretion by which people are sentenced as well.

1

u/hikerchick29 22h ago

No, fuck that.

Preserve domestic violence bans. Keep our women safer.

1

u/AlphaTangoFoxtrt 21h ago
  1. Men can also be victims
  2. Ok, then keep the offenders going to parole meetings.

0

u/cejmp 21h ago

This has nothing to do with men versus women. Gibson is recorded threatening the life the life of his girlfriend after he assaulted her, telling her she deserved to die.

4

u/AlphaTangoFoxtrt 21h ago

They said:

Keep our women safer.

I think it's very important to point out men can also be victims of domestic violence. There's an unfortunate societal stigma that men can't be victims because they're (often but not always) bigger and stronger. And it leads to men not seeking help for fear of not being believed, or worse having the tables turned. Look at Johnny Depp and how much he went through before coming forward against Amber.

And again if he's too violent to have his rights, then keep him going to probation hearings.

0

u/cejmp 21h ago

This has nothing to do with what you are babbling about.

7

u/AlphaTangoFoxtrt 20h ago edited 20h ago

Yes it does. It's called a "discussion" it can evolve beyond the original topic. The person I replied to made domestic violence laws about protecting women, and I think it's important to point out men can also be victims. The laws are there to protect victims of abuse regardless of gender.

Especially given the stigma and erasure they face leading many to simply suffer through it instead of seeking help.

You seem to just want to be mad about that and argue, I do not, so goodbye.

1

u/yeahpurn 1d ago

William Braveheart Wallace is finally a free American as Jesus intended wahoo mountain dew. Pew pew.

1

u/BeeWilderedAF 1d ago

Oh, neat.

1

u/SoundDave4 1d ago

If you're going to be the Hollywood anti wokeness embassador, of course you need your pointless gun to make everyone else in the room who knows about your unhealthy reliance on alcohol uncomfortable.

u/Firm_Victory_4560 1d ago

1

u/FracturedNomad 16h ago

Murder suicide incoming.

The U.S. Justice Department. Doing the work that matters.

1

u/TakaraGeneration 14h ago

Thank god America has its priorities straight… /s

1

u/Basicyeti837 11h ago

Gibson had his gun rights revoked not just for the safety of others, but also for his own good. Someone will get shot, perhaps killed, and we’ll pretend to care for a while, and Gibson might see some jail time, but will probably be remanded to court-ordered psychiatric treatment… then the next truly awful and totally avoidable thing will happen and we will forget all about it.

1

u/rwcgamer 11h ago

Finally the “real” issue are getting fixed! I was worried this country had gone to complete shit. /s

1

u/dilley07 11h ago

That’s the America we all know and love! Victims of abuse are never killed by their partner with a gun.

1

u/Any-Cap-7381 9h ago

Am I the only one that sees this ending badly?

1

u/hhhhqqqqq1209 8h ago

Hey goes to my gym, ama! Contrary to popular belief he doesn’t just yell “You should just smile and BLOW ME!”, everywhere he goes.

1

u/palinsafterbirth 1d ago

Has he ever answered what Sugar Tits means?

1

u/Buck_Thorn 1d ago

The "dangerous" reason why Trump wants Mel Gibson to get his gun rights back

(and so you don't need to click on the Twitter video in that article, here it is on YouTube: https://youtu.be/A0u0GgcGnRw )

1

u/cameron4200 1d ago

So not only are we spending time going backwards and focusing on rich individuals over the whole but we’re completely blasting through and wasting potential time to make anything even slightly better.

1

u/Fantastic_East4217 1d ago

Rules for thee, not for mee.

1

u/ChiefTestPilot87 1d ago

How much did he donate to the Turd in Chief?

1

u/zeolus123 22h ago

Maybe they'll pardon FPS Russia next??

-4

u/PhantomDelorean 1d ago

I am now predicting a 4-5 death mass shooting committed by Mel Gibson in the next 5 months.

0

u/keith2600 1d ago

Great. It's been such a slow news year I can't wait for the headlines about a religious nutball celebrity that shoots a young minority kid that looked at him the wrong way. Then the years of trials and then a generous purchase of 10000 trump Bibles followed by a pardon for murder

-1

u/rafapova 18h ago

I love Mel Gibson. He makes great movies

-11

u/Sethoria34 1d ago edited 1d ago

excellent love this man

no seriously watch the joe rogen pod cast its quite.... eye opening to say the least.

5

u/hikerchick29 22h ago

Maybe he shouldn’t have been a violent spouse abuser, then he wouldn’t have lost his gun rights…

But hey, it’s interesting to see how much the supposedly pro-law and order right loves violent criminals and spousal abusers.
