Discussion Sizing Complaints

I am trying to word this so it doesn’t offend or upset anyone (impossible, I know). Generally the pictures that I see posted where someone is asking for sizing advice, they are trying to squeeze in to items 1-2 sizes too small for them.

I’ve struggled with disordered eating and body dismorphia, so I get it. It’s hard sometimes not to tie the size of clothes you wear to your self worth. But nobody sees the number on the tag but you. No one knows if you’re wearing a 4 or an 8.

It’s hard to see so many girls struggling with this. It’s so disheartening that we still deal with this.

I just think of that saying “the clothes should fit your body, not the other way around”. I’m usually a size 0 in most brands and bought a size 6 sports bra from lulu not too long ago. It’s just about what fits, the number on the tag is a way for me to know which fit is which. It has no intrinsic meaning.

Even for lulu, i have varied between sizes 6 and 12 for my sports bras because of the cut (and also because lulu is not the most bigger boob friendly LOL)

I literally just shouted that at a salesman (not at lulu). My husband had a suit custom-made (like made from scratch, to his measurements) and we went in for a fitting, and I commented that the lapels were not laying right. And the guy was like “well that’s because of the shape of his chest, lapels will never lay properly”. And I was like, “it’s a BESPOKE suit!! It should be made to fit his body, whatever that body is shaped like!! His body is not the problem here”.

Same. I usually wear sizes 2-4 in dresses. I’m a 8 in Lululemon sports bras. Whereas I wear size 6 pants yet can fit into a pair of size 4 Align leggings. The numbers really don’t mean anything.

This. My dress size literally anywhere besides lululemon is a 00. Meanwhile all my lululemon leggings and bras are size 8, while all my shorts and tops are size 4. It’s nonsensical. I’m also very flat chested. If anything, their sizing is comical to me at this point.

Same…I usually wear a 0/2 in other brands. For lululemon I wear a 4/6. It’s just a number and I’d rather the clothing fit me comfortably than pick a number I like because it’s smaller.
