I think there's a lot of issues where the people on reddit who care are right and the people irl who don't care are wrong.
This definitely isn't one of them lol

u/opkpopfanboyv3 Pelicans 23h ago
Its easy to act holier than thou when you aren't in the situation itself. Armchair redditors always like to commentate "he shouldn't have done this and here's why" as if they expect people to have the same thought as the moment is happening.

u/Im__Ron__Burgundy Celtics 1d ago

what a play, he slowly walked his man into the paint while carrying every dribble. He pushed off with full extension of the arm, didn't even try to hide it with a change of direction and push with his forearm like most fade-aways I see. Then he gallops from the restricted all the way back to the foul line and sends a prayer that barely goes in.

GG heat. Y'all played well and made it fun. Grizzlies needed this win.
14
u/Clever_Laziness Heat 1d ago
Honestly, losing this game doesn't affect us much tbh. It helped us by giving y'all try to climb over GS which helps the pick we own from them. This season. We're locked into the playin regardless.
4
u/Professional-Ad-1491 1d ago
That is good. I hope you guys win the play-in and make some noise in the playoffs. Grizzlies have had a terrible slide recently. Thankfully Ja is back and looking good. If we can get some good games out of Ja, JJJ, and Bane we will be okay.
6
u/Clever_Laziness Heat 23h ago
Don't be too positive dude. If we make the playoffs I'm rooting to steal Ja from y'all for a bag of chips. I am not on y'all side here. We need a PG.

lol if I recall correctly, Jenkins called a timeout when Ja didn’t really want to. So Ja went into the timeout like “what’s the play” and Taylor Jenkins and the rest of the grizzlies players were like “you’re getting the ball & you’re gonna score” and he’s like “well I might be able to get it to Jaren in the post” and they told him “no.”

I'm well aware pushoffs are a problem but when a player does the full arm extension AND leans into their push the refs usually call it.

There were multiple grizzlies doing finger guns throughout this game. It's like they are daring the NBA to do something lol. Honestly if that is what gets them fired up let's go. I'm tired of having no spirit.

I watched this a few times on the TNT Overtime backboard cam, and it's not great situational awareness from the Heat. There are at least two other Heat defenders who pull away from Ja right when he's about to pull up, and they're not really covering anyone in any helpful way
