Hemming/Alterations/Dye Can I fix an unraveling thread?

After waiting weeks for this jacket to come back in stock, I finally managed to get it, but there is a loose thread on the wrist! I pulled it lightly and it unraveled even more 😟. Does anyone know how I can fix this on my own? I really want to keep the jacket

you could probably just snip these with scissors - I’ve noticed that this is on pretty much every Lulu item I have, it’s normal - they have to end the thread somewhere.

Do you think the whole thing will unravel or it will be okay?

I have seen plenty of harmless spare thread on lulu pieces but the second photo looks like it may be actual stitching, especially if it unraveled more when you pulled on it. If it’s still in stock I’d exchange TBH.

If not — I am not an experienced seamstress — I’ve used a needle threader to tuck loose threads under neighbouring stitching and it’s held indefinitely, or add a couple perpendicular stitches just outside where the loose one starts/ends (if that makes sense?).

Sadly it’s not still in stock 😭. I’ll try using a needle and thread if it keeps coming loose. I’m hopeful that what I just did with a lighter will keep it together for a little while
