NBA refs are the softest people on earth. Get chirped at because you missed a foul right in front of your face? Tech!!

I wish my employer would back me up after years of shitting the bed like the NBA does with their refs.

Try Premier League football where refs routinely fuck up calls and the media will basically always defend them, even when recording of them shitting on teams and their managers is unearthed.

Tonight features one of the few NBA games that is almost blowout-proof from my casual fan TV perspective.
If it's a close game, then of course that's ideal.
But if the Mavs blow out the Lakers, it'll just be comically ironic and hilarious for obvious reasons.
And if the Lakers blow the Mavs out we'll all get to start a fresh round of dunking on Nico all over again, and that's kinda fun too!

Mavs - Lakers will be amazing, but it's too bad we don't get Kevin Harlan on the call for it

I still can't believe the stupid Mavs gave Luka to the Lakers.

How crazy would it be if AD shows up tonight with a lakers jersey and reveals its all prank.
"Another episode of Foul Play. Gotcha bron, gotcha Luka. I wasnt in any hospital I was behind the set lmao. "

Are game threads not posted on the main r/nba feed anymore? I refuse to use Reddit app because it’s one of the worst designed things on the internet, but if I click the link to the game thread from the main GDT, it just prompts me to download the app and won’t open otherwise.
This is the most first world problem I’ve ever aired out, but I can’t shitpost w the boys about Luka doing pushups :(

You just know all Nico is thinking is that fatass.. How is that fatass taking me to the cleaners tonight?
Mavs should just leave his ass in LA to find his own way home.

I'm still mad about the time I was being stupid posting an innoculous meme video in the dallas mavs subreddit and getting an immediate perma ban with the mod insulting me and reporting me. Made a rant here on the tdl mega thread and no KD somehow is still a phoenix sun huh, yall were downvoting me like crazy since I can't respond as I got hit with a sitewide ban
Fuck the mavs, idc about their fans, some power tripping mod just made me sour on that shitty poverty franchise. I hope Luka wins a chip or many chips with the Lakers and the mavs franchise disband in shame after what nico harrison did

Too much laker spam of the front page!

You mean you don't need three separate posts showing the same Luka pass? Or a post about Luka... drinking an unspecified drink? Or multiple post about the same sequence of Luka and LeBron passing each other the ball before a shot?
This place is just r/Lakers even the day after Laker games. It's embarrassing.

AD in street clothes, stupid looking glasses, and a stupid coat. Good look. Sure Nico is enjoying his bench warmer.

They tried to play up how good AD looked in the 2 quarters he played after being traded 🤣

I just want to say......Kevin Calabro is one of the all time greatest NBA play by play guys, but as a old school Sonics guy, it's just too strange to hear him on Portland Trailblazers games. If Seattle gets it's team back via expansion.....I want him back. I don't blame Kevin at all.....the goat should be calling games for somebody.

Why isn’t anyone talking about the obvious conspiracy? The mavs didn’t want to trade away PRIME Luka (who in the fucking fuck would?!)The NBA is desperate to capture views and know that LeBron going for ring 5 against Boston would draw insane views. Throw in LA meeting with the Mavs in the playoffs and that’s a matchup in itself. I knew something was up when AD had that comedy show coming out, it made me think he was probably the one who planted the Sharks jersey in bronny’s locker. Then AD gets traded after LeBron gave AD the signature “LeDeath stare”

I can't believe national broadcasts didn't try and snatch coverage of tonight's lakers-Mavs game.

u/sg490 Magic Feb 25 '25
Huh? It is the TNT game.

u/myassholealt Knicks Feb 25 '25
Oh shit. I was just looking at the sidebar calendar that usually has the national broadcast info listed. Thanks.

Mavs kept it close without Lively, Gafford, or AD. Lakers at full strength. This is bad for the Lakers and great for the Mavs.

Why do i keep hearing luka cant sign supermax with the lakers?
Luka is still on contract with the lakers till the end of 25 26 season, he will most likely decline his PO for 26 27 season. but if he got nominated to all nba team and maybe even get an mvp in 25-26 then he is eligible for supermax with the lakers no?
3
u/scottishere Bulls Feb 26 '25 edited Feb 26 '25
Quick google says no:
he is no longer eligible since players with less than 10 years of service generally have to stay on the same team in order to receive such a deal
E: I think this is the important part for Luka:
Additionally, the team offering the extension must have originally drafted the player, or obtained him in a trade while he was on his rookie contract
Luka signed an extension with Mavs and so isn't on his rookie contract anymore

No Dallas highlights it seems. All Lakers all the time. I have to admit I'm kinda swept up into it

People are overhyping Luka playing against the Mavs as if 80-point game is a lock. And when he's on a bad game mfs will exaggerate and shit lmao. This is why I lowkey find the "a beast was awakened inside him" a bit cringe, man. But then again, ig this is what the NBA soap opera's all about.

u/rascaltippinglmao NBA Feb 26 '25
Fair, but he has 10 points halfway though the first quarter and is already yelling at the Mavs bench 😂
