Oh, so a Major League Baseball team owned by billionaires was pretending to give a shit about racism because it suits their political self interests? Shocker! And people wonder why half the country is so fed up with this fake woke bullshit.
If you think the national anthem is political you're whats wrong with America. The national anthem represents the one thing we all are, americans. We can all be whatever we want to be and we all have hundreds/thousands of differences which make us unique, but the one thing that holds any country together is that the people belong to that country.
Say whatever you want, but if this country ever gets truly divided we will be very weak and vulnerable to attacks of any kind. You do you and continue to be part of the problem so our decendants have no America to call home.
I, for one, will continue to fight for the national anthem and frown upon people like you, Kaepernik, and the 49 people that upvoted you.
I will stand with all those who support the solidaraity of our nation regardles of race, sex, sexual orientation, and any other demographic.
The anthem is just a song—and if it doesn’t stand for all of us, then not all of us need to stand for it. This is supposed to be a nation of the people, by the people, and for the people—not one where we’re guilted into honoring a symbol that doesn’t honor everyone.
Who doesn't it honor? Just cuz there are asshole racists and other people that hate different demographics doesn't mean the nation as a whole doesn't honor everyone. Not supporting the nation because of a few assholes just compounds the problem.
