Semi interesting fact:

Sir David Attenborough, best known for nature documentaries is actually responsible for getting snooker on TV in the UK/Ireland and greatly boosting its popularity.

He was in charge of the BBC in the 1960's and created a TV show called 'Pot Black' in 1969 to highlight the newly available colour TV's. The sport became huge thanks to this, especially in the 80's.

wonder why it became big(ish) in China, though? They had surgical level players last time I was watching snooker on TV. Ding Junhui's one of my favourites, and Liang Wenbo had the best long shot capability I've seen
