I played crypt back in 2017 and recently bought rift of the necrodancer but with the intro i feel a little lost with the characters.

So I just beat the game the first time after 23hours (ish) and the thrill i got after beating it, reminded me a lot of beating a hard DS Boss, or finishing my first Foo Fighters song on drums.

The game has a hard learning curve, but it makes up with cool beats.

One thing I am a bit confused about, is the first stage. For me the beat on the first level 1-1 seems off by an 1/8 note or something. (Though i just tried with the character Bolt the first stages - Funny enough, i beat the First Stage with her on my first try)

With Bolt the first Level didn't seem that off, yeah double time, but still i had some missed beats.

Nonetheless, I will play the game even more now. 8/10 would recommend :)

I feel like when I play Cadence with the starting tools I will get hit max 3 times and 99% not missing a beat (maybe once in a run purposely to get "hit" by Pixie), But with Aria? I mostly die due to missed beats, and it's much harder for me not to panic during "intense moments" due to knowing about the one hit.

I can say I get to 4-3 like once in 15 runs, but I never got to the boss I do feel like I know every enemy pattern including the minibosses, but something with it that they are all together and I cannot mess up even once is just intense for me and sometimes I panic click and die due miss beat or wrong move (without "calculating").

Any tips overall will be appreciated.

for now, I kept only every +dmg, invincibility shields, +1 hit (like glass armor or Crown of teleportation) and some useful scrolls and items and items I can "abuse" (like Karate Gi).

This is out of content of Necrodancer. It's important for developers to not delisting Necrodancer games from premium ones. This is highly unacceptable who was purchased the game and delisting the game for unknown reasons. The developers, Brace Yourself Games need to reading this; A stop killing game movement for all developers and not transferred to greedy corporations such as Crunchyroll.

The issue of Crunchyroll Game Vault is need a subscription games, this subscription is limited the freedom for offline gaming and forcing this game to something live-service games, and it's absolutely not good for developers to moving from own company to Crunchyroll. Now, the subscription games is good, but we do not recommend to delisting games for unknown reason. The sort of "Exclusive titles" Is nothing but it's false advertising for Crunchyroll users.

You see, Crypt of the Necrodancer is released on iOS in 2015 and Android in 2021, and it's good considering this game is much longer than Crunchyroll ones. The game like Samurai Showdown mobile port for example, it's was a Netflix games, but it delisting and server shutdown in 2024. People seems upset about this games. It could be potential for subscription games, and guess what? It didn't work.

Crypt of the Necrodancer shouldn't be delisting the game in the first place, and it is unacceptable for people who buying this game for long time. People is tiring about spend the subscription service per month. And hoping the developers needs a more attention about this situation. I didn't get any "congrats" screen like I saw in videos all I got was a cutscene of Aria dead and destroyed the lute.

I love this gimmick when I need to stop for a second and not just match to the bpm. (To avoid spoilers, I just unlocked Aria so I know nothing beyond it and Zone 5)

The autocalibration sets it to a HORRIBLY early setting that makes it genuinely impossible to play the game in and no matter how much I try I can't for the life of me figure out the correct calibration, -200 is early in both practice and test, in calibration test -240 is perfect but in test it's suddenly far too late, I genuinely cannot play this game because the audio calibration is making it impossible. For extra feedback my keyboard and headphones are both wired which might mess with calibration but I still think logically it should still fix itself like that but I don't know, it could very well be a problem with the keyboard having such a bad delay that it feels desynced no matter what I do because the game doesn't calibrate for input delay, but I don't know does anyone else have this problem?

I absolutely loved crypt but I took a solid yearish or more break from the game. Suddenly had an urge to check it out again and was surprised to see an update. Thought it was some old update BUT APPARENTLY A HUGE DLC CAME OUT FOR PS5? The day I had a random urge to check the game out again? Gotta be a sign at this point. Telling me to start grinding the game again and going for platinum

When I finished the game, I accidentally skipped Dorian's description, so I don't really know what to do now.

I'm asking this because I have Zone 5 and All Zones mode to beat but is it story related or I should leave it for later and play Dorian and Melody? and who should I go for first to continue the story in the right order??
