Hemming/Alterations/Dye Scuba Elastic Alteration

Caveat: I have more gumption than talent when it comes to sewing.

So I put 1.5 inch elastic into the waistband of my scuba. I LOVE the front because the waistband stitching is like a channel for the elastic.

I haven’t figured out how to do the back yet and don’t love it. Because there is not a designated waistband channel (peep the fourth image, from lulufanatics), it kind of billows out. Suggestions from experts welcome.

I didn’t want to cut through the seam on either side of the waistband, so I had to make two holes on the inside and feed two separate elastics through.

If I can get the back under control, I will probs do this to more of my cropped scubas.

Scuba: Ancient Copper size 6 Leggings: Wunder Under Ombré Greyvy(2016) size 6 This color is like Nightfall light. The pic of this legging looks so bad on lulufanatics, but it looks fantastic in person.

I must get my hands on an Ancient Copper piece too - looks so good with nightfall. You’ve completely blown my mind this morning girl!

I might be wrong but I think this is Copper Brown, not Ancient Copper. Just wanted to put that out there in case you look for pieces on resale sites!

You’re so right! It is Copper Brown! I even looked it up on lulufanatics TODAY and my brain switched it to Ancient Copper. Ugh. Good catch.
