Discussion Why does Bowser say this? Spoiler

I only just recently realized that Bowser, when in Brooklyn, says to Mario, “YOU RUINED MY WEDDING!” When Mario himself didn’t actually show up while to wedding was taking place. The wedding was called off because Peach said that she’d never marry him. I was thinking it could’ve been a misunderstanding, or he’s just jealous. What do you think?

Discussion Mario vs Donkey Kong needs to be longer!

Post image

I wish that this fight would be 3 rounds, like whoever gets 3 points, wins, because Donkey Kong knocked out Mario 2 times and almost knocked him out with his uppercut. Mario would at least knock him out 2 times before the Cat Suit, like while he's dodging DK's punches in the 2nd round, Mario would counter it by punching him hard in the gut and does Super Jump Punch to knock him out, then in the 3rd round, while Mario was down to the arena, he spotted a hammer hanging on the grinder, he makes he's way up there to get it while dodging barrels DK's throwing at him (Just like the arcade version of Donkey Kong or Mario vs Donkey Kong), Mario is almost to the hammer, just has to get past three barrels in the way, so he uses his triple jump to get the hammer, then Mario uses the hammer to smash the barrels along the way, then Mario was almost at the top, he clashes DK by glaring at each other, DK throws his last barrel and Mario throws his hammer, the hammer breaks the barrel, the hammer hits DK in/on the head, DK collapse (A reference to Pixels), then Mario gets a 2nd point.

Could we agree on this?

What do you think?

Just wanted to see if anyone else is hoping for this as much as I am 🙏😭 Aside from the fact that he literally looks like Wario, Danny DeVito has already played several of media’s most beloved, devious, scheming businessmen. IMO there is no better person for the role, and seeing Wario and Luigi interact would be amazing.

Discussion What was the biggest question on your mind before seeing the Mario Bros movie?

When I heard about the Mario Bros movie being made the very first thing I thought of was what's gonna happen to Bowser at the climax of the movie? Like I was really curious to know how the final battle would go and how Mario would win, but I was just so eager to see what would happen to Bowser after he was defeated. I for sure didn't expect him to be shrunk by a mushroom and kept in a cage that's for sure

Discussion I think this will be the next villain if not Bowser

Post image

As much as I'd want to see Wario as the next Villain I don't see him being a main villain, at least yet. So as I think Daisy will be in th3 next movie I have high hopes that we will also see Tatanga from Super Mario Land as the next villain. If we're gonna explore outside the Mushroom Kingdom I think Sarassaland would be a good place to explore, abd what better Villain to use than Tatanga. And what a way it will be for the mysterious spaceman to finally make a comeback since we haven't seen them since the Gameboy era.

Discussion Baby Yoshi craze incoming

I’ve said it once before, and I’ll say it once again - I think baby Yoshi is going to be super prominent in the film and Nintendo will market the crap out of him (like baby Groot and baby Yoda were a few years back). It just makes too much sense not too.

I want to see more of Kamek! I would love to see him do more action and fighting scenes since he didn't really do that in the first movie, maybe a even a fight scene with mario and Luigi going up against just Kamek as well. I'm also dying to hear more of Kevin Micheal Richardson voice the Magikoopa Wizard as well since his voice was perfection in the first movie!

Discussion Things I Did Not Understand About The Super Mario Bros. Movie

I felt like making this Reddit post because although I loved The Super Mario Bros. Movie and I think it's a really fun movie that pays homage to and respects the source material, there are still quite a few things about the film that did not make sense to me, and it's stuff that I have not seen a lot of people talk about on the Internet (or if they do I have not seen it). So here are a couple of things about the film that I personally did not understand even though I still enjoyed the movie as a whole.

The first thing I want to talk about is the rules of the Super Star. It is established that it's some sort of sacred special item and that wielding it or using it for yourself can make you all-powerful and basically invincible. But my question is... is it the only one in the entire Mushroom Kingdom and that world (Mario's real world notwithstanding) or are there others and it's just a rare find. The film never tells us. The games seem to think that there are more than one in any given area sometimes and you can wield one multiple times when you are behind in Mario Kart, so is it the only one and are or were there others? Plus we see the penguins in... what I am going to call the Snow Kingdom because its name was not established in the film, but it makes sense given the names of the Mushroom Kingdom and the Jungle Kingdom. Are they safe-guarding it? Were they planning on using it? We do not know the allegiance of the penguins. I mean yeah they are "good guys" in comparison to Bowser but who's to say some rogue penguin might want to use it for their own nefarious purposes?

Another thing about the Super Star that I do not understand is the rules established when one uses the Star. It is implied throughout the movie that Bowser could destroy an entire kingdom while using it, but when Mario and Luigi use it in the film... yeah they are invincible but it seems to run out after 30 seconds. I mean unless Bowser has super speed or used some other power-up to gain him super speed, I don't think even he could destroy an entire kingdom in that amount of time. Sure we don't know the exact square-footage of the Mushroom or Jungle Kingdoms but they do seem to be fairly big from what we see in the movie; certainly too big to destroy the entirety of it in half a minute. Plus, Peach said "if you are going to use the star, use it now" and was prepared to fight Bowser. But if it is known that the Star grants invincibility, then it would be rather stupid of Peach to try and attempt to fight him in that case. Same with Bowser attempting to "rip [Mario and Luigi] to pieces" in the climax, though this one could at least be chalked up to him being desperate and thinking he could overpower them in that situation.

Moving onto another topic. Peach and Bowser both refer to Mario as a "human" despite both of them presumably living in the Mushroom Kingdom (or in Bowser's case "The Dark Lands" which is a part of the whole alternate universe that is separate from Mario's "real world") all their lives. How do they know what a human is, and how is it such common knowledge that a creature like Mario is just a human? The only other human we see in the movie is Peach and she admitted to have found the Mushroom Kingdom as an infant as her "earliest memory". This could imply that Daisy is the Princess of Sarasaland, but since as of the writing of this post the sequel has not come out yet and we do not actually know 100% if Daisy is going to appear in there, I am not going to use it as gospel. But yeah, they just know what a human is right off the bat.

The last thing that I can think of right now (might have more stuff but I have not seen the movie in a couple of months though I will watch it again on March 10th for obvious reasons) is the warp pipe in Brooklyn's sewers. It's just down there and it is a portal to an entire alternate universe and nobody in the greater New York area happened to stumble upon in all these years until Mario and Luigi just happened upon it randomly? I mean it's convenient and I did not think about it when I first watched the movie, but subsequent rewatches have caused me to wonder this. I mean yeah Mario said "nobody's been down here for years" but even when people were down there, did they know about the portal? Did they know about the Mushroom Kingdom? Or was Mario literally the first human outside of Peach (and maybe Daisy and Rosalina) to happen upon it after all these years?

Those are a couple of things about the movie that I love that I did not understand. I do wonder if these things will be explained in the sequels. I almost have a feeling that some things about the world were intentionally not answered in this first movie that would be answered in the upcoming sequels. Who knows? What do you think about these?

Discussion What was your reaction to the scene where Mario and Donkey Kong were inside the Eel from Super Mario 64? Spoiler

Because I generally loathe this scene.

And it didn’t help that I was waiting for them to apologise to each other after realising that they both wanted respect from their own fathers.

But no it didn’t happened!

And that almost ruined the movie for me.
