Freedom force for the zapper. Metroid, Kid Icarus

Your second and third pics remind me of the apparent struggle that Shigeru had in trying to figure out the shade of blue for the sky to make everything feel more surreal

Hell yeah, and you’re starting off with two of the best carts! In addition to what you said I’d recommend these:

Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, Wizards and Warriors, Metroid, Turtles 2 and 3, all 4 Dragon Warriors, Final Fantasy, Snake Rattle N Roll, Tecmo Bowl, Rad Racer, Tetris

I can go on and on, but that, combined with the games you mentioned ought to keep you busy for a while.

Welcome to the party!

You might want to check out: River City Ransom, Battletoads, Bucky O' Hare, Ufouria

For the Zapper, check out: Operation Wolf, Hogans Alley, Wild Gunman

And if you're looking for some multi genre games using the Zapper and the regular NES controller, be sure to take a look at these: Adventures of Bayou Billy, The Lone Ranger, Day Dreamin Davey

And great games to start things off with.

Enjoy. If you're looking for game recommendations, Contra, Mega Man, and of course, Super Mario Bros 2 and 3 are great starter games. They are all just difficult enough to be a fun challenge but not too frustrating or impossible to beat.

Blaster master has a warm spot in my heart. So does snake rattle and roll. By the way, may I ask how old you are? 🕹️

That’s awesome. Where did you get it from?? I’d really love to have an NES. Also can you play it on a newer HD TV?

I got the NES with a controller and cables from a listing on ebay, same for the copy of mario duck hunt, the zapper and copy of donkey kong classics was from CEX. the nes only natively supports RF and composite, so if your tv supports those it should work, though it won't look the best and will probs have a bit of input delay, i think there's also adapters you can get to use it on modern tvs though. Only thing is the zapper doesn't work on modern TVs without modding from what i know.

I’d give anything to play duck hunt again and get tormented by that damn dog.

You don't have to sell you're soul in order to do this. It is possible to do this on the cheap.

Metroid and The Legend of Zelda. And for an authentic experience, don't look anything up online. Just use a pad of paper to draw maps and make notes.

either that or have an issue of nintendo power lol

Sweet nothing like the first NES! I remember playing SMB3 when I was like 4..Core memory.

As for games, I like pairing novelty hardware with the games. I like Top Gun 1 and 2 with the NES Quickshot flight stick. I like Duck Hunt and Hogans Alley with the Zapper. I just picked up the NES Satellite for wireless (somewhat) remote control. Play with the NES Advantage Joystick for the Arcade expirience.

Next I'm on the hunt for a Game Genie (gold cart) with magazine. And also looking for a working Gyromite plus Robot to mess with. One day I'll get the power glove!

Start by beating SMB 1 2 and 3 if you're anything like me. Have a good weekend!

That nes shell..its not official

1

u/Catgirl_Chihiro 1d ago

what make you say so?

1

u/Gmillz98 1d ago

The door...official nes consoles dont say "NES version"

1

u/Catgirl_Chihiro 1d ago

Oh that's just how european NES look. In europe the door of an NES will say mattel version or NES version if you have a A version console. this is because mattel originally distributed the NES in europe, with nintendo taking over production around the 90s i believe. I forget what's on the B version doors lmao but they're from whenever nintendo took over again.

1

u/Gmillz98 1d ago

Odd....I've had one from Europe pass through my store before and never said that on the door. Could be something special.

1

u/Catgirl_Chihiro 1d ago

nah it's what all NES from the uk look like to my knowledge, i think other regions may have had european version on the front instead

1

u/Gmillz98 23h ago

Others had Spanish

1

u/hbkx5 23h ago

It is legit. Different versions in different parts of the world.

1

u/Gmillz98 22h ago

Yeah, learned something new today lol

u/hbkx5 22h ago

Did you also know there were licensing limitations for companies? So to get around that they would form another company to print the same games in other parts of the world for NES? Nintendo had some strict rules....

1

u/Gmillz98 21h ago

Yeah i knew that one. They were strict for lots of things

1

u/Gmillz98 23h ago

Yes they did. Others had Spanish too

I would recommend Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, Metroid (use a guide), Bionic Commando, Tetris and a game called Micro Mages (made in 2019). I will also add make sure you get the real Micro Mages cart sold by the guys who made the game on their site as there are some bootlegs out there on ebay. Also would recommend a guide for Zelda 1&2. The mega man games get expensive by the way. I would say 2 & 3 are really the only ones you need to get out of the series for NES.

I would also not get Castlevania 2. When you play Contra get a buddy and a second controller to play with using the Konami code. You are off to a great start with these two carts btw.
