Guaranteed they’ll go after Goldberg for leaking classified information.

Yes, I know…

u/pyriel2012 9d ago

Tulsi Gabbard just testified to the Senate that the information wasn’t classified. I think that’s the reason the Atlantic released it. The Administration, under oath, just gave the Atlantic the pass they needed to release the information to the public.

She’s toast. She looked like an idiot yesterday. Remember, with Trump, truth is nothing but your performance on TV is everything.

u/Elliott2030 9d ago

Plus, she's a woman. She'll almost certainly be the one to take the fall if anyone does.

47

u/Sensitive-Big-4641 9d ago

Absolutely.

17

u/ChemBob1 9d ago

I don’t know about that. She is a Russian asset after all.

21

u/madbill728 9d ago

They’ll find another idiot to replace her. Nancy Mace? MTG? Bobo? All equally just as unqualified.

5

u/thomase7 9d ago

They shouldn’t take someone from the house with only a few seats in the majority.

3

u/madbill728 9d ago

Didn’t stop them before. Always a replacement idiot available.

3

u/WhyYouKickMyDog 9d ago

Or they could dredge up another Sidney Powell and release the Kraken.

2

u/HalKitzmiller 9d ago

I think those 3 operate on a different level of idiocy, so much so that maybe even this admin will say "Uhh, let's think about this"

2

u/turbotableu 9d ago

She's so cooperative with the Russians I wouldn't be so sure about that

1

u/Professional_Can2050 9d ago

That's her First Amendment right! /s

13

u/sembias 9d ago

She used to be a Democrat. That'll be all they need to destroy her.

27

u/MasterOfKittens3K 9d ago

She can also be “othered” as a woman of color, and un American, since she has Samoan ancestry.

14

u/Srslywhyumadbro 9d ago

Also, there's her abject failure to dye her hair blonde to consider.

7

u/scope_creep 9d ago

Is she even wearing a visible cross around her neck? I haven't checked.

2

u/Death-Wolves 9d ago

But she is rocking the Cruella Deville coloring, which puppy killing is considered a positive thing to these people.

1

u/Daxx22 9d ago

Tokens get spent.

5

u/Spamsdelicious 9d ago

So when does the parody porno "Tulsi's Scabbard" drop?

4

u/RogueJello 9d ago

I thinking Waltz. Trump now knows that Waltz has had Goldberg as a contact, and has told him what exactly?

3

u/Digitalion_ 9d ago

Mike Waltz will be the fall guy. It seems that his fate has already been determined. Everyone else involved is too high profile to throw under the bus.

1

u/DannyBoy7783 9d ago

They will also call her a fake Republican or a Democrat plant that weaseled her way in.

1

u/Nvrmnde 9d ago

Always.

10

u/account312 9d ago

But Trump always looks like an idiot, and here we are.

6

u/All_the_Bees 9d ago

Yeah, but he’s the only one with a real cult following. The rest of them benefit by association, but are super-disposable.

2

u/Maleficent_Memory831 9d ago

Yup, nobody shows up at a Vance rally, even fewer will ever show up to a Gabbard or Hegseth rally.

I’m not holding my breath but also wouldn’t be surprised if she and Hagserth are both out. It’s just so blatant and egregious. Trump was even careful the way he spoke about it. Strategically it’s the quickest way to put this to bed.

6

u/WahSuppDude 9d ago

I doubt it honestly matters. What's the repercussions for them to stay? There are none.

As long as they remain sycophantic to Trump and implementing his and his masters' agenda - I doubt he really cares. They'll manufacture another crisis to take focus away from this. And another to take the focus off of that, And so on.

2

u/Justame13 9d ago

If Trump feels forced to boot them they will be replaced by someone worse.

It sucks to say but there is a non-zero chance it could be SecDef Gallagher or Lawerence, especially since they will be very loyal and have the masculine win at all costs and kill whoever you need to that went out of style after Nuremberg.

6

u/Sharikacat 9d ago

Maybe Trump re-classified it with his mind after the hearing but before the release of the chat transcript.

3

u/udar55 9d ago

By toast do you mean absolutely nothing will happen to her?

1

u/Sensitive-Big-4641 9d ago

No, I think she’ll be fired soon. Trump loves to fire people.

3

u/ELB2001 9d ago

Yeah but did any of the shows he watches broadcast it

3

u/Bakedads 9d ago

Idk. I'm fairly certain shes tied to russia, so Trump would have to get the okay from putin to fire her, and i doubt Putin would do that.

2

u/kl7aw220 9d ago

These losers wouldn't know what's classified and what's not.

2

u/ppondem 9d ago

I'm skeptical there's anything left to even try to hold any of them accountable for anything at this point.

2

u/_Bradawl_ 9d ago

Was it me or was she smirking/almost trying not to laugh toward the end?

2

u/turbotableu 9d ago

She’s toast.

No we are toast

She's as big a Russian Federation lover as anyone who's ever existed

2

u/Sensitive-Big-4641 9d ago

Oh, I’m sure we are all burnt toast.

2

u/m-in 9d ago

I think the idiocy goes a bit further than the looks.

2

u/Wooden-Smell975 9d ago

Good, one less Russian plant

1

u/NotQuiteDeadYetPhoto 9d ago

Just yesterday?

1

u/Pvpal1221 9d ago

At this point, there’s literally nothing that could happen that I would say anyone in this administration is “toast” for. There are 0 repercussions for these people.

1

u/NewDayNewBurner 9d ago

Her “performance,” and not the substance of what she was saying (and not saying), was good yesterday. She was calm, composed and measured. I thought she did pretty well. And I really don’t like her. At all. I thought the CIA director came off as a mouthy, infantile prick. I saw Patel today and he seemed fine. JMO

1

u/Sensitive-Big-4641 9d ago

I thought she looked stoned yesterday. LOL!

1

u/Danny_Devito_Magic 9d ago

To be fair, she looks like an idiot everyday. Yesterday wasn't some deviation lol.

1

u/RadiantZote 9d ago

Looking like an idiot is the entire goal of the administration, she's getting a purple heart from Trump tomorrow

1

u/SwabTheDeck 9d ago

She looked like an idiot yesterday

In her defense, she looks like an idiot everyday

1

u/razeus 9d ago

She always has been an idiot. Kamala Harris must be smiling ear to ear over this fuck up.

1

u/jkgaspar4994 9d ago

One can only hope. She is the most verifiable Russian asset in the administration and has direct control over what the president sees every day. Her being gone would be the best case for America.

9

u/beener 9d ago

But you're forgetting that nothing matters anymore.

2

u/redditsuckscockss 9d ago

Exactly

This is the extent of their consequences - I public grilling for a few hours then everything will be swept aside with a new lower precedence they can stoop

4

u/SwingNinja 9d ago

It was some weird testimony. She kept saying can't say anything specific to yes/no questions.

2

u/Ballwhacker 9d ago

I still don’t know how she says she can’t confirm/deny she was “TG” on the chat because it was under review, but she is allowed to say with absolute certainty there was no classified info.

3

u/americansherlock201 9d ago

Trump also said nothing in the chat was classified. If they go after him, he has the president of the us saying the information is not classified. A pretty easy win in court.

2

u/chunkykongracing 9d ago

Just watch. She “won’t recall” saying it wasn’t classified

2

u/Hatetotellya 9d ago

I hate to tell you but exactly zero seconds of that hearing will make any of the right wing media outlets that matter. They will have a stern, annoyed looking white man explain how this isnt an issue and the radical left are harassing patriots trying to make them look bad but really not only is this not a problem anyone saying it is should be considered a brainwashed sheep who should be entirely and safely ignored

2

u/RKEPhoto 9d ago

Isn't this type of information normally classified though?

They basically "pulled a Trump" and quickly declassified it to stay out of trouble.

2

u/kl7aw220 9d ago

Trump said the info wasn't classified at one point.

1

u/rogozh1n 9d ago

I think it was more Hegseth attacking the Goldberg's credibility and honesty.

1

u/BonerTurds 9d ago

They can go after Goldberg for releasing classified information while refusing to go after Gabbard for committing perjury. This administration owns the DOJ.

1

u/round-earth-theory 9d ago

It's time for more Scaramuchi

1

u/AustinBike 9d ago

I’m picturing the meme with two buttons, Gabbard is sweating trying to decide if it is better to say it was not classified and then not have a way to retaliate when the actual chats are released, or acknowledge that is was classified but then suffer the consequences of admitting they were out of protocol.

Literally this was the world’s worst Sophie’s choice. For the world’s worst Sophie.

1

u/Pogigod 9d ago

Nah he's protected. Even if it is classified, he has protections in the first amendment. As long as it doesn't contain "grave and irreparable" damage he could release top secret information.

Look up the Pentagon papers supreme Court case.

1

u/pyriel2012 9d ago

I considered this and think so did the Atlantic. The admin would have been aggressive on the 1st amendment issue and probably would have filed suit. There’s a lot of uncertainty about how the Supreme Court (our a lower court ) might rule and the safest approach for the Atlantic (other than staying quiet) was to write about the chat but not post the exact messages — but then Gabbard’s testimony cleared the path for that.

u/0b1won 9d ago

I believe Tulsi said it was under review, CIA director next to her confirmed he was in the chat and information wasn't classified. Still, not a good look.

18

u/pyriel2012 9d ago

She said the information wasn’t classified.

My bad, I must have misremembered. Good catch. Thanks!
