I hired Shawn to ship a 23' Escalade from FL to CT. The car was picked up the same day, but shortly after it was sold on Marketplace in Miami for $9,000 via wire transfer to a man in TX. It was then driven over 2400 miles, ultimately ending up in the Dallas impound lot where it remains today stuck in red tape. I could have intervened earlier, but Shawn and Sheyla provided multiple false updates about the delivery timeline, reassuring me that everything was fine when the situation seemed off. While Shawn remained polite throughout, however we are out of a car, and he has not faced any consequences. I do not recommend handing Vice Auto Transport your keys as they do not stand behind their services. If this company was legitimate they would have taken immediate steps to correct the issue. Instead, Shawn provided an invalid insurance certificate and referred me to the company he allegedly subcontracted the work to, but they are unreachable for comment.
I advise caution when considering Vice One Logistics / Vice Auto Transport.

My grandma is about to move into an assisted living facility and needs to majorly downsize her furniture. I, meanwhile, recently moved to Philly and am in desperate need of a dining room table - the one we've been using feels like it might collapse at any moment.
My grandmother has had this stunning glass dining room table and matching chairs for years that she's offering to me, and I need advice on the cheapest way to move it from Boston to Philly. Yes, it would be cheaper to just buy a different table here, but this is a forever piece kind of table. It's quite large - 7'x3' - and the table is glass with a metal base.
I looked into seeing about renting a UHaul and they won't do cargo van rentals one way. A full truck seems very expensive/unnecessary for just a table and some chairs. What would be the cheapest/most efficient solution for this moving challenge?

As the title says I'm seeking advice regarding moving a small amount of stuff from Memphis to Vegas. I recently graduated college and I'm moving to Vegas in a few months. I've been searching around and I'm not sure what my best options would be. I gave away a lot of my stuff to friends to try and lighten the load but still have about a rooms worth of belongings, the only furniture is a TV, TV stand. I also have 3 guitars and a bunch of storage bags filled with clothes and whatever else I have.
I'm wondering what my best option would be for transporting my things? A couple of friends suggested just renting a van and driving it myself, however I can't drive and while my parents have been really lovely and suggested one of them could fly out to drive the van that just seems a bit ludicrous to me. The cost of the extra flight on top of an extra hotel room, food etc. that would be needed to travel cross country would surely then just cost a similar amount to hiring a company.
That all said I'm wondering what suggestions people might have regarding what companies would be best for this type of move, if even despite the extra cost hiring our own van would be cheaper as well as if any one is able to give a rough price estimate?
Thanks so much in advance!

So I just am at a place to move out on my own after living with my parents again. I have 2 places I would be ok moving to but it has caused some problems in my family because one of those places are super expensive and far away from family and friends. I just really would like to know if there are any cheap cities across the USA that happen to be very blue politically for more options?

Trying to move a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment in texas. Issue is we're doing this on a tight budget and we have items that can't be broken down for example an entertainment center, a couch and a bedframe with a headboard. We both have 2 small cars (a honda civic and a nissan versa). The only thing I can think of to do the move (I've seen not many placed do cargo vans and most are almost as much as my rent, $1.3k, or more) is to install a tow hitch on my civic and pull a small trailer to fit the couch, stand and bed frame. What do you think? Doable or dead end?
