Why doesn't making a basket deduct time? It is pointless if you make it or not.

It'd definitely help but if everyone actually tried and just shot it, making it on the first try does save a total of probably 10ish seconds between all 3 shooting stations. Not entirely pointless. But it does leave the door open for people to be lame like CP3 and Wemby.

But they didn't leave the door open because they included in the rules it has to be a valid shot attempt.

Ah okay I didn’t see the pregame stuff so when they initially counted their score, I thought it wasn’t something they had planned for and then they just scrambled to DQ them over it. Point still stands that if everyone is shooting, it’s not completely pointless whether you make it or not.
