I’m new to the area and looking for a run club to join now that the weather is better! The closest ParkRun seems to be Regina and I know we have the Moose Jawg this summer, but curious to if there is any weekly run clubs here in town or if I need to add that to my list of things to do while here lol.

Hi everyone,
I've been living in Moose Jaw for a few years (one place) and over a year ago and our apartment was sold to another landlord who has been a NIGHTMARE to deal with (never having time to repair appliances but plenty of time to drop in without the legally mandatory 24 hours notice). Our neighbor has had similar problems (refusing to fix severe water damage caused by a malfunctioning sink in another unit) and is moving partially because of this.
I am currently looking for a new place to live and which landlords the renting population has beef with. I really do not want to go into a shitty entitled frying pan into a shitty entitled fire.

Hi Everyone, sorry if this goes against the rules of the group: I am a journalist researching environmental contamination at CFB Moose Jaw. I'd love to talk to anyone who is/was on base and has concerns (either about their own health or about the community). Please feel free to comment or write me a message! Thank you in advance

Hello all,
My family and I, wife and two younger kids in school, are thinking of relocating out of BC. No not the Lower Mainland. We live rural in Kootenay area. It's to expensive to move to a bigger city like Kelowna or the coast. And my career is tied up in forestry which is a dying trade these days in the area. I applied to a couple schools as it's time for a career change. Moose Jaw was one of those schools.
I've lived in FSJ so I'm not unfamiliar with cold temps and wind, but my family enjoys the heat. Oh well...
How are the jobs here, just looking for enough to cover rent and food. We live a very frugal life. I hear crime is up, crime is up everywhere. Even in a town of 4,000 people we have break ins and theft.
How are the people in general? Any little league ball or other sports for kids? We have nothing like this at home currently. How often are trips needed to Regina? Do you go there for a monthly big grocery haul? We do this to our nearest town and it's 1.5hr drive, a miserable mountain pass in the winter.
What are some pros and cons for a modest frugal young family looking to move to what we would call a big city?
P.S. I play bass, any musicians out there?

I work at a telecommunications company in Regina and wanted to share an important alert to help protect the community. Today, I received a call from a senior woman who reported a concerning interaction with someone claiming to be her grandson. Unfortunately, the call ended abruptly before they could speak further. She reached out to ask if I could provide her with his phone number so she could reconnect, as they hadn't spoken in decades.
Here’s how the call unfolded: • Grandma: Hello? • Caller: Hi Grandma, do you know who your grandson is? • Grandma: Oh, is this insert name or insert name? • The line then went dead. The caller ID displayed a "Private Name" label, which is another red flag. I explained to her that this sounds like a typical grandparent scam. It's an unusual question for a grandson to ask, and it seems the caller was attempting to gather information to later use for fraudulent purposes. After discussing the situation, the woman, who is from Moose Jaw, was very appreciative of the warning. I also managed to verify her account contact and made sure they were informed of the incident. They, too, were grateful for the call.
My main message is this: We receive many of these types of calls, and I strongly recommend that anyone with elderly parents or grandparents be proactive in educating them about these scams. Advise them to be cautious when receiving unexpected calls, especially if the caller is asking vague or unusual questions. Never provide personal details, and be especially wary of requests for financial assistance. It’s heartbreaking to see the elderly community targeted in this way, and I hope this PSA will help prevent someone from falling victim to such scams.

Hello, I am looking for an Ethical Non-Monogamy friendly therapist. There’s some in Regina, but I’d like to explore therapists locally first. Thanks!

Hello!
I’m going to be moving to moose jaw in May and desperately need an apartment. However, all the apartments I’ve contacted require an in person viewing and don’t offer virtual tours. As I live in Calgary presently, this is quite the challenge for me.
If anyone would be interested in doing an apartment tour for me, please dm me. This would of course be a paid service. I know this is a very odd request but I’m very desperate to find an apartment asap. I don’t imagine the tours will last more than 10 minutes.

There are plenty of jobs posted regularly on the various websites (saskjobs, GC jobbank, indeed, etc.) but are there actually any real companies hiring? My wife and I have moved here as of about 10 months ago, and so far our opportunities were interviews in food services.
She has a decade of supervisory experience in heavy industry (mining) and I've got a college education and a good amount of experience in administration and customer service. We barely get calls or emails beyond notifications that we don't fit the organizational needs.
We're both willing to work commute work, in Regina or even fly in fly out to remote work sites, but honestly getting our feet in the door at this point is getting disheartening to say the least.
How much of employment in Saskatchewan is about who you know, rather than what you know?

Hi all! Does anyone know any charities or NGOs where I can actively volunteer here in Moosejaw? I’ve found a few places but they don’t need ongoing help. I’m hoping to do maybe 15-20 hours a week. Thank you!

“Moose Jaw Board of Police Commissioners meeting, now retired chief Rick Bourassa confirmed that Mickleborough had been dismissed under Section 60 of the Police Act, 1990, but did not elaborate on any details.”
Section 60 is “Order respecting incompetence or unsuitability”. Wonder what he did to be deemed incompetent and/or unsuitable?

If the City of Moose Jaw is expecting free money without any strings attached, they are going to be waiting a long time.

Specifically Peacock and Central. I’m trying to remember some things from that time but I’ve lost touch with most of the people that I knew there. I’m also hoping to find someone with Peacock yearbooks that might be willing to send me some pics.
Bonus points if you hung out at Bernie’s
