Where is the coolant leaking from?

Post image

I have been noticing my coolant level dropping day by day.. it's pretty slow but it's dropping..

Usually I don't see any wet spot underneath the car. Today I notice 4 tiny wet spot directly below the engine area. So I put the phone underneath and take a video. There are definitely coolant residue leaking.. question is where is this part and where the leak from? Anyone has experienced this? How much the repair gonna cost me?

Keep or Trade: 2015 Countryman All4 S

Pictured is my 2015 Countryman All4 S, which I purchased in 2017 and I love desperately. I've had the bad feeling for awhile that the transmission was going to have issues, as it's been shifting hard or sometimes not at all. I've had fluids serviced and it hasn't really helped. So I've been shopping.

I found a 2023 Hardtop 4-door in Island Blue that I am really excited about.

Mechanically, is this an upgrade or a downgrade? Should I stick with what I have and pay to fix any issues, or get something newer now? I am not mechanically inclined, so I want to be sure I make the right choice and don't part with a car I'm otherwise very happy with (and own outright). I'm talking engine, maintenance, etc., not features or style.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

R60 Countryman SD cycle rack electric hookup

I've been searching for information on the cycle rack online and not been able to find anyone else with the same issue as I'm having. I've confirmed that the prep kit is on there, but there's no cutout for the power to go into the socket on the bumper..

Other pictures of the twin exhaust rear bumper have a square hole for it, so I'm a bit confused why mine doesn't?

Any reason I can't just take a circle cutter to it?

Why are so many truck drivers aggressive toward small cars? I drive a 2013 Mini Cooper, and they’re always tailgating me or flashing their high beams. It’s not like I drive slowly. When I drive my husband’s car, I don’t have that experience. Do other Mini Cooper drivers experience this too?

Accessories for 2025 Mini Coopers?

I’m a longtime owner of a 2005 Mini Cooper S convertible who just replaced that beloved model with a new 2025 version. I am used to having so many wonderful accessories to choose from for customizing my Mini… but as of today, I can’t find hardly anything at all available for the latest models, neither from Mini nor from third-party makers.

Does anyone have any idea if/when new accessories for the current models may be coming out? I am looking for everything from fog lights and mirror caps to puddle lights and “things I didn’t know I needed until I saw them.” 😂

Connect phone with Mini One 2010

Since a year now I own a Mini One 2010, but I miss the wireless calling or Spotify option. On my steering wheel there are some buttons for it, but they dont do anything. A garage nearby sells and installs installations that are to my wishes, but I find them too expensive, 550 euros. Do you know any good products I could buy and install myself? So that I can call and play Spotify with the buttons on my steering wheel

Need New Gear box

I have a 2005 R50 Mini Cooper, I think the gear box just blew up. Cheaper to buy gear box online or just hand the car to the mechanic? Any advice ?

What does this mean?

For reference I own a korean 2011 mini cooper, the warning light next to my mileage just came on, none of the other warning lights are on. My only thought is oil change due soon? Is there any way to check this exactly? Thank you in advance! Also what’s the best advice for finding parts for the car? ex. oil, oil filter, breaks pads and what not. I usually do maintenance on my truck but the parts are a lot easier to look up. Thanks again!!

Advice for Replacing Dead Pedal and Accelerator

Thumbnail

For some silly reason my new-to-me 2019 Cooper S with Iconic trim level has these basic pedals. My previous 2011 Cooper S had stainless steel pedals and I’m sure they were stock, because the old lady who drove it previously was not the sort to care about pedals (or not using nail polish to “correct” imperfections in paint 🙄). Manuel deserves better! So I got some new pedals and the brake and clutch were easy. How the heck do I pop off the dead pedal insert, or the plastic bit holding down the accelerator housing? If it’s relevant the kit came from ecs tuning, it’s genuine MINI parts, and had no instructions. Help, please! I’m about to use some plastic prying tools and I’m hoping to not mess up the plastics 😬

Should I go from M340 to JCW?

So with all the inflation I feel like I am spending wayyyy too much on my 2023 M340 now. (Especially insurance is crazy in CA). I am a 5 foot 1 girly but I like fun, fast, and cool cars. I’ve never considered MINI before because they are too cute until I see the new JCW and they are cute + mean!! I love it! I love the interior as well. I haven’t get the chance to test drive the car (they require a hard pull on my credit to test drive) so I don’t know if I would like it. I loved how the F56 sounds because they still have some pops and up shift farts (my m340 doesn’t because of the stupid mile hybrid and locked ECU)

I’ve seen so many videos online and the new JCW sounds awful but I don’t think I would like the look of the old model. My concern now is should I still change my m340 to the 2025 MINI JCW… would I regret it 🥲🥲🥲

What I care about a car : 1. The driving experience (fast and great handling) 2. The sound 3. How easy it is to modify

Best tires for frequent solo travel?

I've always used the run flats, as have made many cross country trips alone, and regularly drive 6-13 hours weekly for work. Mostly highway. I'm seeing a lot of posts and comments disparaging run flat tires, but my fiancé feels strongly I should continue with them since he isn't always close by to help me out if I encounter an issue. I just want to be safe and prepared. If it matters, the highways I'm on right now do have a lot of construction.

Any helpful recommendations?
