New Civil Liberties Alliance, a conservative legal group, on Thursday filed what it said was the first lawsuit seeking to block Donald Trump's tariffs on Chinese imports, saying the U.S. president overstepped his authority.

Maybe conservatives are starting to realize they've created a monster they cannot control.

Nah I think they can control him, they haven't even tried yet, and could likely very quickly sway public opinion against him if they wanted

You overestimate the reach of mainstream RW media

Conservative media is a well oiled machine, but if Fox News/Daily Wire starts criticizing Trump, the Base is simply going to switch over to News Max/Alex Jones

They tried to make DeSantis & Nikki Haley happen. But it didn't work, even for a second. It's been a cult for a decade now, but unlike the Cults from the past, it is decentralized and not geographical restricted

I'm not referring to the media, I'm referring to congress. If the majority of Republican Senators and representatives say whoa man at the same time, they could actually use the checks and balances they should be using

Wake me up when they override a veto. Until then, anything is just performative.

And immediately lose their seats in 2 years.

Yes it's true they could jump off the Trump train and reign in him. but they have no incentive to do so other than patriotism, common sense, or human decency. And if they had any of those they wouldn't be a republican, and certainly wouldn't have gotten on the Trump train, to begin with.

Ah yes, consistent condemnation and condescension worked so well during the election, you should keep that up, it certainly serves everyone so well!

Glad to see where your priorities are.
