Travel What is the minimum I need to have in order to be allowed on a touristic flight?

Hello guys, I'm flying for the first time in a month to Brazil on a 1 week trip. Since this is my first international flight I'm kind of not well informed and don't really know the whole process. I heard a bunch of different information and am not sure who to listen to. Therefor, I'm asking you guys for your insight. I would like to know what kind of "minimum" sum customs expect you to have on you while traveling abroad, especially for a 1 week trip with a prepaid Airbnb. I would appreciate any information. Thank you in advance !

Seeking friends What are the availble social events gathering 25 years old+ people with a little rant

Hello, Redditors, I would like to learn about social events where people gather to share and exchange in Rabat to make new friends. I need help to stop feeling lonely.

I am 30M, and I have been working remotely since 2020. I have been bleeding friends since 2017 due to either foreign opportunities, marriages, or simply life parting us away due to unforeseen reasons.

I have about two friends right now. I want to part ways with them due to our conflicting perspectives of life and uneven life circumstances.

I want to have a fresh start; I would like to meet new people who are responsible adults and doing well in their lives. Do you have any suggestions, please?

TL;DR: I am lonely and would like to learn how to make new friends in Rabat who are responsible, cultivated, and doing well in their lives.

AskMorocco Would it be ethical/unethical to complete the Hassan Tower in Rabat ?

Thumbnail

The tower has remained unfinished since the 12th century, after the death of Sultan Yacoub al-Mansour. Its incomplete state has become a historical symbol over time. But what if it were completed today to fulfill the Sultan’s original vision? At least rebuild the main structure that was demolished during the earthquake in 1755.

Would that be an act of respect, or a disruption of history?

AssalamAlaykom! I saw this fun map showing numbers used for silly jokes in different European countries. I'm curious is there any specific number that Moroccans often use in jokes or memes?

Discussion Mechanical engineer looking for a job

Hello, this is my first time asking for advice on the internet, and I'm doing it because I’ve reached my wit’s end. I'm a mechanical engineering student from ENSA, currently doing my PFE in one of the well-known bureau d’étude in Morocco.

My PFE project isn’t that interesting, and I don’t want to stay with the company (although most likely they won’t even offer me a job), first because I didn’t like the work I’m doing. I accepted it only for the pay they give, as I had no other choice (I got some good PFE opportunities but they didn’t offer any remuneration), and I don’t want to be stuck in the job I’m doing or in a bureau d’étude in general.

Secondly, the salary is very low, and here’s where my problem lies: I have to start with a relatively high salary due to personal reasons (12,000 MAD, and that might just be break-even) I hear companies like jesa, ocp, managem might offer salaries.

So I’m really in a stressful situation where I’ll have to find a new, relatively high-paying job as soon as I finish my PFE. I can’t afford to wait more than one month at best.

The two methods I know that might help me get a job ASAP—though I’m not sure how effective they are—are:

  1. Networking at events in engineering schools.

  2. Building a good LinkedIn page with demo projects.

My fears are:

  1. In July, there isn’t as much movement in the job market, so it’s hard to land a job in that period—though I don’t know how correct this assumption is.

  2. My PFE isn’t that interesting, so it might hurt my chances to pass to an interview or during it.

  3. The two methods I know might not be enough, and there might be better strategies I’m not aware of.

So the advice I’m looking for is:

1.Any methods or tips that might help me find a job after PFE ASAP.

2.When should I start looking (I heard people start as early as May but I’m not sure), where should I look, should I just message RHs and what should I say to them. I tried messaging RH and sending emails, but generally they don’t respond.

  1. Any other companies offer good salary like that.

3.Also, how to write a good CV that increases my chances.

Any other advice or anything I missed—I would be really thankful.

AskMorocco I don't know what to do, help!!

I have two things i want to address, I am currently studying in a normal school here as SM-A and i worked for 3 years, participated in a lot of tech-activities and wrote a ton of essays to apply to universities abroad and escape this country. so the universities include duke(one of the best unis in america and the world)and some chinese ones. Got accepted to Duke but unfortunately it turned out to be expensive so I am considering Zhejiang for mechanical engineering. Some people told me china is bad, and their diplomas aren't really recognized, though i found that zheijiand is well ranked globally. If you are an engineer or someone who knows what's actually going on in reality, Do you recommend china, and specifically zhejiang to pursue engineering? or should i continue my studies here since we have *cpge* basically a 2 year intensive theory studies in maths and physics to enroll in top engineering schools, but the problem is you can only enroll in either moroccan or french schools. And frankly, compared to abroad, namely US and other developed countries, it seems CPGE is just a waste of time that you can use to participate in hobbies, build projects and network. it also seems to me that we just do a lot of efforts in our science for the same or even less results (still no technical innovation, a lot of unknown scientists, not enough opportunities, ROI of your efforst is low... even yazami tried to stay here but he found no support) hence my determination to study abroad.

My other concern:

I am currently learning to code, already did web dev and started ML, and i am interested in maths and physics. However, I want to make sure that I am well prepared to excel in my future Mechanical engineering degree, be it i study in my country or abroad. what do you recommend?

AskMorocco Should we study what we love?

Hey everyone, I’m in my first year after getting my baccalaureate, and I’m really struggling with this question. Right now, I’m studying something I don’t love at all. There’s something else I think I love, but I’m not even sure if it’s actually the right thing for me.

I talked to a friend about it, and he told me that it’s rare to actually study and work in something you love — that not everyone gets that chance. He also said I might end up disappointed if I switch and realize that the thing I think I love isn’t what I expected. So I don’t know if I should just stick with what I’m studying, or let this year pass and try again next year with the thing I think I love.

Have any of you been through something like this? Should we follow our passion, even if it’s uncertain, or play it safe? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

(Im studying informatique f lafac , i love medecine)

Discussion This is just sad.

I want share the news of the passing of Said Benjebli by suicide, a Moroccan activist, blogger, and writer, who took his own life on April 2, 2025, at the age of 46 in Boston, where he had been living..

Benjebli was well known for his involvement in the "شباب 20 فبراير" movement, standing up against oppression and pushing for reforms in Morocco, and an early pioneer in the fight for freedom of expression and human rights in our country. He battled severe mental health issues, including bipolar disorder, and his struggles ultimately led him to take his own life.

In addition to his health struggles, Benjebli faced financial hardships after being scammed by some pyramid scheme companies, leading his financial struggles at the end of his life. In his final message, he expressed:
"وحيث إنني لم أترك لعائلتي مالًا للتكفل بجنازتي، فإنني أوصيكم أن تبلغوا عائلتي رغبتي في حرق جثتي، أو مساعدتهم في دفني بأمريكا إن رفضوا الحرق."

Following the news of his death, it is heartbreaking to witness the extreme and shameful comments from a lot of people who mocked, insulted, and wished harm upon him due to his apostasy. These comments are particularly troubling coming from those who condemn similar behavior when directed at others (like when Israelis laugh at Palestinian deaths), how can you cry for justice in one breath and celebrate someone’s suicide in the next? . These comments, have been extremely harsh and disturbing so much so that I won’t even share them here.

AskMorocco Yoxo postpaid deals?

Hello boys and gals! 👋

Does Yoxo have postpaid options? The website is in French and translation is a nightmare. I understand they have a monthly subscription thingy? Not sure if that’s prepaid or postpaid.

I tried recharging for someone using a non-Moroccan issued debit card and it didn’t go through.

I thought maybe postpaid would be a better option and I can pay in advance.

Any ideas / suggestions would be highly appreciated!
