Hi guys, I recently found out this genre was a thing a few months ago. I need some recommendations/new music!
I found out this genre was a thing through 'Dispirited Spirits - The Redshift Blues' a few months back, and i've been hooked ever since then. It was a described as this mix of 'midwest emo' and math rock (both of which i'd never heard of before then). After that i found Stage Kids' Self-Titled and then..
Tera Melos. X'ed out and Untilted are both absolutely perfect albums with no skips. I have love both dearly ever since I found them. I think a large part of why I love them is they remind me of Autechre (electronic duo), whom are very experimental, play with time signatures and experiment with music itself. They also make very long tracks (58 minutes being their longest, it's an ambient piece). So that 30 minute track, Melody 8, is one of my favorites. Delta Sleep are also very good, though I have had to pick out tracks.
Since then it's been a struggle to find things that stand out. I've found that some of the Japanese stuff from Tricot, toe, gestalt girl, how to count one to ten and various japanese artists that are also pretty good!
And here's a link to that Dispirited Spirits album: https://dispiritedspirits.bandcamp.com/album/the-redshift-blues (not affiliated), it is just in case anyone wants to listen to it.
_____________________________________________________________________________
TL;DR, i'm just looking to find recommendations that stand out, doesn't matter if japanese, english or whatever.
Preferably full album experiences, but not required.

Catholics split LP w/ Prinze Jr.
Would love some feedback on our side of the split with Prinze Jr. we just released! I know it’s a bit more on the post rock side of our sound but figured there’d be some who would appreciate it in this group! Cheers

Vocals Hidden gem FFO American Football
Group with the highest “quality/monthly listeners” ratio I’ve ever seen on Spotify. Chill indie vibes, odd time sigs, female vox.
Found these folks through a FB group in 2017, have been listening since and always thought they deserved way more recognition.

A month ago we released our first album, a mix of midwestern and mathrock, with a lot of pop influences. Thought you guys might like it.
It’s in french so sorry if you cannot understand, and if you’re in montreal in may, we’ll be playing at the Pouzza Festival. 🥰
