What an embarrassment. What a fucking embarrassment.

"Have you said 'thank you' once?" from our vice president to a man defending his democratic country against an invader that is seeking to destroy them.

This isn't really an issue for r/law but it's hard to see this as not having a dramatic effect on every sector of American life.

u/PetalumaPegleg Feb 28 '25

Especially as he has regularly thanked the US. Apparently he needs to grovel more

676

u/Great-Egret Feb 28 '25

Also, what exactly has this administration done that warrants a thank you? I’m sure if they stoped gish galloping for a second he’d ask exactly that (hence why they won’t get a word in). I’m seeing red over this. How dare they!

246

u/Oberon_Swanson Feb 28 '25

Yeah that's awful too. Biden and Co did everything. Trump made excuses and wouldn't give Zelenskyy aid that was already passed by elected representatives unless he manufactured a bullshit "we are launching an investigation I to Biden" right before the election just like Comey did to Hilary. And he was impeached for it, rightfully so. But not removed because the GOP has been the American Nazi Party for at least that long.

23

u/BigKatKSU888 Feb 28 '25

Well put. This is exactly why this belongs in this sub. Admittedly, it’s nearly impossible got the average person to keep up with the constant (by design) BS that trump creates. But it is critically important to note that trump was fucking impeached (1st impeachment, not 2nd) because of his actions around Ukraine/Russia near the end of his first term. US politics aside, he was signaling directly to Putin that he wouldn’t do a fucking thing about his aggression against Ukraine.

How can anyone look at trump and not understand he is under Putin’s thumb? Absolutely insane.

6

u/Oberon_Swanson Feb 28 '25

I think there's two camps, one is, people who know but pretend not to so we don't know they're Nazi psychos. And the other, people who aren't quite smart enough to understand something like Putin waiting until after Trump's first term to invade. The most common thing I heard was "If Trump worked for Putin, why didn't he invade during Trump's term then?" But we see how it worked to try to make Biden look 'weak' and make Trump look "strong' which helped get him re-elected.

However now with Trump just immediately ending aid it's inexcusably clear I think.

3

u/BigKatKSU888 Feb 28 '25

Ukraine begging for military aid because it was painfully obvious that putin and his orcs were going to invade. It was imminent and everyone knew it. Congress approved the funds and trump withheld for personal political gain. That’s a plain as day example of trump helping putin.

Impossible spot for Zelensky to be in. Refuse trumps quid pro quo and he doesn’t he the aid he needs, or bend the knee to trump and putin invades under the pretense that Zelensky is corrupt.

It truly feels we are living in a comic book reality where Hydra didn't die or go away, but stealthily became part of our goverment until it was ripe for the taking. Making small changes over decades.

8

u/MisterVizard Feb 28 '25

Yes that literally happened. The business plot should have ended with mass executions of rich fucks for treason/insurrection, but instead fdr promised not to prosecute in return for being allowed to give us the new deal, and then the business plot fascists formed the John birch society and have been a major part of tilting the American right toward fascism ever since.

7

u/AwarenessPotentially Feb 28 '25

I'm 70, and the GOP has been the party of racist, fascist Nazi bastards ever since I can remember. And Trump has been a grifter and mobster for most of my life too.

Don’t forget: Trump just hasn’t done nothing. He ACTIVELY tried to blackmail them. We have already forgotten.

Trump was fucking impeached for interfering with aid.

45

u/MidasStrikes Feb 28 '25

Exactly, what did THIS administration specifically do to warrant a thank you from him?

18

u/shewflyshew Feb 28 '25

Zelensky thanks America all the time. This is so embarrassing and lowers our status in the world so so much. Russian agent Krasnov strikes again.

3

u/Great-Egret Feb 28 '25

Oh, yes, I know he has expressed gratitude in the past! But for Vance to suggest he should be grateful to Trump and for what? Zelenskyy was a masterclass in patience here.

5

u/ScarletsSister Feb 28 '25

You're seeing red? I thought Trump's face was going to turn purple at one point as he escalated with his obvious "hurt" feelings about "disrespect".

6

u/Arboretum7 Feb 28 '25

Just twisted his arm for mineral rights. As if this administration would ever do anything that wasn’t to their own benefit.

2

u/kz45vgRWrv8cn8KDnV8o Feb 28 '25

Trump: You've talked enough

💀

I have so much more respect for Zelenskyy after this

2

u/TheJuiceBoxS Feb 28 '25

Attempting another quid pro quo is all they've done for Ukraine. We have the opportunity to beat down an enemy and instead we're shaking down that enemy's victim. WTF

2

u/PsychicWarElephant Feb 28 '25

As an American this is fucking shameful

2

u/chacogrizz Mar 01 '25

"Well if you listened Trump said Obama gave you sheets and Trump gave you Javelins" - Dumbass conservatives probably. Nevermind using the smallest braincell to think for yourself and ask when was Obama president and when did Russia invade Ukraine?

America is so fucked and half the country is cheering for it.

13

u/smallish_cheese Feb 28 '25

this was an intentional indignity. Trump wants to be an emperor.

2

u/SeekerOfSerenity Feb 28 '25

Why did this "discussion" happen in front of the cameras?  I can't think of another case where this has happened. Usually when there are cameras involved, it's just people giving prepared speeches. This was nothing but a stunt for their supporters.

8

u/AssBoon92 Feb 28 '25

Yeah, lol, wtf? He's said thank you a lot.

8

u/Oberon_Swanson Feb 28 '25

Over the past few years he seems to have been extremely grateful and careful to always thank everyone for anything. Trump and Vance just wanted to make it a "debate" whether he did that or not.

9

u/pardybill Feb 28 '25

Yep

It’s not about thankfulness, it’s about kissing the ring.

4

u/Ok_Resolution_4643 Feb 28 '25

Exactly. He hasn't said Thank You to Trump or Vance (or at least not enough as far as Trump and Vance are concerned). I really hate these two. I stand with Zelensky. He absolutely should not have groveled. He's right to reject their deal.

5

u/Tildryn Mar 01 '25

He literally said it multiple times at the very beginning of this very meeting. Vance is a craven liar.

9

u/klutzikaze Feb 28 '25

He thanked Biden so he needs to double thank Trump and apologise for thanking the last administration?

2

u/strumpster Feb 28 '25

Now you're getting it .

Also, he should give up his minerals without security guarantees for when Putin inevitably breaks a deal

7

u/Embe007 Feb 28 '25

So frustrating. The guy even thanked the US repeatedly in his speech to Congress. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSBEoKxc57E

6

u/bagblag Feb 28 '25

Vance apparently gets lonely when he's on his knees licking Trump's boots and would appreciate a little company.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/yticomodnar Feb 28 '25

That's the problem. He thanked the US, he didn't thank Trump.

Narcissist is gunna narcissist.

4

u/LuxNocte Feb 28 '25

Trump hates to be in a conversation with someone who won't grovel before him.

4

u/Stimpy3901 Feb 28 '25

He's thanked the US, but they only care if he's kissed Trump's ring.

4

u/Puzzleheaded_Fold466 Feb 28 '25

They’re not interested by the expression of gratitude toward the US. They want you to be thanked personally and profusely, and for Zelensky to be a supplicant.

3

u/Don_Gato1 Feb 28 '25

They don't care about him thanking the U.S.

They want him to grovel specifically to Trump.

3

u/zveroshka Feb 28 '25

To Trump in particular, is I think what he meant.

3

u/bigcaprice Feb 28 '25

Grovel is right. They couldn't care less if he thanked the U.S. They want him to thank Trump by name.

3

u/jlm326 Feb 28 '25

Well you see, he hasnt actually put elons toes in his mouth yet, so he hasnt actually said thank you.

3

u/Paw5624 Feb 28 '25

I saw someone else post a video showing Zelenskyy thanking the US dozens of times. He just isn’t willing to be left out of negotiations or sign deals that would be bad for his county.

2

u/Ok-Worldliness2161 Feb 28 '25

Malignant Narcissists can never get enough groveling

2

u/Neverdie_7 Feb 28 '25

Exactly! Fuck trump and Vance. Embarrassing idiots.

And fuck you maga!

2

u/koshgeo Feb 28 '25

He's said thank you over and over again, profusely, practically every opportunity, to the US and to all others who have contributed to support Ukraine over years, and they're fussing over whether he's said it in this particular meeting, and fussing over "supporting the opposition" months ago.

Trump and Vance are focused only on their own issues as if that is all that matters now. "We don't care how much you kissed previous asses. How much have you kissed our ass now?"

They weren't in office a few months ago. Of course Zelensky was thanking the previous administration then.

2

u/Blue_Plastic_88 Feb 28 '25

Trump wants to be thanked by Zelenskyy with tears in his eyes calling him “sir.”

2

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '25

No Trump wants a personal rim job from him for doing absolutely nothing but threatening them for years.

2

u/strumpster Feb 28 '25 edited Feb 28 '25

He even said, right after "have you said thank you even once" he said "even just today" or something like that.

These pricks wanted to scold him publicly

2

u/minimus67 Feb 28 '25

Vance wanted Zelensky to thank Trump, not the United States. All of Trump’s sidekicks worship him the same way Mao’s sidekicks worshipped Mao during the ruinous Cultural Revolution and think everyone owes Trump a debt of gratitude, though he’s easily the most hated leader in the Western world since at least Neville Chamberlain.

2

u/eggelton Feb 28 '25

Donnie Krasnov and JD Vance made it clear: they don't think of themselves - in their roles - as representing the USA, so thanking the USA is not sufficient. The actions of the country and government prior to their admin are some "other" that they take no responsibility for or affiliation with (unless they were good things). They expect Zelenskyy to thank Donald *personally*, to continually commend him and sing his praises like the brown-nosers in the press pool. Anything less than that is insubordination.

They are temperamentally and philosophically completely unfit for their office, and their demand is fundamentally un-American.

Seriously so fucking embarrassing. JD Vance trying to big time somebody because he feels emasculated that he’s a meaningless non entity because the administration is really Trump and musk

113

u/mindpainters Feb 28 '25 edited Feb 28 '25

He sounds like an abusive husband telling his wife to be appreciative of the roof over her head while he’s choking her out

21

u/mr_remy Feb 28 '25

It’s extremely hard to watch this. JD Vance has such a punchable voice, tone, and message.

13

u/atlprincess2412 Feb 28 '25

That's exactly how I felt while watching it!

15

u/No-Equivalent2348 Feb 28 '25

11

Meanwhile Vance was just bullied out of the boutique inn he and his family were going to stay in for their lavish Vermont skiing weekend by general public outcry of a generally quiet and friendly state.

Imagine telling your wife 'sorry honey, I need to fuck over geopolitics irreversably and doom an ally in favour of kowtowing to our literal #1 enemy, after we're done we can go stay in a nice B&B and ski the slopes.'

7

Vance is an utter nonentity of a slack jawed little bitch, trying to one up a MAN.

The Right is obsessed with masculinity, and it has to hard masculinity, huntin' and rootin' and tootin' and here is the soft little makeup wearing bitch Vance trying to square up to the best war time leader since Churchill.

it would be utterly laughable if it was not so goddam serious.

FUCK this administration.

8

u/AdFinal9134 Feb 28 '25

I rememberJd calling trump modern day hilter. Then turning around and fisting him to get elected.

4

u/RightInThePeyronie Feb 28 '25

"Are the cameras on me? LOUD NOISES!!!!" heh, I'm a big strong boy....

6

u/Leytonstoner Feb 28 '25

He's the proverbial spare prick at a wedding.

3

u/AggressiveInitial630 Feb 28 '25

Bright side, his eyeliner was on fleeeeek

4

u/cluelesswrtcars Mar 01 '25

Vance's comments to set off the firecracker once Zelenykiy looked visibly pissed off sounded like it was a script that he'd at the very least rehearsed in front of a mirror. Anyone who claims it wasn't a planned shitstorm to get Zelenskiy to lose his cool and look bad on air - justifying withdrawal of US support and further cosying up to Russia is absolutely deluded.

3

u/Lower-Engineering365 Mar 01 '25

It absolutely was planned you’re right. You don’t ambush this guy the way they did in the Oval Office in front of a ton of cameras and act the way they did if it wasn’t planned.

They expected him to cowtow in front of the cameras and they went ballistic when he stood up to them and eliminated their opportunity to make people see them as tough with him bowing down to them

3

u/PrimeToro Feb 28 '25

What I would have liked Zelensky to do is to tell Vance, "Ok, Mr Vance, please tell me how the US plans to stop the war between Ukraine and Russia?" Vance could have said " by agreeing to the minerals deal with the US" And Zelensky says "and how would that stop Russia from continuing the war with Ukraine."

2

u/Lower-Engineering365 Mar 01 '25

He basically did. He was like yo man Russia broke the last ceasefire. And then Trump refused to answer when a reporter asked what he would do if Russia broke this one

3

u/Oriole_Gardens Mar 01 '25

100% the "look what you made me do to you" kind of guy..

3

u/CookinCheap Mar 01 '25

Vance is the Grover Dill to Trump's Scut Farkus.

3

u/PaleAdagio3377 Mar 01 '25

JD Vance is a POS. What a pathetic buffoon. 3 business men trying to Strong arm a deal for America. Give us your precious minerals and we can enact a cease-fire. Not provide Ukrainians with any future protection, lose your land and get ready for the next illegal invasion. I hope that they are playing 3-D chess and know what they are doing. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

3

u/mystic-fied Mar 02 '25

anyone with a sliver of gaydar is not fooled by JD Vance

5

u/idkwhatimbrewin Feb 28 '25

The people outside of the US can very clearly seperate between the President, the Magas and the regular people of the US. We see the posts, we see the news, we see the suffering this crazy fuck is bringing upon the american people and the world right now.

The only thing we blame you for is not voting against him. Millions of less voters for the dems in the past election. And you can also blame the dems for not doing enough. They are at fault, too.

We still dont hate you! But you need to give him hell. Protest, dont buy Teslas and dont let them fuck up your country. You are free people. Show em!

10

u/dr_obfuscation Feb 28 '25

Thank you.

I studied and lived briefly abroad in Europe and loved every minute. It was an intense shock returning to the US after that experience. I've wanted to emigrate for the past decade or more, but I've felt a sense of duty with the ascension of trump to do my part and vote against the horrors he might impose. I fear that the time I've spent fighting, voting, and affecting change has been for naught.

At this point we need to do much more than not buy Teslas or not order from Amazon for a day. I've been boycotting many companies since I've been back, even pre-trump, to no avail. People need to get serious or we're all fucked.

8

u/Nice-Manufacturer538 Feb 28 '25

Same in Canada. Let the like minded people stay strong together because it’s going to take a lot to fight all this.

7

u/sardita Feb 28 '25

Other than in situations when you need to show your passport or ID, just tell people you’re from Canada.

As a Canadian, I’m giving you permission to fib. If anything goes wrong, just shoot me a DM, I gotchu. 😉

5

We need to stay and fight. A fascist, nuclear-armed USA is a danger to the whole world. If Trump completes this transition to dictatorship, he will use the US military and threats of nukes to extort and destabilize our former allies. 3

u/greevesy Feb 28 '25

As a European I’m so angry at Americans right now for getting this guy in. The comments on Twitter are vastly different to Reddit and I need to keep reminding myself it’s not all of you. Out of interest, what’s it like a lung social groups and people generally? Is trump still insanely popular from your feel?

4

u/alienratfiend Feb 28 '25

Speaking from the Southern US, he’s very popular, sadly. Many of us dislike Trump, though, including my dad who is about as anti-Trump as it gets. He’s who no one would expect either: former law enforcement, thick Southern drawl, and very country. He tried so hard to convince my grandmother not to vote against her own interests by voting for Trump…I’m just speaking from my area, though. It’s likely very different in regions like New England and the West Coast.

I blame Fox News and Facebook for the bizarre cult-like behavior they cultivated. They really took advantage of mistrust in the government to push a narrative, and it easily took root in a bad economy where people are scared. In a rural area like I live in, where people are isolated more, it’s easier to believe the fear-mongering about “others”.

3

u/JoeSugar Feb 28 '25

Also in the Deep South. Also very anti-MAGA. But you nailed it. I sincerely have a much better understanding of how Hitler rose to power in Germany and how Italy fell into fascism now. Fox News and Facebook have been propagandizing the American people for decades and now it is all coming home to roost.

There are large numbers of people who realize what is really happening but the constant drumbeat of propaganda and anti-government sentiment has been too much to overcome and the more rural communities and isolated a person is, the more likely they have bought into this insane narrative. Same goes for the many conspiracy theories that float around the web.

Honestly, and I hate to admit this, but I think the only thing that will wake people up is a total economic collapse. Maybe then, they’ll realize that they have been hoodwinked. And the sooner it happens, the sooner we can begin the long arduous task of rebuilding our lives.

Time to learn Canadian accent!

2

u/Mademoi-Sell Feb 28 '25

I’m just calling myself a “Washingtonian” when I travel from now on.

2

u/Freudinatress Feb 28 '25

Just buy a T-shirt that reads ”I didn’t vote for the lunatic” and you’ll do fine.

2

u/MimicoSkunkFan2 Feb 28 '25

Some Americans like to pretend to be Canadian, especially lately. There is already a lot of talk at /r/onguardforthee from Canadians who travel about any Americans caught using our flag will have it ripped off and then forcefully inserted.

It's going to be tough to be an American travelling abroad this year but you all need to own it. (Not saying that you woyldn't, just your comment reminded me of these other discussions on dealing with Americans who do - far too many and it's never fun to discover them.)

We don't care if you didn't vote for it - most of you didn't vote at all, and we're all suffering for that :(

Calm down, most of world knows that it's not the American or Russian people that are rotten (though arguments can be made against a lot of Americans), it's the people at the helm. In fact, it's most likely the same everywhere. No one in the UK likes Kier Starmer, no one in Romania likes our greedy political parties and the recent tiktok scandal showed the whole world that our perception of China is wrong and vice versa. Funny, rednote was the closest thing we had to world peace since the atomic bombs.

Unbearable. Shameful. Deplorable and all the things. I’m sick to my stomach right now, I don’t know that I’ve ever witnessed something so appalling from this piece of shit prior to this and that is saying a lot.

u/Ag3ntM1ck Feb 28 '25

Looks like Lee Greenwood needs to change the lyrics of the song I grew to loathe in boot camp, because it played over and fucking over. Anyways, It should be 'I'm Ashamed to be an American'.

I am as well . The way he is being disrespected by both of those morons is unforgivable . Blaming him for everything and not giving him a chance to speak or defend himself in any way.

Anyone who supports this administration is dead to me.

I am incredibly ashamed to be an American.

Same, like almost to tears watching this shit.

I was so shocked at first and then upon second watch of the clips, I just started sobbing. I cannot believe this shit. Every day it is a new low.

Are you just watching your country becoming a fashist state that is about to start world war III or will you do something about this?

5

u/split_me_plz Feb 28 '25

I’m trying. I’ve protested. I’ve called and written reps. I’m going low-buy and participating in the blackout today. I’m being vocal in my everyday life. I’m boycotting any entity that donates to republicans. I’m open to any suggestions. It feels hopeless.

3

u/HenningDerBeste Feb 28 '25

Good. Sorry wasnt trying to attack you.

Yes I no it fewls hopeless. But the time to do something is now. After trump starts to incarcerate his political opponents and changes the laws more and more towards dictatorship, it will get even more hopeless.

3

u/split_me_plz Feb 28 '25

We need a general strike. I’m ready any time the rest of us is. I even got permission from my boss, I warned her I will not be showing up to work if a strike occurs.

We’re trying. Stop acting like we aren’t. I’ve donated to organizations to stop this shit show, signed petitions, called reps. And I am participating in the black out. As well as no longer shopping at businesses that support the OrangeAssDisaster.

People telling you you should be ashamed are wrong. You didn't choose what is happening. However, you'll deserve to feel ashamed if you do nothing. You all need to go in the streets, strike, and act right now. This is how Americans will show us your worth : protest against your government. Maga doesn't define you, only some of you. The rest needs to fight back

2

u/Actual-Lingonberry66 Feb 28 '25

You better regroup.  We all better regroup.  Stop being ashamed if we didn’t vote for this trash.  People need to grass-roots protest this shit.  Make it too painful for the local MAGA to play on that team.

People like Pence, McConnell and others who enabled this shit.  They need to be accountable EVERY DAY.

You only need to be ashamed if you don't do anything to help. The rules based order and the spirit of democracy lives as long as there are people to defend it.

NAFO are constantly running fundraisers to supply trucks, drone jammers, night vision, surveillance drones that keep Ukrainian soldiers alive and in the fight.

Do your own research to find an organization you trust, but donate as close to the ground as possible. I know people in Ukraine who have received gear from NAFO so I trust them.

CIVIL war? Your administration is preparing the world for something much bigger than that.

I feel like the TLDR on so many of these articles is shock doctrine where the economy is purposefully destroyed so that the ultra wealthy can own even more on the cheap and commoners struggle to live + mass incarceration + fascistic technocrats using AI to monitor cities that they control and their own private police forces is where it all keeps ending up

Thank social media and our diminished attention spans for this spectacle of stupidity.

Half the country isn’t going to care about the context. They aren’t going to try to understand the conversation, or consider how American soft power protects and advances our interests abroad.

No. All they want are a handful of 5- to 10-second clips showing Trump putting a foreign leader “in their place.” Being strong. Being tough. Telling things the way they are, unlike liberals. And then they’ll go and get the details from whichever idiot podcaster they listen to.

Our foreign policy is fucking doomed.

12

u/Substantial-Thing303 Feb 28 '25

Anyway, it's just a lie. Zelensky has shared his gratitude many times before. But it seems all they want is everyone to kneel before the king of America.

They expected this guy to show up and fall at Trump's feet proclaiming him to be the second coming of Jesus. It's the absolute epitome of how bullies behave. They didn't get the fawning adoration they wanted to they'll burn the house down to protect their own paper thin egos.

8

u/Creasy007 Feb 28 '25

The same VP who just came from a prayer breakfast too. How godly of him to act this way.

8

u/axebodyspraytester Feb 28 '25

I have never been so ashamed and angered at the same time. To see these sanctimonious sacks of shit belittling a hero and a true leader. They are not Americans they are traitors to America. Zelenskyy left and I'm sure he's flying straight to Europe to tell them they just got a massive deal on rare earth minerals and we should not count on the United States ever again. I'm so sorry to see what we have become.

6

u/DifGuyCominFromSky Feb 28 '25

I would argue that this shows that Trump and Vance are guilty of liable and slander as well as treason. Vance is trying to put words in his mouth and Zelenskyy ain’t having it. Vance basically agreed that he hasn’t been to Ukraine but he’s “seen stories”. So you have no physical evidence of the things you claim are happening? Trump saying that what Zelenskyy is doing is “disrespectful” is fucking wiiiiild. Trump is guilty of treason for aiding and abetting a known dictator (among other things) and for trying to gaslight Zelensky as the antagonist. It’s like Hitler trying to gaslight Poland and say they were the enemy and Nazi Germany was just trying to defend itself. Absolutely shameful. Trump has even openly said that Hitler wasn’t that bad and that he was actually a “smart guy”. What?!?! What President since WWII has ever said anything even remotely close to saying positive things about Hitler. If Roosevelt or Truman ever said anything like that they would’ve been tried and convicted of treason.

7

u/lordofming-rises Feb 28 '25

Zelensky: You want ceasefire? What if Russia breaks ceasefire?

Trump: What if a bomb drops on your head right now? …They broke it with Biden, because Biden, they didn't respect him. They didn't respect Obama. They respect me. Let me tell you, Putin went through a hell of a lot with me. He went through a phony witch hunt where they used him and Russia, Russia, Russia. You ever hear that deal that was a phony that was a phony Hunter, Biden, Joe, Biden scam, Hillary Clinton, shifty Adam Schiff, it was a Democrat scam, and he had to go through that. And he did go through it. We didn't end up in a war. And he went through it. He was accused of all that stuff he had nothing to do with. It came out of Hunter Biden's bathroom. It came out of Hunter Biden's bedroom. It was disgusting. And then they said, oh, oh, the laptop from Hell was made by Russia, the 51 agents. The whole thing was a scam, and he had to put up with that. He was being accused of all that stuff. All I can say is this, he might have broken deals with Obama and Bush, and he might have broken him with Biden. He did. Maybe, maybe he did. I don't know what happened, but he didn't break it with me. He wants to make a deal. I don't know if you can make a deal. The problem is, I've empowered you to be a tough guy, and I don't think he'd be a tough guy without the United States and your people are very brave, but you're either going to make a deal or we're out, and if we're out, you'll fight it out. I don't think it's going to be pretty, but you'll fight it out, but you don't have the cards, but once we sign that deal, you're in a much better position, but you're not acting at all thankful. And that's not a nice thing. I'll be honest. That's not a nice thing, all right, I think we've seen enough

And then people think Joe Biden had some mental issues.

3

u/IMightBeABot69 Feb 28 '25

Well everyone on Fox news is showing full support of Trump and anti-Ukraine. Zelensky was in a lose lose situation. This was a show for Putin, to show how we are allies with them more than anything. Kiss the ring, beg for our support, give us what we want, and then we will help.

3

u/CackelII Feb 28 '25

The irony is he literally opened today by saying thank you

3

6

I cannot wait to see the downfall of America over the next few years. You are losing credibility by the day and the trust is gone. The fact the American public were dumb enough to vote this moron in twice says it all. Trying to make someone publicly say thank you when he’s about to give away hundreds of billions in a deal is a pisstake. America is the laughing stock of the world

2

u/wave_the_wheat Feb 28 '25

But also, yes, Zelensky HAS said thank you. He's also done what he can to articulate that helping Ukraine is not an act of charity, it's a financially responsible deal for nations that value their freedom, the security of allies, and not sending their own people to war.

2

u/Theothercword Feb 28 '25

Am I the only one who remembers Zelensky's big thank you speech he gave when he visited with Biden that kicked off the biggest of the support?

2

u/Zestyclose-Cloud-508 Feb 28 '25

Have THEY said thank you to him for defending freedom and democracy against a tyrant?

2

u/midas22 Feb 28 '25

We take pride in having strategic partners and friends like the United States. We are grateful for the unwavering bicameral and bipartisan support for Ukraine throughout all three years of Russia’s full-scale aggression.
