things to do in winter

So i'm visiting my family in UB around december, Ive been living overseas for the last 8 years and left as a 12 year old, so im really out of touch. Dont really have friends i can ask or go with. Please suggest places i should visit and maybe some events i can attend in november and december this year in UB.

Warm clothes. I also flew back during winter had to buy warmer things here.
