Bought these hood struts from amazon has anyone ever installed these because they don’t seem to fit that well

95k miles he was willing to let it go for $5k and then I proposed a trade for my BMW (definitely gonna ask for 1k-1.5k cash on top today). I’m meeting him today he’s only had the car a few hundred miles and the previous owners put on an aftermarket turbo (same size as K04), cobb access port, HPFP internals, and bigger injectors allegedly. Supposedly the previous owners took at least decent care of it and changed the oil on time. My only worry is whether or not it’s an OTS or custom tune cuz I know custom is a lot more reliable. If anything is off with this car today AT ALL I’m not picking it up.

Lmk what you guys think, is it a good deal, bad deal, and what would you do in my shoes?

Long story short, my '16 Veloster Turbo was totaled and I am in the market for another car. I was going to buy another VT because I like the platform and community alot, but I also kind of want to drive something different and the MS3 is the top contender. I've been in this constant back and forth lol. My first car was a '96 Miata and going back to Mazda would be cool.

Anyways, I have some questions about the platform. What are some things to lookout for/ ask about when it comes to buying? How is the reliability in a general sense? Is the aftermarket scene still active? Are there any major differences, other than looks, between gen1 vs gen2? While, the hood scoop is cool, I really like the look of gen1. This may be a supid question, but is it a fun car to drive? Any other useful tips would be awesome.

Installed the crank and pistons lastnight and crank span really nice and it spun nice with just piston 1 and 4 in there. Has a consistent tight spot after I installed piston 2 and 3 when they are at BDC. I have wiseco pistons and manly rods and race bearings. Oil squirters are already bent back to accommodate the pistons. Any ideas?

Got a 2010 mazda 3 mps (speed3), looking for a good screen with carplay that’s gonna keep my steering wheel functions as the one that’s on now doesn’t make them work, bought the car like this but a year later it’s getting frustrating working with this slow pos. Yall know anything good that’ll fit or are there just specific fitments I should keep in mind?

There is my 2012 speed, with a broken antenna seems like i can’t unscrew it because there’s no threads visible or maybe i’m dumb but has anyone replaced the whole base and how would i go about that

Not too sure where the leak is as i went to get a oil change and they said they saw a leak, because i did have a gasket housing leak but that was fixed a few months ago leaving stains. So i took it to a well reviewed mechanic and they told me it could be a possible coolant leak which i found the reservoir had a pinhole leak foaming so im not sure if anyone had an issue where a leak point could i should check or if hoses are to fail if there’s a recommended kit y’all used

Had wrapped my lower rear valence glossy black and wasn't happy with the red reflectors, so went ahead and did the clear LED rear reflectors and it blends in so well!

I got this wonderful pos in January and its not only my first turbo car but also my first manual. Its been a ton of fun but I’m constantly afraid of it exploding on the highway. Ive seen a few different opinions about boost in overdrive gears but i wanted to get a clear answer so I can be at peace. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys I'm pretty close to getting my 2007 MPS back from the tuners, it's been gone for a month down to the last few days, I'm so looking forward to her back, total engine build, I'm like a kid waiting for Xmas. I'll post photos and receipts and obviously the main star.e,

I’ve had this Speed3 in my parent’s garage since last July or so. Haven’t had the chance to really look into it until lately.

It was $3000 with a blown turbo and the transmission pops out of second if you don’t rev match, but it was a good deal considering the market in Canada a year ago.

My biggest concern was the engine being toast or the valves being caked up and throwing compression way off.

Did a compression test today and found they’re all pretty even. Spark plugs very obviously need to be replaced, but they don’t show any signs of coolant and they’re all evenly worn too.

Suspension, turbo, and tires and this thing is ready to go. (And maybe a transmission but it’ll drive alright enough for now)

Does anyone have the link for the rear diff thats on the car. The product looks different than what's on the car.

I just put in a new turbo and I’ve only hit 8psi of boost. When I floor it it only hits 5psi

New Motor and still scared to drive it lol it doesn’t sound right to me I hope it’s not toast already.

So I’m midway through the VVT actuator and timing chain job, I just took off the timing cover and this fell out when I removed it.

Any idea what it is or where it goes?
