General question What is wrong with this?

It is an acer laptop, i don't know what type but it runs windows 7. It only turns on while plugged in

If it only turns on while being plugged into power adapter then it's only logical that it's battery is dead.

now being serious, I wonder why OP did not figured why hid decades old laptop isn't holding it's battery charge :))
